how many flights can you do with your 6 ounce sinker and two hooks set up, casting 250m away?
I had this boat and the third time I wanted to use it, had a hole inside of it. I saw reviews in Amazon they also had a hole exactly at the same spot. I could not fix it yet. the patches came with it definitely useless
It's really easy to get a hole in the flimsy material. How big was the hole? You could probably fix it with some better pvc glue.
overpriced .. i can build and get cheaper one
haha, I doubt it. But proof me wrong and make a video on how you build it. You could use a simple 12 volt trolling motor or better a kontiki motor, a lithum battery and some arduino magic for the remote control. But it's likely gonna look crap, will probably not be waterproof, much less powerful (the epropulsion is running on 24 volt), more cumbersome and in the end cost more than the epropulsion. I was thinking of building one myself for a while. Remember the price for the unit is less than $800USD. But since you claim you can do it, I'd really love to see it. Talk the talk and walk the walk, haha 😜
@@Fishingreminder haha your not a diy person 🤣 have fun getting ripped off just another mass made from China and rebranding name 😄
@@Fishingreminderhaha that didn't even come with a battery 😂😂😂😂
@@Fishingreminderyeah I go a 3D printer I can make one look nice and custom to my needs
@@thatonebeone Fantastic, then please do make one and show us how you do it. Can't wait to see the result. I think it's easer said than done despite a 3D printer. The battery is included in the price for the vaquita motor. A better motor is the Bixpy kayak motor. But that's almost twice as much. That would also be a good one to replicate - if you can do it.
Poor engineering😅
It's such a great place over there mark , cheers ,shaneno , nelson ,👍🍺
cheers Shano, sure is eh, totally worth the long drive. Just gotta pick the right timing. I guess it's not very pleasant on a strong westerly out there.
Another good video - will be out doing some more drone fishing soon..
Cheers mate, good luck out there! Should be good with Spring approaching. Hard to get motivation on these cold miserable winter days, especially down south :)
again top video as always i use your peg system as its fool proof we run 2 electric reels for drone fishing one is a dawia 500 and the other is dawia tanacon 1200 for gummies and normal sharks im taken some footage when we go out next hoping to show you our se t up thanks to you and your lovely wife in the back ground
Thanks mate, I've been eying out the dawia tanacom. One day I'll get one and make a review about it :) The cloth peg works a treat, eh. I just ordered a few downrigger clips from temu. They are quite expensive in tackle shops but cheap as on Temu. It's like an adjustable tension cothes peg :) I'll be testing them out in one of our upcoming videos.
Nice Video guys. 👍.. Maybe in time. You guys can make a drone fishing video catching kingies as well.. Tips and tricks. More power👍
Thanks man, yeah great idea. I'd be keen on that. Would be cool to use the drone to troll a lure :) Or maybe fly out a stickbait and drop it over some kingies. It's not gonna be easy. Maybe with the Aeroo Drone it would be possible to fly out a live bait with a big float and drop it over some kingies.
@@Fishingreminder it'll be awesome. I hope you'll do it 💪🤙.
BRO EATING THAT EYE WAS CRAZY HAHAH
haha, yeah I got a taste for them eyes now :)
Thank you for making this video! Watching from Toronto Canada
Glad it was helpful! Cheers
That's a big piece of sh.t.👎🔥🤬🇺🇦🇺🇦🤬🔥🇺🇸🇬🇧🤬🔥👎
😢 yo ise lo mismo del video y perdí mi dron anda nadando 🏊♂️ con los peces
lamento escuchar eso. ¿Cómo ha ocurrido?
Love the boat I use your bite time Australia
thanks mate, yeah the boat is not too bad, eh. It opens up a bunch new fishing opportunities. Glad you also enjoy our bite times.
IV ordered one for fishing would it be difficult to stand on or conformal enough?
You won't be able to stand. You'd need one with a drop stitch bottom, like the aqua Marina aircat
This is the only explanation I can find anywhere (including the ePropulsion website and Vaquita manual) on what to do with that little lanyard lol.
glad it the video was helpful. Yeah it's not immediately clear what to do with it, eh :)
Not helpful.
lol 1,400 dollars for pvc plastic dude get real
Designed in South Africa ❤
Can i fly in the rain?
It can handle drizzle but not really hard rain as it's not waterproof.
Winter not worth fishing down here
Looks like Kahawai are still around!😉
Awesome video. Love your work guys.
