Enjoyable video thanks. It’s never easy when the river starts coming up quickly. The river seemed to be flowing right to left yet, when the camera was filming from behind the rods, it was going in the other direction. I’ve recently had three days up on the Trent and really struggled, lost one barbel when I was cut off in dead reeds and only had one Chub, albeit a decent one at 5.1 lbs. I’m off to the Wye on Saturday for the last three days of the season and hoping for a barbel or two.

Thankyou mate, yes I know I film everything just using my phone so when I film the rods I switch the camera to the front one so it looks like the river is flowing the other way. I haven't managed to get to the trent at all this season but have managed to get to the wye, good luck to you mate I hope you catch, the conditions are certainly in our favour, hopefully I'll be getting a nene session or two in before Monday 🎣

Thanks mate, mainly just use korum 11ft barbel rods and shimano 6000 RB baitrunner reels, like to keep things simple on small rivers like the nene 🎣

Hi, I'm planning a fishing trip away this year and I'm looking at the Doddington stretch of the River Nene. Do you know if that's free to fish / day ticket or club members only? Cheers Gary
@fishingfirst90682 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, unfortunately I don't know much about the doddington stretch as I tend to fish more in the peterborough areas of the nene, sorry I can't help mate, Cheers, Robbie

Well done to you on December barbel. I still struggling to catch one in December. Maybe this year I'll manage it. What flavour is the Severn Valley tardip dip?
@fishingfirst90682 жыл бұрын
Thankyou mate, it certainly isn't easy but once the conditions are right its worth a go, the severn valley product was just original but after having a quick look on the website I'm not sure if they still do it 🎣

I were out new years eve also, but blanked. Very mild conditions, suprised I had the whole stretch to myself, very strange. But still enjoy it. Enjoyed your vid also, thanks for sharing 👍

No worries mate thankyou for taking the time to watch it. The conditions have been spot on but still tough going, any time on the Bank is enjoyable regardless of catching 🎣👍

Hey Robbie just seen your channel as you know I fished Elton I’m one of the twins, I’ve found it’s a hard stretch when I’ve got bites it’s been within the last 10 mins or session, the fish are there just very wary
@fishingfirst90682 жыл бұрын
Hey mate yes I know it can be a really hard stretch at times, buy very rewarding. Most stretches on the nene the bites tend to come after sunset.
