    I have lost 90% of all my ash trees and it destroys the root and over they go, I am fighting the danger of them falling on the road and taking out the BT cables or falling on the permissive footpath I made. I got it here in Dover very early because of the A2 road where the infected trees were brought in from Europe for planting. There are dead trees all along the A2 and they are also falling now.😢

    Makes me so jealous. Very few seniors can raise their knees that high. I know I can't. And just one sit to stand to sit takes me at least 15 minutes on a good day, I have too much pain. Your model is in way better shape than the seniors watching your video who really need help.

    Umm. Alternatively, to be associated with Elizabeth Woodville, Buckingham and Henry Tudor suggests one of the self-seeking, treacherous individuals who had forgotten the meaning of honour.

    Very nice video, and a responsible and thoughtful insight on how to manage infected trees. local council and many local tree surgeons of use wood chippers in situ to dice the branches, creating mulch. Now, while that's often really good for local wildlife and adding nutrients to the nearby ground, wouldn't it be better to just burn those highly infected branches and stumps, to stop flying insects from going through the mulch of the diseased wood, then spreading it, or having the wind carry the fungal spores to other trees when it comes out of the wood chipper? Prevention is better than cure as they say... Also, I read recently that there's such a small chance that Ash trees can recover. But if they're managed very carefully there is indeed a chance, such as coppicing dead branches and shoots early, and allowing the tree to try and build an immunity. But local council and non reputable tree surgeons seem as though they couldn't care less, and don't allow the trees a chance at building such an immunity to the disease. And instead would rather just chop them down for free fire wood and use an excuse that it's a danger to the public, even though there might not be a road or footpath anywhere near the tree 🤨🥴

    While watching you burn yourself couldn’t help but wonder why you didn’t just take the pot off of the fire while you spooned the greens out to drain.

    Thanks for this recipe. I'm reading a novel set in the late 14th century by an author who is a respected historian. He mentions a number of dishes so I'm getting all the recipes. This was one & I'd not heard of it before. It's certainly one to try, with spring greens because I love them. 🙂

    how could such an excellent war machine like the early to mid 3rd century AD roman army evolve to a degenerated pale shadow like the late roman army?

  • @jurgisvalancauskas4006
    @jurgisvalancauskas4006 Жыл бұрын

    3rd century is the time when Rome was partitioned among Constantine's children and in the process western Rome lost province of Egypt that provided grain and was economic backbone of the empire. Without it west rome couldn't feed and pay for army expenses

  • @histguy101
    @histguy101 Жыл бұрын

    You have it backwards. The Roman army had suffered many humiliating defeats and invasions during the 3rd century. The army of the late 3rd-late 4th century was an actual war machine, as they fought almost annually on multiple fronts and defeated every foe they came up against. They also fought at sea again, and the army became much more sophisticated.

  • @paprskomet

    If you consider it "degenerated shadow" it is mainly a těsta ent of your need to learn much yet. Such over-demonised imagination of Roman army post 3rd century is now long outdated even in scholarship.

    When I was a teen, I wanted to become a babysitter, but I never got the chance cuz my parents knew the unwritten social rules, that men in childcare receive a lot of harasment from sexist parents, who automatically think because you have a penis that you're more dangerous than a woman with sex toys.

    Have you any advice for how members of the community may go about setting up small local tree nurseries. Getting the young trees isn’t an issue but setting up on council owned land is an unknown. (We have a local old school playing field that has been abandoned for a decade that would be perfect for this imo.)

    Thanks Mike for your insight. My wife saw the article in Leicestershire Matters & suggested that, because of my background, applying to become a tree warden for Ellistown & Battleflat PC would do two things: get me out from under her feet & give me something worthwhile to do for the local community. I shall be emailing the PC forthwith & hope my application is successful. Good luck with your ID tree study!

    As well as a red flashing alarm, the emergency exit *should* light up green (which it does not in this video). This is to be compliant with Fire Exit signs regulations which states that all fire exit signs but be visible throughout the period of occupancy. Please address this as a matter of urgency and check that your toilets are also covered in case of an emergency - your video does not cover this.

    Hi Matt, thank you for your comments. All of our Smart Libraries are fully compliant with H&S regulations through robust assessments with appropriate external partners. The Emergency exit signs are not required to be illuminated units, as long as they are visible at all times either themselves or with the assistance of other lighting. We do also have beacons within our disabled toilets to notify users of a fire alarm. I hope this reassures you our buildings are safe to use in the event of an emergency.
