I’m a one-man HVAC shop working the trade for over 30 years, self-taught from trial and error, Doing installs, repairs, and maintenance for Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning; my channel consists mainly of videos doing those things. Started my business in 2006. I recently started having my 19-year-old son work with me to learn what it takes in this business. This way, he will have some skills to make things happen.

Hard Start Kit
Dragging a hose is easier than setting that up, getting power, filling a bucket and hauling it in most cases
That’s your call, this year alone I had 3 calls where both outside spigots were broke. This set up saved me. Getting power is not a big deal. Use a Milwaukee top off, Works flawlessly.
Good job but never do this. Lol
If you’re in a pinch, do this lol.
Nice!
Nice video, but would be nice to actually see how to remove the top/wiring. All the rest seems pretty self-explanatory.
Use a roto-hammer to tap out the old motor.
I hope the component isn't polarized - you should always try to replace in the same orientation as the old one. Funny how you called it 4 different names :D
Manufacturer "fixed" this issue by potting the entire unit.😈😈
Yup, I have had to replace the whole entire motor.
@@ADVANHVAC On older units where everything else was ok, I have replaced the ECM system with an old school blower motor control board and an appropriate size and speed/s split capacitor motor. You'll lose a little efficiency but save a butt ton of money. Some folks can't afford a new system at the drop of a hat.
@weaverp1 yes for sure you have to do what you have to do.
5:45 You need to hold your solderingiron longer on those leads till the solder flows around it, your periods are too shorts which will lead to cold brittle joints to break in the future.
Thank you.
@@ADVANHVAC flux and leaded solder is helpful to avoid cold solder joints
You may want to make people aware of the two large capacitors. Those can give you a nasty zap if you don't discharge them with a resistor. They may have a bleeder resistor in the circuit, not sure. Better safe than sorry
That is a great point. Thank you.
@@bobsoft you can measure across capacitor leads. Anything in the single digits is fine.
My fan stopped same unit from 1976. If I pull the breaker, is it a pretty straight forward swap? There is a Capacitor I’ll probably swap also?
Possibly! Look for the obvious.burnt wires or just a bad capacitor.
@@ADVANHVAC thank you 🙏
Gas is obsolete. Solar/ battery backup generator.
They still are paying me to gas pipe. I go with what I know.
Good job.
Thanks!
DigiKey has the Inrush Current Limiter 1 Ohms ±20% 20 A 0.866" (22.00mm). NTC Thermistor. $1.94 + Shpg. The SL32 looked like 2 Ohms.
Good to know.
Great looking transition. Nice install.
You are awesome! Thank You!
Is it only required to pull a vac on the larger suction line or can the small suction line be used as well for evacuation before opening the valves ?
Great video. Any chance you found a 90° nozzle tip for using on mini splits? I ordered one, should be here on Saturday. I liked it bc you can connect to 110. The battery-operated ones seem to cost a lot more. Thanks again.
No, I do have the old school washers with the orange tank and built in battery. Those were really expensive.
You took it off at the wrong side. It is supposed to be spliced before the meter.
😆
Are there any links to order online?
Order what online my friend?
@@ADVANHVAC the bosch ids 2 ton
@@gerrylewis553 unfortunately not. Those are distribution based only.
Brand new and you didn't warranty it?!?!?!!!
@@kevinroberts781 read the pinned comment.
Great systems too perfect of work 😮
Drop the background music
Naw, I like it thanks for watching.
Your going to wish you installed that generator away from your deck and I let my generator run for three days with no problems never shut it down once in my area power outage is not uncommon I have one once a year it’s been 12 years since I installed mine still running great so it should last a good long time.
I install a lot of them Duncan’s/Lenox and I’ve realized a lot of them have LG compressors in them. I put four hard starts on in the past month.
This one was a 13 Seer and has Copeland Scroll, you are correct the new ones have LG. Knock on balsa wood that I have not have had any issues with any of them.
@@ADVANHVAC lol rightt
That's the name of the game I tell ya
Very nice install!!! Love the 🎶!!!
