Hello sir, Hope you are well .I have already visited your KZread channel. and analysed the videos. Your videos are great & very nice but your video SEO and channel optimization are very low. This is a big problem. Because of this your video is not getting views, likes, comments, subscribers and is not going viral .Video uploading is very important for SEO and proper promotion. KZread channels need SEO and video promotion. If you want, I can create a report on your channel growth . I am waiting for your response. Thank you

Great walking tour, Peter! I used to live in Limeuil - I owned the 'Maison de la Justice', which you filmed in the upper village. I thought that there was something familiar about the descriptive texts that you inserted - and realised that you had nicked them from the Wikipedia article on Limeuil. I take that as an honour, because I wrote that entry (some years ago now). I'm pleased that it is proving useful! Best, Michael.

By the way, the Quai Dupleix is named after the late Joseph François Dupleix (1697-1763), who made all his schooling and education in the Collège des Jésuites (nowadays Lycée La Tour-d'Auvergne) in Quimper, before becoming the general commissioner of the Compagnie des Indes and governor of the then french colonies in India (Chandernagor, Pondichéry, Karikal, Yanaon, Mahé), alongside and sometimes against Bertrand François Mahé de la Bourdonnais, who conquered the then Ile de France (the Ile Maurice) from the Dutch. Dupleix was, in the Collège des Jésuites in Quimper, a fellow student of René Madec, born in Quimper, who enlisted in the Armée des Indes, then under Dupleix commandment, and took a large part in the fight against the english forces, settled down there for quite a period, establishing the best relations with the maharadjah of the area, who granted him the title of Grand Nabab des Indes. Madec married a noble indian woman there, and came back later to his beloved Quimper - where his mansion is still standing, rue René-Madec evidently - with his wife, who was constantly waring the traditionnal indian sari. Guess the surprise of the inhabitants of Quimper, in these days ! The connections between Quimper and the Compagnie des Indes and India, through Dupleix and Madec, are so an old story. The other side of the river Odet is named Boulevard Kerguélen, from Yves Joseph de Kerguélen de Trémarec, born in Landudal, a little village just near Quimper, who was leading a french expedition in the southern oceans, in a time when France and England were competeting to discover and take possession of the maximum of newly discovered territories. Kerguélen discoverd the islands today known as Iles Kerguelen - on the ground of which he never effectively made a single step, just observing them from his ship - , and who are probably among the most hostile places on earth. When he came back to France, he discribed his discovery as a second heaven on the planet, with rich land to farm, luxuriant vegetation, idyllic climate... The ministry of Marine and the king granted him with honorific titles and large amounts of money. The fraud was only discovered years and years after, but, by chance for him, Kerguélen was already dead. Interesting to know : the Kerguelen's expedition was in fact run by two ships, but a violent storm seperated them. The second one, under the commandment of Louis François Aléno de Saint-Alouarn, usually called ''chevalier de Saint-Alouarn'', born in Guengat, a village just on the skirt of Quimper, continued its way, till landing on an unknown coast. Saint-Alouarn buried in the sand of the beach a bottle in which he put a letter saying he was taking possession of this land ''in the name of the king of France'', and keeping a copy of this letter in his possession. On his way back to France, he felt ill and finally died in the Ile Bourbon (now Ile de la Réunion), not able to make his discovery official to the king and to the Ministry of Marine. So, he never knew he had discovered, three years before Cook clamed the land for the benefit of England... Australia ! The bottle with the message of Saint-Alouarn was effectively found by scientists just a few years ago.

The many footbridges over the river Odet are the only souvenirs of the once rich houses owned by the Quimper bourgeoisie on the left bank of the river. The Quai Dupleix - the nowadays avenue along the left bank - was built in 1969, ending the period of private rich properties on this bank. Since there was no other way to join these properties, each one being seperated by walls from the neighbour, the only way to go there was through these footbridges, each property having its own. When the Quai Dupleix was completed, from the nowadays Cinema Arcades building, wich stands on the location of the former Cinéma Odet-Palace, to the Théâtre Municipal now called Théâtre Max-Jacob, the question was : should these footbridges be demolished, or kept as they were ? Hopefully, the first option was choosen. In spring, summer and autumn, the municipal Service des Parcs et Jardins (the gardening service) covers the parapets of all of them as the bridges ones with magnificent flowers pots. The scenery is gorgeous. There is only one footbridge added after the Quai Dupleix being finished : it is the Passerelle Max-Jacob, designed by the famous artist Gérard Garouste, inaugurated in 1994, for the 50th anniversary of the death of Max Jacob, a poet born in Quimper, arrested and deported by the hitlerian forces because he was Jewish, who died in the Camp de Drancy, near Paris, before they could send him to Auschwitz. This footbridge architecture includes many references to the poet.

There are about 36000 towns and villages in France, and countless picturesque villages like this one. Unfortunately, for many visitors, particularly from US, France = Paris. France is about the same size as Texas, with a population around 70 million. Tons of places to explore and discover here.
