Since its inception, YSD has awarded scholarships worth more than RM248 million to 3,208 students both in and outside Malaysia.

YSD is actively involved in the development and improvement of sports in Malaysia such as track cycling and golf.

Under its community & health pillar, YSD supports initiatives in relation to cancer research, HIV and AIDS as well as heart diseases in Malaysia.

Love the opening statement. So true Indeed. A lot of this is lost because of the unrelenting pursuit of shareholder wealth and greed of Sime Darby. As a GLC Sime Darby's greed seems to be driven like there's no tomorrow. Land clearing after land clearing for building concrete and steel structures all over without any regard for the planet's health for future generations. And then greenwash all the corporate's deforestation, biodiversity destruction, massive carbon and GHG emissions with clever green PR using their Yayasan.

In my opinion, this docuseries seems like greenwashing. A distraction from the deforestation and the huge carbon emission carried out by the government's GLCs/GLICs. Why not focus on reforestation, rewilding and regeneration of degraded biodiversity and forests? In this age, GLCs must lead planetary health. Stop focusing on profits and shareholder value at the expense of the planet. Stop your carbon and GHG emission. Invest in using renewable energy. Plant more trees than you destroy. Regenerate the species that you've destroyed due to all your so-called development. There're hardly any trees in your housing projects, but you go to Royal Belum that's already a protected area to do your eco project.

Actually the greatest threats to wildlife and biodiversity are the GLCs, GLICs and large companies that are granted impunity by politicians to clear our forests into monoculture oil palm growing, concrete jungles, and highways. We need to have the political will to protect the environment and the very biodiversity that human lives rely on from corrupt politicians, greedy developers and irresponsible banks and finance institutions. Limit the greed. Do not engage in deforestation like there's no tomorrow. Sime Darby included. Planetary health comes first. Not your profits.

Good job looking after existing forests that are already protected. Better to invest in reforestation. How about the thousands of hectares of jungle that Sime Darby cleared? No replacement of the forests? No reforestation effort? Too much work too expensive to do?? Easier to go for a stroll in existing forest. Make sure that the trees planted actually grow. Too many large scale tree planting projects fail - the plants die and nobody cares after the cameras are gone.
