Todd Smith

Todd Smith

Todd is passionate about The Work of Byron Katie, a simple way to question any stressful thought and turn it around. He has been practicing The Work since 2007 and he loves to share his enthusiasm for it with others. In this channel, you will find many videos of Todd facilitating participants from his weekly Open Sessions.

You will start to recognize the four questions of The Work of Byron Katie:

1. Is it true?
2. Can you absolutely know that it's true?
3. How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?
4. Who would you be without the thought?

And you will become familiar with the turnarounds (opposites) and examples of how the turnarounds could be as true as the original stressful thought.

The process is the same each time, but the subject matter covers a wide range of topics. In addition to facilitation videos, you will also find many videos of Todd sharing his thoughts and experiences related to how to do The Work and how to go deeply into many topics.

Yes, of course. That's is never the purpose of The Work. We're just looking for enough balance to unhook from the victim stance.

I don't imagine, I just wait and listen. Once Katie said sometimes it's just being able to breathe. That helped me immensly. Without a story, I can take a breath that is a bit more free . I can relax a little bit more. Just a bit. And then I see other things.

I love Byron Katie and her work/Work. But I must say that your videos and website has helped me a lot, Todd along with Ernest Holm Svendsen's videos as well. It's so nice that we have all of these resources to help us find a way out of suffering and stress. I love what you said about not forcing turnarounds but that they must be genuine. I sometimes struggle with this in that I try to emulate Katie and her mannerisms and it doesn't feel genuine. That's how I found your work, Todd when you did a video on Katie being a hindrance to us at times. Keep up the good work, mate.

I always go about, what I believe I need from him, and I fear to lose. In this case I ask, what do I think I need? I need him to not be mad at me? I need him to love me? I need his love? I can’t lose his love? To find the source of a fear, you always find “I need” that’s the source of all madness of the mind

Why I hear meditation is demonic and people are exposed to demonic but some people like spending 30 years of meditation and seem like nothing dangerous please explain I need help I am confuse???

Everyone has a different story of what meditation is. For me, meditation is simply a way of coming back to myself. The only danger in this to me is that I may lose who I thought I was (my false identities) as I come back to be who I naturally am.
