I made a few modifications to the lens. First I took off the screw mount by loosening the three screws at the back and reassembled it in a position so that the scales for focus and aperture are in the upright position, when the lens is mounted to the camera. Then I opened the aperture all the way and put a mark on the adapter by scratching off the black color right at the position where the 1.7 number is. When you then turn the aperture ring, you can see to which number the aperture is closed. The third modification is inside the lens, when you set the focus to the nearest position then a silver colored tube is visible on the back which could make inner reflections inside the lens. To minimize this, I painted the tube with black matte color which is used in modelling and available in this tiny containers. The lens has a 35 mm filter thread and I bought also a lens hood for this. The hood has a front thread of 46 mm and on this I screwed a circular polarizing filter. With this modifcations the contrast of the lens is greatly improved by preserving all its character. The best results come out when the lens is stopped down a bit to approx. 4. But this is not a problem at all, because the character of the lens is not archived mainly by depth of field but by the really bad field curvature, which means that even stopped down it is never possible to get sharpness from edge to edge. That makes it a wonderful portrait lens and the bokeh swirls like crazy. When the flaring is too much it also helps to block the incoming light with a hand outside of the frame. Just experiment with it and have fun!
And don't expect that this lens will last forever. It is made for fixed installed CCTV Security Cameras and intended to get mounted and set one time. For this, it is over-engineered but used in photography the mechanics get weak, which is no surprise. After four years, the focus thread on my lens has so much play in it, that it is now super-fiddly to nail the focus, but I had already bought two of them and today I decided to switch to the second one. I can't see any difference, the second copy is quite as good (or bad) as the other one.

Would flashes with modeling lights reduce the need to fiddle with the flash positioning after every shot?
Hi again @verberry. Thanks you so much for your comments and for interacting.The answer to your question is yes and the Neewer Q3 flashes do have a modelling light, albeit a bit dim. I wanted to demonstrate in the video how any type of flash, including those without modelling lamps can be moved and adjusted to obtain the desired lighting effect. Most of all, I want people to lose the fear of moving their lights, camera and subject as the more you experiment, the more confident you feel at controlling the light in your images.
How are you using a Neewer flash trigger on a Panasonic S5?
Good question @veryberry. I am using the Neewer Q Pro Nikon version and it triggers my Q3 flashes perfectly as long as I don't go try to go into High Speed Sync. By the way, the Nikon version of the Neewer Q Pro also triggers the same flashes when used on my Sony ZV E10 as long as I don't try to go into High Speed Sync.

Nice video on the Long Exposure setting. I bought the Pro due to it's long lens which the regular 8 lacks. If it wasn't for that feature, I'd have gotten the 8. Still learning about this camera as only had it a month. As a long time photo enthusiasts, it will be a while before my skill catches up to the cameras ability.

Hi @peterrandal8914 many thanks for your comment. The Osmo Action 3 can take reasonably good 12MP photos. You will need to use the dewarp setting to correct the lens distortion. As the lens is such a wide angle, you will need to reframe the photos by cropping in and that will reduce the size and therefore the quality of the photos when viewed but give it a try anyway as experimenting is always fun. You could have just used the dewarp option and crop to the dimensions you want with photoshop so you dont have to used the digital zoom or use photoshop to dewarp the pics you took and crop them to the size you want......

Hi. Many thanks for your interaction. Most short lenses, including the Sony kit lens 16 to 50mm F3.5 to F5.6 will give you in focus images from 1 or 1.5 metres to infinity at an aperture of F8 or F11

As for the "how" of the Pixel 8 long exposure it basically records a series of photos and does some computational photography behind scenes. On iphones you can do it by making a Live photo and then in the Photos app when you click on Live option you will have a Long exposure option in the menu, iphone will use the frames of the live photo to create the long xposure shot. Therefore on both devices you will see the same shutterspeed for both normal and long exposure photo.

Hi @IngVision Many thanks for your comment. I hope you liked the video. So I took a very small piece of that thick double-sided silicone tape which is so popular at the moment and stuck it to the back of the mic transmitter then I stuck a small round button-like powerful magnet to the silicon tape and put another of the magnets under my sweater. I picked up the magnets in a pack of 10 on AliExpress for less than 2 dollars. And in answer to your question, no it will not fit in the charging case with the magnet and tape connected but it is easy to remove the magnet and tape and put it on again for the next shoot. Keep watching. If I find a better solution I will let you know.

