Can I use ELEMENTS to cone6?*
yes. The color will shift and will move much more at that temperature. We have the cone 6 swatches on our website
Could you tell me what is the reference for the very bright blue stroke & coat used on the large blue plate with the white leaf pattern drawn on it and which is presented at the start of the video? THANKS
What would be the difference if you put the oxide on top of the glaze as compared to the other way around?
Hello , thanks for the explanations about SW Oyster ,the other colors you employed are Sw too .? Or SC is compatível with SW ,does it results no the same effects ?
Stroke & Coat will not be the same as Stoneware. They can be used together for pretty designs!
The dipping version of this glaze is way better. Painting on glaze is so time-consuming and it is absolutely terrible for even base coat coverage. If you want your students to feel bad use paint on glaze😂
Our Stroke & Coat glazes do not come in dipping version.
Hi. This is so cute. Could I achieve this detail, but for cone 6, not have the detail get blurry, and be dinner ware safe? Might need to use different products?
You can use Stoneware Gloss glazes
Thanks!
Appreciate these results ThNk you. I just happened to test Mudcrack over underglaze last week and the results gave a nice background color. But it was a test tile lying flat so it adhered well.
hi..are there options to buy the engobes in a dry format?
Can you do stroke and coat design work over foundations ? Would you need a clear glaze over it ?
Can I use ez stroke over foundations and stroke and coat ?
Manganese is Dark Rutile Green tones
Can I use this kiln wash on cookies? And should I bisque the cookies first? Or can I brush it on green ware then bisque fire? Thanks!
Oh wait I think you said at cone 6!
What temp did you fire the last 3 cups to?
My dark brown vase bloated using the brown on bmix
You can reach out to [email protected] with photos
Do you offer a sample set of these?
They're in the 2024 stoneware kit
Can I mix engobes to make custom colors? I want something between dark brown and speckled buff.
yes
Hello! I love the way you showed to do the inside part of a glass. I have one question though. When we do the dilution of 3 parts of stroke and coat to 1 of water to roll on the inside, is it enough to make the piece food proof? Or I would need a coat of transparent glaze as well?
You should not need to add a clear coat.
I just want whoever runs this channel to know as an intermediate potter who’s just starting to do his own home firings and “ramp up”, the demonstrations and these profiles are why I’m now a Mayco fanboy for life. It’s changed how I glaze for the better!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Is that a new red magma glaze?!!!
Great review by this host. Knowledgeable 👑
Who has the bright idea to film and post an educational video, sales video, in a reduced size portait style. Where we cannot a see a full landscape view. Not very smart…
Because the video was filmed as an Instragram live where the video dimensions are not fit for landscape view. But thanks for your input!
can i also use this engobe for low range firing
No, they need at least a cone 5.
Hi, could you please share the technique used on the vase? Did you used clear glaze on the white flowers? If you could share the full technique that would be awesome!
Cuando son los Workshop
On the vace with white flowers what glaze was used
These videos are so helpful for newer potters
Great info. Product has lots of possibilities.
I'm sorry if I just missed this somehow, but did you say which glazes are over the engobes on the carved test tiles (besides the SW-216)?
Can you use them for cone 10. Could you use them in a wood kiln
You can use at cone 10! For soda firing, please reach out to our technical team at [email protected]
Question. You suggested putting on bisque. Do you just need to let it completely dry and then glaze? Or do you need to bisque before glaze?
You can put on bisque, greenware or wet clay. Let the engobe dry before applying glaze but you don't have to fire the engobe before adding glaze.
I’ve used the speckled buff and brown and they are great! Two coats, no sticking to the shelves at all. So exciting!
If I apply the engobe to my already bisque piece can it goes straight to glaze fire?
Yes
@@MaycoColors thank you! Can I glaze over it in that state, or should I only apply glaze after bisque firing?
You can glaze over the engobe after it's been applied to a bisqued piece. You don't need to fire the engobe first.
I am surprised about the Mayco wax resist! Does it not gum up the brush?
It does, but you can coat the bristles with liquid soap like dish soap to prevent it from ruining the brush.
@@MaycoColors OK, awesome! Thanks!
Can you mix the speckled buff with the brown to get a darker buff?
yes you can
Hi - I have the speckled buff and have tested it thoroughly on my clays. I would like to have it a bit darker, and would like to know if I can blend the speckled buff with a bit of dark brown or brick red to get a darker buff color.
Explanation is confusing
Thanks for the video! How did you create the wood-like pattern/texture on your test tiles?
What is the glaze combo on the large bowl? Thanks!
Will these work on earthenware planters or pottery fired only to Cone 06?
They will not.
Needs to not assume people know what outgassing is
Hi, if we use stroke and coat as base at beginning, , is it necessary to colour it again with stroke and coat for finishing? 5 coat glaze ?? Is that not too much?
Cobblestone has to have a glaze under it to adhere to the piece. The color over is just to color the white cobblestone. If you just want white cobblestone, you do not need to add color over.
Nobody wants metallic on a clay body. The idea is to keep it natural
Thank you for sharing
I love this. What causes the speckles to sort of run? I have a few glazes and they stay solid. Adore the sort of striped affect this glaze is creating on the speckled clay
You dipped your glaze brush in the water bowl that contained the wax resist brush
Bonjour, le vase a 2 poignées, vous l avez peint en blanc en premier ? Ou c est la terre qui a cette couleur ? Merci de votre réponse
Extremely helpful! Thank you!
