Great affirmation however, there is barely any space or time to repeat the affirmation before the next one is said.

That professor was out of line for saying that. Regardless of their opinion the purpose of critique and academic advising us to provide CONSTRUCTIVE feedback and support. I am so sorry you got the opposite of that. If I were you I would be seething - I know myself and have had less than helpful professors! But nothing that out of line. I did have an MFA painting professor declare “you move so slowly!” (Hello, I’m severely depressed! My beloved parent passed away and my work is about grief). And similar digs at my character. Showing the art we make can be very vulnerable and art school should teach us to be discerning about whose criticism matters, but instead it’s a town hall open mic approach (at least in grad school all of your peers have to participate). Anyways, you’ve had a beautiful journey healing. Reiki and acupuncture are amazing. Thank you for sharing!

It seems like your channel is no longer adding new content but I just want to acknowledge how much work and thought you put into the videos I've watched so far. They are definitely very insightful and valuable for those of us who have just begun this journey. I hope you will reconsider coming back to your channel because you've got something special ❤

I have it kinda lucky cause of my own background dealing with mental health issues i know what path i wanna persue. I wanna help the autistic community (and possibly those who struggle with self destructive behaviors. I know i would need to do research on this) and work with the geometric shapes and zentangle using wood burning (pyrography) as the medium. I know there can be risks working with those with self destructive behaviors and having a burning tool but i dont wa t to limit my practice to people who can really benefit from this type of art. I know for me when i got into pyrography it was a game changer cause i was still able to destroy something (the wood) which satisfied that need but do it in a way that was very calming, very tactile and ended in a wonderful art piece. Seeing my pain and anger be burned into the wood as a bruised, cut up teddy bear was a very intense healing experience for me. I want to share that with other people.

Im thinking of pursuing art therapy. For me i struggle with mental health issues. For a long time i didnt know what issues those were (therapists did little help) in my pursuit to finding out why i am the way i am i came to love psychology. Ive had a very tough life with childhood trauma and incarnation later in life. While incarcerated i had nothing to do so i wrote. I wrote stories and i sae that despite the teachers growing up i was pretty good at it. I originally thought i wanted to be a writer of some kind. But then i started to draw as well. That invigorated me like no story was able to. Im autistic so my art is quite usual in its geometric shapes but ive had people say it's amazing. After my incarnation i started to dive deeper into my art more as a therapeutic form for me. Through therapy we did art from an art therapist and it intrigued me very much. I started to do research on it. Given my incarnation background and mental health issues i kept thinking i can never be an art therapist but as im doing more research on the topic i see it is an option i can pursue. Also seeing the ages people started their art therapy path gives me courage to see that i still have time. Thank you

I’m going through a very heartbreaking break up and it’s making me very depressed. A new chapter in my life is coming, I am moving to a new city, and to be frank…. It’s terrifying. I really feel so unsure about the future and where my life will go. I pray to God I will make it through this transition and life will only look better from here onward.

I worked with a Real Property Commercial Property Assessor Field Supervisor (State Of Maryland). She was previously an Art Therapist at a State Mental Hospital. With constant budget cuts she eventually was laid off. She pursued a completely different career path with the State of Maryland.

If I have a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling already is there a way for me to get licensed in this specialty still? I just found out that Art Therapy is a thing, and I’m super excited because I have always loved art- if I can use it to help my clients then it would be a dream come true!
