Robert van Embricqs is fascinated by the aesthetically pleasing, yet intricate complexity of the natural form. Finding inspiration for his designs in bone structure, plant life and movement, one question remained ever present:‘to what degree is the object you're creating capable of dictating its own design?’
This question in mind led him to develop a minimalistic design approach that can best be described as a balanced collaboration between designer and his material. This gives the material the opportunity to blossom in the designated way shape or form with the help of the creator as a conductor.

@robertvanembricqs Hi, was wondering if I can order one piece for my home office
Genial
I now understand why Robert is taking such a huge amount. This desk is worth the amount.
It's worth what the market will pay for it. I could make that same desk and sell it for $500, easy.
@@AndrewDeLong have you tried making the desk?
@@AndrewDeLong Let me know when you get one made and see how much you think its worth then 😂
@@olduglyentwife5700 I've made tables and desks before. Something like that? $500, tops.
This is my love
looks uncomfortable
kzread.info/dash/bejne/fqebtNFpl7TKkso.htmlsi=_t9IzBxEsMXbf1WI This kid is showing people how to make it themselves because he thinks it’s overpriced.

He’s really hot. 😍

what software do you use to animate?
❤So cool!
where can you buy such a table
How much weight can this bear? It looks like leaning against it for writing would break it.
OMG, I need this in my life!
2650 balles 🤣🤣
Hello sir. What type of hinges did you use? I really want to know. Thank you.
I wanted one until I saw the price. I’ll stick to my Walmart foldable table that came with 4 chairs. 😐
How much?
@@mugen1326 was a while ago when I checked. But I remember it to be several thousand u.s. dollars
It's quite expensive, but definitely very cool.
love it. clever design and looks great.
We absolutely love this!! Please show us how to make it or better yet, give us a price to make it for us! Lol!! Not being carpenters, we couldn't make this at 67 years old. But we would buy it!
2600 dollar that's around 3 years salary without any expenses 😂😂
I wanted one but the 3k price point changed my mind lol..maybe in the future cuz I still think it’s really cool.
400$ on Amazon
@@clouds2351that’s a lot more reasonable lol
Genial tu diseño capo total 👏👏👏
A very nice design. I wonder how practical the design is but so far i think its simply beautiful. Also: for all the people who are complaining about the price. The investment costs of developing such a table should also be taken into account, and i assume he is making the products by himself so it generally seems labor intensive and there for expensive.
Where can I place my orders. I love the other furniture too
It's $2800 usd
How much brand new?
I really loved this piece but even more than that I loved the orange circle sofas
Hola me podría.dar.las medidas xfa
How amazing would this be in a modern japandi library?! 😍
As a work of experimental art, it is beautiful and the artist deserves a lot of credit. But as a functional everyday desk, personally I'd pass. I'm not sure if this desk has a latch to prevent it from folding up if you leaned against it too hard, but personally this doesn't seem durable and stable enough to actually work on even if it had something like that.
What are the dimensions of this table?
Is it comfortable?
OMG BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE, can I buy?
What happens when you press down on the front edge? It appears that will make it fold up, which is not really what I want in a desk!
I agree, there should be a locking mechanism or safety measure in place
Three thousand bucks? Well they'll sell a couple for that price. It's worth about $500 for the clever design and the premium wood. I'll wait for the knockoff to hit Walmart for $99. Too bad for the designer; a reasonable price might have made you some decent returns. For greed you get squat.
100%
I made it out of a lovely walnut for about £50 all-in. Whoever is selling this for 3 grand is a complete knob.
It's worth whatever someone will pay for it.
@@thesaint8400 LOL!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Yeah, Knob !!! ROFL
As I always say to people who don't like the cost of handmade items, feel free to make it yourself. Another fellow here on KZread did just that, which is what brought me here My time is worth what my time is worth. I don't own a sweatshop with full of impoverished children, and I don't have the time, skills, or equipment to build a piece like this. I notice this comment was made a year ago, and I have yet to see anything like this at Wal-Mart or anywhere else for $99, so I guess the OP is still editing for that knockoff.
Releasing the plans to this would do the world a favor, as I could likely construct one for myself for far less than the 3,000-dollar asking price. Thank you.
Do you have the facilities for that big man
kzread.info/dash/bejne/n6OE05aFk6ypnMo.html
Easy to find how-to's on this design. I made one really cheaply. Beware that the design is really impractical and applying weight to it, as you might with any desk, can cause it to fold up. Frankly, it's not a great desk at all.
@@thesaint8400 I was wondering the same. It needs some kind of latch at the back of the tables plate to keep it from unfolding again. Where have you found plans for the measurements? I feel like the design is pretty simple, but knowing the exact measurements for the grooves is what makes it look flowing
Beautiful, Clever, Functional.
we are wandering with a group of friends about the stability of the piece, perhaps one might want to have a cup of tea while reading....
I had same concern. The website linked says "Features brass hinges, providing durability and stability that has a large weight capacity up to 18 kg, 40 Lbs to support your daily use."
@@SpackJarrow94 thank you, you are very kind
Hy Can i get the drawing of this table For me to understand the concept
lol. You want free plans?
How to make this table
How do the vanes pivot / attach to each other? - very clever, making my head hurt trying to understand this construction
They are attached to the desktop with hinges. The outer veins have a hinge at the top and are attached to the wall, the rest of the veins have a wire running through them. It’s a very simple and elegant design
@@markbailor7207 Thanks Mark. I’d got as far as the hinges, but had assumed some sort of slot in the side of each vanes and a pin on the other to allow it to slide up ne down and rotate. Hadn’t thought of a wire (much simpler). I can see the wire tensioning nut now. But how does the wire work as it is a much shorter distance when closed vs open. Or does the wire run in a curved shape when shut perhaps?
@@thomaswright8584’m actually wondering too how the wire can work like how can it extend
Every slat except for the ends is slotted, and there is a solid rod that slides through the slots.
Rubert gun me eentje🤣 2200 is mijn linker en rechter nier, teveel drankjes
Absolutely amazing - how do I buy one?!
When will it be available to purchase?
It's up for purchase on his website at $2800.00 usd
Can just send me even at the email
Am from africa what do you put at the middle for that kind of bending
Absolutely unique! love it
how much weight can the table sustain? what kind of wood is it made of?
Weight was my first concern when looking at this video. It seems that side bar (which connects all the ribs) would transfer all the load to 2 points and then through 2 last ribs (on left and right) into the wall anchors. I checked out website in video description "Features brass hinges, providing durability and stability that has a large weight capacity up to 18 kg, 40 Lbs to support your daily use."
If the desk were to be mounted on three vertical tracks, then it could be made height adjustable.
Привет! Классное кресло! Из какого материала?
