Electric Rides

I'm just a guy with a camera riding, modding, or just talking about e-bikes! I'm no expert ebike mechanic but I love to tinker and mod my bikes to get the most out of what they can do. Come along with me on a ride, review some awesome ebikes or other PEV, or go over some ebike news or new releases.

I'd love to partner/collaborate to try out your EBike/PEV product : [email protected]

You can run the chain guard like that to compensate for the longer chain ring bolts, or you can go with shorter chain ring bolts and discard the guard. Also might experience an issue with chain length, as you are usually ok, going up or down 2 teeth on the same length chain. You went with a difference of 12 teeth, so you will need a longer chain.

Those pictures showing the bike being easily picked up are misleading. It is fairly heavy.

I don't fully understand the need for the dual battery balancer. I just paralleled mine after fully charging both (both are 13s). Charging one, charges both at same time after they are paralleled. Since Li-ion is fairly linear voltage range, the 2 packs stay well balanced with each other. Is it more of a safety concern to use one of these? Nice video BTW.

What about Tannus solid foam tires? I really do not like to change my tubes every once in a while even though if it is once a year. I literally hate it flat tires

Great video. Now I've decided to use the wheel lock as a secondary lock and maybe a kryptonite heavy duty chain. Since they can all be defeated maybe the thief will just move on to an easier target.

I hope you see this since KZread stopped posting my reviews for some unknown reason. I've always been respectful. Anyway, I just order my Rad e-trike. I have been researching e-trikes for 2 months and I have looked at a lot of trikes. I too expected racks and suspension. But I was able to get the 1 free accessory if I order June 6th I still believe it's a really well made e-trike but I'll let you know when it arrives. Rad Power e-trike is the ONLY company that I could actually get in touch with. They promptly answered all my question both email and phone with a real person. No one else did that. Customer service is very important so I feel as though I purchased my e-trike from a company that I can trust. Plus the price has come down considerably.

My HJM Trike has a place ment for a second battery. The seat of my trike flips up and it has mounting holes meat to install a holder for a second battery and has a plug ment for it. I thought how nice it would be have a second one but I never go over 30 miles on my bike. But if I take more than one trip a day it would be nice not to have to charge the main battery a second time.

I currently have a 48v system and my bike is already set up to take dual batteries. (Dost Kope) - Since Dost went out of business last year I can't purchase their high-priced 2nd battery, so I want to add a 2nd, 3rd party battery. And since my bike is already set up for a dual battery system I am assuming I don't need any kind of battery balancer? Also, the 2nd battery plug is not anything I've seen available, so I think I would need to remove the plug and just use the wire that currently feeds the plug to wire in the new plug or battery directly. correct?

I wonder if I could 3D print in sections that fit together out of TPU Nylon or ABS that go in the tire first to create a barrier about an inch thick. 3D prints can be printed hollow so that weight very little. I think the hard part would be preventing the 3D parts from pinching the tube. Maybe using the double tube method or Mr. Tughfy with the 3D printed parts? I have only had 2 flats in about 1200 miles, one was very slow and I could have lived with it just adding air every couple of days, the other was a large screw that went through broke in half and put multiple holes in the tube as I slowed from 30 to 0. I have double tubed after each one.

Bought the lectric 3.0 it was a piece of junk. It fell out of my passenger seat on my semi truck and broke in half at the hinge. They wouldn’t honor my warranty because it was just a few days over the expiration date. I pulled all the parts off of it so have a good replacement motor system if I need it though lol. I just went to the SLC Rad store and bought the Expand 5, out the door price was 1975$ tax, assembly and all. (I’m a trucker who rides all the time when on my downtime)

I think main plus point is weight carrying capability on the plus 3 otherwise you can change all components, brakes, seat, light even add battery. The rad runner 3 is an improvement over the 2 other then the front suspension and I also prefer the previous Plus models retro look. I’ve seen the old plus with dual battery the additional battery was fitted in the same place where the semi integrated battery is fitted on the plus 3 model. I believe it’s better placed central rather then underneath rear seat that will be rear end heavy and with someone on the back 😩