Thanks so much!
Hey Mark, That looked cold! I've been using your "Fishingreminder " website to determine the best times to fish, and it's been amazing how accurately I can pin point the bite times here in the bay of plenty. Awsome amount of information 👌
So that's how you catch a Cloyster. Lol
The similar holes in my Zodiac transom are for the launching wheels. Also I used them for the rope ladder.
Is this 1250 US or another dollars?
New Zealand Dollar. Should be around 800 USD
been thinking about trying flyfishing for years now your video gives me encouragement
that's awesome, thanks man - great feedback and exactly what I was hoping to achieve with this video!
Jesus Christ aye....😂😂😂. Would love to do thecsounds on my Stealth kayak....but as you pointed out staying safe and out of the areas with raging currents is the number one priority...needs local knowledge
haha yeah :) Generally the sounds are pretty safe for kayaking. It's only the outer sounds, french pass and some areas around D'urville island where things get a bit sketchy.
How to get a bait Canon
Get in touch with Tama, his details are in the description
Mint video mate , shame you didnt get into anything substantial but cracking spot eh. I had 2 days fishing there on me kayak summer gone. I paddled out to those islands sat in the middle of them, a local said there was a deep hole that held bigger snapper and i did get one of the bigger ones , as well as on the corner as you head around towards the mussel farm. Absolutely gorgeous spot
thanks mate, yeah what a nice spot. We were there just at the end of the season. So fishing was a bit slow. I bet early and late summer is a great time to catch some biggies around there. I'll have a look for the hole next time. It's also quite good around the cape I believe. It's not that much further from the islands. Good effort paddling out there on a yak.
Hello me i know the full address of camping site? I will be coming in seoul this aug31 from busan. I really love camping.
Great spot I don't know that area at all. That Sea Lion was a bit nuts I think! Lovely Rig I pull them out all summer like that they put up a great fight. Looking forward to the next episode.
yeah that sea lion was nuts, eh. Looked like he wanted to sink our boat, haha. Would have been pure horror on the paddleboard.
Great video my old home town Dunedin . Check out Karitane next time it's a relatively safe river bar 2 hours before and 2 hours after high tide. No problems in the right conditions in your boat .We used to fish the weed beds opposite the red barn. Good Trumpeter and maybe still the odd blue Cod.
Cheers mate, yeah Karitane is up on my list. I was gonna go last time but there was a fishing comp and too many boats for my liking :) Trumpeter would be fun to catch. Do you use mainly mussel bait for them similar to blue moki? I think I read somewhere that they also take lures.
@@Fishingreminder Trumpeter will go for jigs and flasher rigs and are often caught when targeting Blue cod.
@@ianpaterson3092 cheers, good to know. I only ever got one spear fishing. Would be cool to catch one on a micro jig.
Most interesting - a uniquely NZ style of fishing!
thanks mate, glad to hear it was an interesting watch. Yeah I think it is very unique to New Zealand.
Good review, Mark - would be good off 90 mile beach for some of those big snapper!
cheers Frank, yeah for sure. It is still my favourite surfcasting rod. Get a real good distance with it. The reel had a few issues after I dropped it in the saltwater a few times on the beach. At the moment I use a shimano torrium long cast reel with this rod. It's a pretty good combo.
