  just reading this book now-interesting to read that when gillespie was at school, a teacher , out of the blue, showed the class the movie "if..." by lindsay anderson- exactly the same thing happened at our school- i am about the same age as bobby gillespie , and one of our teachers showed my class part of the same movie (the famous scene where the pupils are shooting guns at all and sundry)- it was not part of any subject at school, and there was no discussion about what we had just watched- we just watched it and that was it- it was almost as if after being brainwashed by the school system for over 12 years, the educational system were prepared to give us a glimpse of subversive rebellion, and that was all we were getting- it was weird and i have always remembered it - it was also odd that this was in 1976, well before video cassettes were available, and i distinctly remember it being shown via a tv screen

  I wish I could still listen to and appreciate Primal Scream. Unfortunately, Bobby G and the band have shown their true colors once again. They've turned their social media into propaganda outlets for Hamas. I always knew Bobby G an asshole, he was terrible to his band members - just look at Denise Johnson and Martin Duffy, may they rest in peace. Check out the open letter from Louie Duffy, Martin's son if you want to know more. And yes, Bobby G supported the boycott of Israel, the BDS movement. While I didn't agree with it, I considered it his personal viewpoint. But the big question is, why hasn't Primal Scream ever played in Palestine? Too good for the West Bank or Gaza? And what about Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen or Qatar? Are they just paying lip service? Supporting 'Free Palestine' has always been hip. Now, Primal Scream has joined the shameful crowd supporting Hamas, an organization responsible for murdering, raping, and mutilating over 1,400 people and taking more than 240 people hostage, including six Britons killed and another ten missing. Has Bobby G or Primal Scream condemned these horrific acts or demanded the hostages' return? No. They just mindlessly repost Palestinian and extremist propaganda, not bothering to fact-check. Primal Scream's social media is devoid of anything music-related now. It seems this is what happens when an artist becomes a nostalgia act, no longer relevant. RIP, Primal Scream.

  Your loss. Caring about artist's personal views and habits is juvenile. I used to be the same way. Most artists will let you down, some are brilliant and insane at the same time, it's not that serious.

  When a band claim to be a "band for the people" whilst harbouring tory ideals is just fake. Abusing the very people that got them where they are today. It's a gain finding out that they are true champagne socialists. Its not juvenile to realise this. Money has changed Gillespie and Innes, the majority who were there when Screamadelica came around have noted this and arnt there any more. If saps like you want to carry on propping up this shit show, feel free. Rest in Power Duff 🙏

  Thank you for letting me know about another reason to support and appreciate Primal Scream. I looked into it, and they have been ahead of their time, speaking out against the occupation since at least 2018. Good for them.

  The perfect Popsong. Slightly over 2min. Period. But here for Janice Long they play two strophes where else on the 12'' Single Creation EP the song is only 1:20min. long...btw, I own that 12'' single since 1986 :-)
