Awesome build. Like the "trim" to create a seal around the firebox door, but don't think it's necessary with the door being open for air flow. I did have a few suggestions: - I would ditch the heat deflector plate as that will disrupt the arc of smoke. - I would also add a thermometer to the cooking chamber, especially at grate level. - What about an expanded metal wall around the storage shelf? Then the wood splits wouldn't fall down. Overall, great job guys. Super cool to see a well thought out, heavy duty smoker.

Nice project, but as you said you should've cleaned all that internal rust off, especially where you were welding. 👍🏽

No insulation ANYWHERE. No precautions against freezing. No loops to save water. Where is this? In California, we use insulation. I go a step further and use radiant barriers.

The build looks to be well done. It would be helpful to have dimensions added to your explanations. Such as, how did you determine the size of the fire box opening into the tank, as well as the size of the hole to the smoke chamber. By the way....I agree with the comments about you working with your Dad.

I like the idea cuz it looked good but you wasted so much space next to the fridge, you could have used that space for shelving or a waste bin and the same thing on the other end you could have made it a little bit wider and used it for shelving for outdoor stuff.

Here in Las Vegas I have seen them pex pipe uponor with the expansion rings fail after 10 to 20 years when they run the pipe up in the attics it’s to hot and DRY the pipe starts to crack from extreme dry heat , it shatters to repair it you have to by sections using pex rings because you can’t expand it any more or do a repipe