Wow, brand new unit tripping the breaker? I guess hard start as a temporary fix but I’d say you probably need to check that compressor.
Read pinned comment.
When changing from 3 phase to single phase the wiring size should have been increased and the breaker resized as well. Not resizing the wiring could have increased the voltage drop and increased the amperage draw as well.
Would it be okay to bury the line?
It would have to be the yellow pipe for it to be buried. Its plastic pipe for underground.
Warranty I think should of been best solution
Why? Did you read my pinned comment? Its been a year and everything is running as it should.
Hey you’re back… nice😏
Just a hint from a 40 year HVAC contractor .... dont install bottom line pile of JUNK builder model crap and you want have compressor issues from day one. Enough said. You can think me later
Agreed that's why I don't. 😂
Them pads are ugly af but I love the Bosch’s
Replacing a standard AC motor with an Chinesium Motor/PWM Controller is going backwards in reliability! 🙄
That was not a standard motor. It was an ECM. This is YORKS upgrade. This is why I don't install JCI anymore.
@@ADVANHVAC - With all the modern residential HVAC equipment today. I'd rather fix 20y/o hdw than drop $10-30K on this new & improved, guaranteed to fail 10 days past warranty period stuff. It seems like there's an epidemic of Chinesium parts on them, which means early failures!
@xxxxxxxxxx6903 I agree the older stuff that was made 30 years ago was built way better. Maybe not as efficient but built. The new stuff is geared to saving more money on the usage of Electric and Gas.
I’m going to show how OCD I am there’s no support after the gas meter🎉🎉🎉🎉
It's just fine! Thanks for watching 😁
Cheater cord
Bc they purchased a Garbage ass LG compressor. purchase an ac condenser w/ a Copeland Scroll
That's too bad! The Armstrongs used to have Copland Scrolls in them. I just confirmed with my supplier and you are correct they do have LG.This 13 Seer does have a Copeland scroll.
Not sure heavy duty cleaner is good for that customer’s lawn 😬
They have to mow it more now. 😁
6:57 Aluminum Rigid Offset wrenches are your friend, invest in a 14" and 18'.
Thanks just got a crescent and Rigid delivered today from home depot. Thank you for the suggestion.
@@ADVANHVAC Your welcome you will love them, they put the correct angle for leverage.
You should use a permeant marker and mark the stab depth of the fitting so you KNOW it is in deep enough.
That exact thing happened to me today 😡😡😡
It sucks.
Does this happen to be a Concord or an Air Ease condensing unit?
Armstrong
@@ADVANHVAC I had to put a hard start kit on a brand new AirEase (Armstrong) AC 2 months ago. Literally installed a full furnace and AC swap out. Pulled a vacuum. Opened service valves and first turn on……hummmmm. That’s happened twice on AirEase.
@rsmotox1 😮 really.
@@ADVANHVAC yeah it’s unfortunate bc I love the performance of the units. Their prices are getting out of hand as well (comparable to Bryant now. So I’ve decided to switch to using Bryant. Love the channel by the way. .
@rsmotox1 yes I know what you mean. I give my customers choices between Bosch, Armstrong, and Concord they seem to levitate towards Concord.
Hopefully it is not China “Bosch”
Is there any other?
Excellent work
3 Ton not 2!
This one is a 2-ton. By flipping the switch and matching evap coil.
Do you have to but a regulator on the line or was it just straight piped also wis the larger pipe size because of the distance the gas has to travel
Correct due to the length and the BTU that the generator pulls have to run the bigger line. No regulators on anything.
How much should a job like this cost me, guesstimate.
$500-$800
Multi split we had from 1988 in our home ( my father paid a fortune to install it , Daikin ) it worked fine above 25 years , i remember my room it was like freezer all the summer. Nice work
Hi, i need such help for myself too..But idk anything about fuses and such, so i cant risk doing it myself..My landlord can’t help either.. need to do something about this stupid noise..
JUST WISH I could do it 1/2 as fast as YOU !!! 🥵🥵
