Stacy Leith

Hi, I'm Stacy. I'm a tinkerer at heart, and usually the first person people turn too when something is broken. I'm a qualified Motor Vehicle Mechanic and Auxiliary Electronics Installation Technician (Proper fancy way to say I can fit stereos and speakers, subs, amps, bluetooth kits, etc, into cars!).

I decided to film all these repairs, and start getting more into repairing/refurbishing retro gaming consoles and games, kind of mashing 2 of my hobbies together. So if that's your jam, stick around. I post videos once or twice a week, usually on Wednesday and Friday.

And thanks for checking me out.

I saw you checking the voltage of everything, expect the cable. Always check the cable first. I have a controller that's "dead", just found the cable is broken from the inside (the wires).

When cleaning with a toothbrush, I tore off a piece of the rubber part that I believe was the membrane. Can this be fixed or can I throw it away?

I have two of these one works perfectly, except the number one key, I had to type it out as it doesn't work lol. The other just causes random things to happen when it is switched on, like typing by itself, closing apps and worst of all moving stuff to the recycle bin. This is the one I took apart it's possessed lol. Gave up trying to fix them and bought a coupe,e of used ones from eBay.

Great idea! I'm in a place where I have no access to any tools. I've been trying to come up with an idea like this without success....no microwave either, but I'll figure a way to heat it up. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THE IDEA! 🤟🥳

So i typed in A1314 in search and saw all the lovely keyboards in your thumbnail and had to click it. Then I heard some lakey inspired track I dropped and the icing on the cake is you properly credited the artist. This video made my night! I just frankensteined two of my A1314's together to get this one im using to work again I've had it since like 2008 or 2009. Great key travel compared to all the new stuff out. Thank you for crediting!

come on these are super cheap and not a real rework station if you have a look inside its prob about £10 tech I have one of the same models but I know not to push that bad boy because it will just melt buy a good 2nd had one will cost more than this bit of crap but will last forever if you treat it right buddy ps look for older model likes like 90s version you will find that they are well made not like the 862d+

Thanks, it worked perfectly! I used an old wool sock and an oven since I don't have a MW, I set the oven at 120 C and turned it off as soon as it reached temperature. I had two food termoemters so I used them to measure the temperature inside the oven and inside the sock (I took out the sock when the core reached 70 C while the oven was 100 C). Please be cautious if you use the oven without thermometers since many times the real temperature is very different than the one set (in my case the real T is way higher). Having a bowl of water near could be a good idea, just in case :)

Did you get finally a reply? Same Yihua brand different models, similar issue, cannot measure the temperature (always "000") & leads to over heating.....mine rather new (6 mths) & used only maybe 5-6 times :(

Thanks for the video mate I'm trying to make one for myself. Since I don't have rice and I replaced it with nuts, I put it in microwave and set it to 10sec, it does heat up. But then I do another 10sec, socks is flashing, sparkling inside the microwave, I quickly pull the plug, STSOFM I wonder if that's the socks or the nuts causing fire. I look up on Internet, some reddits said the tried to put clothes in microwave and caught on fire, almost burn down the house. (1) May I ask what material was your socks made of? (2) Is rice better doing the job?

This video is a total waste of time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that board. In fact there is almost never anything wrong with the board on DualShock 2 controllers. It's always the thin conductive circuit board that's absolute trash and needs to be replaced. Buy a new one or transfer it from a working controller and you're done.
