He was five weeks old when I brought him home. Some chicks are fully independent when they are 8 weeks old . Does he eat by himself?

our quaker parrot herman has been like this since the day we got him. we can't touch his stuff, bring new stuff in or try to feed him without him trying to attack us, he makes a biting motion and even lunges at me when i am several feet from the cage. he's less like this around one person, but he will bite everyone and anyone who gets near him. so this is why i came here to see if anyone in the comments has an idea as to why?
