This’s my journey to becoming a truck driver. I previously work for Amazon as a yard jockey. I wanted to make some real money, so I decided to join Schneider after receiving my CDL. I got my tanker endorsement and I’m currently working on receiving my hazmat. Subscribe to my Chanel and follow me on this great journey.

I LOVE MY JOB!!!
Gotta love Amazon they gave me that skill now I make 33hr to move like 20 trailers in 8hrs lol😂 I thank them everyday for giving me the ability then firing me.or I probably still be with them doing more moves for less money. I work in the north east if anyone was wondering
❤ I have an interview tomorrow.
What company are you working for now? I have an interview tomorrow and test with an exchange warehouse
Spottin wit monica
All that cursing and fowl language is bad business. It's guy's like you that make it hard for everybody. Where is safety protocol at. Moving trailers at night without lights, DAMNNNNN.
All that space. At the rail I work at the spots start at the yellow square and the train track replace the other end. Most tinea chassis are lined up length wise taking out 2 feet of space. Basically backing is so tight that the difference between making it and hitting another trailer is literally 5 inches. They auto fire if you hit anything so basically make sure you have two spaces before you back
My friend I got a start date with Sysco but still haven’t heard anything from background check ? How long does it take
Do you have an Instagram or Facebook?
Arsenal supporters whos a shunt ? my kinda guy.
How much they pay for training?
How much make your first year ?
Close to 100k
@@truckerolu6899 what state your in ? I’m in Georgia. Also thank you for the fast response.
Back up a double
If I can do 45’ damn sure can move dat 53’
I’m looking into truck driving.. I have no experience so just doing some research on how to get started. A yard jockey is a good way to get started?
If you want to learn how to back up trailers, it’s a good way to start
Most of the time they hire experienced drivers to be yard jockeys they want those trailers backed in fast !
how do you know which trailers go where? I’m looking into this job
They should tell you over radio if not there is a computer in it with the specific move
They will tell you when you sign in at the shipping and receiving office.
But I’m my defense, I’m speaking as a OTR driver, not a yard jockey.
@@DEMENTEGLOCK If there are other jockies in the yard, does everyone just take turns? Hows that work
@@notyourechochamber3137 if they have computers in the trucks like most companies now, moves will appear on the computer, you tap it to “claim” the move. You move the trailer, mark it as complete, it then tells you if they called for a new trailer in dock or if that is the end of your moves for that trailer and to wait for another one. Most yards will divide the yard into areas and assign drivers respectively. If you need help you just give a holler on the CB.
Where do you leave Schneider, bro?
How many days for class and how long
An Arsenal fan and trucker I see...we have a lot in common haha. Big ups
Nobody should ever stand behind the trailer while it's in reverse at any time your people need a saftey guy out there to spot from the drivers passenger 40
Do they have layover routes?
Yes they do, but the senior driver usually have those routes.
@@truckerolu6899 oh ok appreciate it
What Amazon is this
Hey brother thanks for all the info !!! What’s orientation about ?
Paperwork’s and safety’s videos… it boring but you getting pay for it.
Aye bro what did you do for the road test at sysco? Was it easy?
You’ll basically drive around a for 20 minutes in a 38 feet trailer.. it easy.
Screw the 45 degree 90 degrees are way easier to complete self working parking
I love yard jockey work!!😍😍
Where I live they require 2 years of over-the-road experience to be a yard dog
I was at Amazon working with the non inventory department. I got promoted to the transportation department and that video was my first time in any truck. I got my cdl almost a year now and I’m no longer with Amazon.
@@truckerolu6899 I could see amazon doing that I got a P&G and uniliver couple more good jobs here where I live and u got to have 2 years experience..lol
@@johnjoewilliford they’ll train you and you don’t need no experience with them and start you with $20 per hour when I was there last here.
@@truckerolu6899 yeah i still like OTR for now and believe or not we dont have an Amazon round here yet..lol
@@truckerolu6899 but if im not mistaking P&G here starts out at like 25$ hr here
Woooo this is my first week shifting at UPS as well here in SoCal!!!!! I prefer this way over 90 ° back, but it depends on the tandems as well.
I have a peak bud shifting at 1am, I’m not pito trained so I’m doing it in a tractor, ready for peak to be over with
Good video but damn All that cursing at the end wasn't call for
To each is own who tf are you to judge somebody for saying a word
Low intelligence
After the face to face interview did you have to wait on a email?
Yea the process it about two weeks. They need people real bad so if you pass the road test they’ll hire you. Good luck
@@truckerolu6899 I did the road test last Friday just been waiting on the email they said I am supposed to receive. Gonna call Monday to what’s up. How long did it take to get the email?
@@Kevin-oh1ix did you do the drug test as well?
hey i live in md do you work in Baltimore or waldorf
They send me anywhere for real. I don’t have my own route yet
you said, $1800 a week before or after taxes?
Yes. You should average that a week. About 60 hours.
He said before
I was making 3400 after taxes every two weeks so 1700 a week after taxes. Great money. Easy job bad loading. Too much digging.
@@Solecity2 as a new driver or experienced?

Bro am in same situation now my license got suspended yesterday, and will be lifted by 0/01/04/2022 like about 90 days from now, but Schneider already scheduled me to come in for orientation on the 18th of this month, I don't know if I should go or they'll find out during my orientation and training and send me back, I don't want to be in a fix loosing my job here and not able to get into Schneider cause of my suspension.
I would inform them because they’ll find out and send you home during tour training. They have people in Green Bay that look into all those stuff.. i wouldn’t quit my current job if I’m in your situation.
Wow thanks for that information I just got my license back from. A suspension from years ago.. so basically they won’t accept me either based on me just getting my licenses back? I’ll have to wait 3 years clean
Also I never heard of this was your case A DUI OR something like that or it doesn’t matter the charges if you licenses was ever suspended no matter the cause you’ll have to wait 3 years after you got your licenses back? Can you go into more details please because I’m about to join schider and need to know if I should choose another cdl school
My license was suspended and I requested a hearing at the mva court. You basically telling them why you need your license and how you understand the mistakes you made. It wasn’t my CDL tho
Yes sir he got It
Got it in. Didn't hit anything. Looks good to me.
HaHaHa 7 minute video to park in wide open space. I work a crowded RailYard and would have parked that bitch under 45 seconds.
@@JKilted I think he's new.
@@JKilted don’t take me 45 seconds now tho but yea I was in training and getting used to driving a truck I’ve never driven before.
Took long, in some companies they’ll give 7 minutes to back up, 3 conventional side and 4 minutes blind side..!
I passed conventional side and blind side in 3 minutes in tight space.. this guy had it easy and still took long..
did you get your own hotel room or did you share with someone?
You don’t share room with anyone
Your own room.
How many people were In your class ?
Probably about 10 I would say
Keep us updated
No problem
There are so many new drivers, Schneider can afford to let folks go. I’m 5 years in, I could be fired at any point if I screw up big enough. Training was good 👍
True most big companies can afford to let drivers go easy because where can you get a local job as an inexpensive driver