Bruv if ya wanna get advise best just head to pap approach one of the many old timers down there that fish they are more than happy to shoot the breeze with you and these old fullas they know there shit they were born with rod and reel in hand there first words ever spoken where da fish at ma.. 😂😂
haha yea for sure, having a bit of a banter with the old fishing folks is always very productive :)
Churrrr bruv, so Salisbury wharf is totally a no go, epic sad and poor fishing and a heap of fowl ground strait off the wharf before going off to the right hand L part of the wharf.. It's a waste of time if u actually want a hook up. Sulphur point boat jetties are also a no go, due to massive volume of boats launching and landing all times of day and night in summer via the channel where u cast to. I've had many hook ups only to have a boat cut me line off. Mount Stone jetty is also a no go as fish don't navagate generally in that area if u do hook up it will be pretty much hooking a lost fish. Leisure island is for the seasoned angler who has knowledge of tackle rigs, types of lures and baits, knowledge of swell directions, tidal flows, moon phases, currents , wind direction and swell direction plus a tonne of patience, but if u hook up and land it ur a frikn legend. North West rock is OK ish, but if u carry on around the mount maybe another 300m metres there's a flat rocky out crop that gives access to prime fishing ground u will know if u find it as me an mates concreted rod holders in to the outcrop about 25 YRS AGO. U can nail moocha snaps on that ground best got their was 22lbs snapper,. However I've never seen great whites there but b warned its a highway for massive bronze whalers in pup heading for hunters creek to there nursery harmless to us but they like to grab a snack on the way past at times. Chapel St car Bridge is epic fishing kahawai snapper trevs and massive herons the size of average kahawai, 2 hrs on the incoming u will hook snaps the odd kahawai but then 3hrs on the incoming a beautiful thing happens schools of big deep sea kahawai patrol non stop up and and down along the bridge, it will blow ur frikn mind, best I hooked there 8lbs kahawai and 32cm snaps, but best sign is if there the birds are all lined up on the railing and lamp posts u know IT'S ON!!! Papamoa best places are Harrisons Cut, domain boat ramp and strait off Parton Rd, all easy access and best thing is at night go old school take a swag of wood fry pan, bread steak or chops and have a fire down by the water line, don't forget couple of cold ones also.
Awesome tips mate, good to hear some local feedback on the spots.
Nice fish
cheers
The kahawia broth looked very nice
yeah it makes amazingly good stock, everytime we catch kahawai we look forward to making this stock now :)
I think Kahawai taste better than snapper if you can cook it right after you catch it.
Nice kingfish, mate! Wings make great eating!
for sure, best part of the fish :)
Great video, mate!
cheers, glad it was helpful
Nice place and nice video, I'm a fly angler, I went in Dunedin last December but we didn't see that place, it seems nice also with fly rod. If would you have some suggestions about "Pasta con le Vongole", le me know...😂
cheers man, haha - So vongole is the italian word for cockles, right?
@@Fishingreminderyes 😊
@@user-yh8dt2bm8i Any tips for Pasta Vongole?🤔
Yummm!!!
Just wondering why you were nof using the Aeroo pro drone?
That was filmed a few months before we got our hands on the Aeroo Pro Beta model. We just got around to editing the footage as we had to many other projects come up in between, haha.
Thanks. That makes sense. I am considering the Aeroo Pro as it looks to be a nice combination of features vs price. What are your overall thoughts after spending some time with it please?
@@shanelangton4520 I think it's a pretty nifty drone. I only had the beta model for testing so far but once I get the final version, I'll make an in-depth review. The beta model has been really good already. A solid drone with good lifting capacity and strong motors. There were a few small issues with the compass calibration in the beta version but this is all fixed in the final release as far as I know. So I'm really keen on getting my hands on it.
How are you finding the Aqua Marina cat?
yeah it's really good, eh. Still holding up pretty good after 1 and a half year of heavy careless usage. Good fun with the 6hp motor on it.
@@Fishingreminder Thank you for the comments. Bill
@@billschneider1893 sure thing :)
is this in the summer?
yes it was, just got around to editing the video 6 months later :)
What do you guys think about this crazy sea lion? This dude was nuts, charging at our boat and then harassing the kayakers and swimmers.
@@Fishingreminder he was big too
Weka are rare around Dunedin but being seen more and more often, cool you saw one
The part with the weka was actually filmed up in Marlborough :) I never realised that they are rare down there. But yeah thinking about it now, I actually haven't seen any around Dunedin.
yer back with the phantom 3 good to see your the man and another great video you and your wife are the best
cheers brother, haha yeah the good old phantom 3 is a beast. One battery is starting to play up but otherwise she is as good as new :).
A few trout are in that estuary sometimes
awesome that would be fun to catch a few sea run trout. I also would have thought there are some flounder around - but strangely I couldn't see any obvious signs - so I didn't try.
@@Fishingreminder you get a few flounder there
@@thatguyfishing2710 nice, I must give it a try next time :) Haven't had flounder for quite a while.
It's a lovely spot mark as being born in Dunedin my grandfather he'd a crib or bach in wakawhite it's near karatane mate , awesome beaches when I was very young , cheers , shaneo, Nelson, 🍺👍
We LOVE the surroundings of Dunedin as well as Nelson!🥰
what an awesome spot to have a bach! Must have been fantastic as a kid. Lot's of young couples from Dunedin seem to be moving to these areas these days and then commute back to Dunedin for work.