@@IngVision I am very happy with the mics as wireless mics. I have not tried the internal storage yet but when I have fully used them I will probably make a video about them. What do you think of the audio in the video where I am using the Ulanzi mic? I made very small audio adjustments to reduce echo from my audio file. My small studio has a low ceiling which creates echo.

Very thorough and well-thought-out presentation. I too went with Action 3 over Action 4. I watched many a video comparison between the two, and yes, the A4 does have a few better attributes, but I felt many of the videos I watched with the A4 had exaggerated, or pronounced colors, whereas the A3 had more true-to-life colors and weren't exaggerated making a more realistic rendition of the subject videoed. The low light was more pronounced with the A4, but I felt even though the A3 didn't show as much in low light, I felt that the videos were cleaner, clearer, and more defined than the A4. The A4 seemed muddy to me and undefined in low light. Also, the A4 seemed to have more heating issues than the A3. Other things swayed me to the A3, such as the rubber bottom, which was removed on the A4, so it doesn't slide on a slope, but the price was the big decision-maker over the A4. Good job! You're believable, and you've earned another sub.

I have not compared the footage from the Osmo Action 3 with the Osmo Action 4 but I must say that I am very happy with the quality of footage that I get from my OA3. I also find the rubber base in the OA3 very useful. I bought a Smallrig metal cage for mine and have not had any issues of overheating since then. I am glad that you are happy with your Osmo Action 3 and I hope you enjoy many hours of shooting with it. I have used different external USB C mics and 3.5mm jack mics with the Boya adapter and they have always worked well and given good sound quality. I use it on my ASPC DSLR (Pentax k3 III), with a c-mount to m42 adapter, and m42 mount to Pentax k adapter, together. And it creates some beautiful images. But due to the flange distance it always works like a macro, with a laser thin depth of field. My uni photography tutor and my instagram followers were blown away by it.

Fried Egg Jellyfish. (Mediterranean Jellyfish) latin: cotylorhiza tuberculata It has a mild sting, not really painful, but really itchy. I personally haven't been stung by a jellyfish in my life, but that's all i know about this beautiful oceanic fried egg. :)))

Beware of the selfy stick. It comes with a 1/4 screw mount on the bottom but that is just a ~ 2 cm long plastic piece that is pushed in the bottom. I almost cracked the camera's screen because the whole thing broke off from my tripod when I moved it (with the stick on the shortest length that is) because the bottom piece came out of the bottom.

DJI 4 crushes the 3 in low light shooting by a 500% improvement factor. Hands down.
Many thanks for your comments @jjoutback that is so good to know. Low light shooting could be an issue for some users of the Osmo Action 3 as the sensor is smaller than the Osmo Action 4's. That isn't the case for my use of the OA3 as I use it for behind the scenes videos with studio lighting so it never pushes the ISO value requirement up. Can you help me, I purchased one but I don’t know if there’s something wrong with the c mount or lens itself. It works sometimes but not all the time, it says on the screen to check if the lens is attached even though it is. Is there a reason why it’s doing it? I have it on my Lumix GH1
Hi @ElGhostPresents. Many thanks for leaving your comments. I use my Fujian 35mm F1.7 CCTV lens on my Sony ZV-E10 mirrorless APS-C camera. To get my camera to allow me to use this lens, as it has no electronic contacts, I had to enter the camera's menu and turn on the function "Shoot Without Lens" so that it would work. Have you done that? I have looked on the Internet and I have seen that the Lumix GH1 also has this mode in the Custom Menu. I hope that this solves your problem and that you have fun using this amazing little lens! Take care and be safe, Andy

I just bought eight of the Godox TL30s, two of the four light kits. I didn't even know these lights existed, I would have considered them, I have some Ulanzi QR mounts and they are great. I assume that like the Godox, these can be ran while they are charging for longer form content like a podcast? I'm using them to light up walls for a video podcast, these probably would have been fine and they are almost half the cost of the Godox.

Still, I am sure that the Godox TL30s will also give you good service in spite of costing more. What I love about the Ulanzi VL110s is the way they can snap together to form one long light of the same colour or each section on a different hue and intensity!. In answer to your question, yes you can power them via USB C whilst they are charging. I use 20000 mah external batteries connected to my stand using Ulanzi magic arms and a cheap telephone holder.
