I love cooking and preparing meals for my friends and family. Now is the time when I want to start creating something of a digital family cookbook of all the things I have learned to cook over the years and during our travels. I hope that you will subscribe and come along with me on this new journey.
Before becoming a stay at home dad I worked in the wholesale meat business for 11 years, and as an English teacher in Japan for 3 years. My wife and I have lived in some amazing places.
Phoenix AZ, San Francisco, Temple TX, Durham NC, Maui HI, Riverside Cal, and Chiba Japan
I look forward to sharing with you some of my favorite foods from these places.

Hello from turkey.I had worked there at 2007 as exchance student.I prepared two or three times. As far as I remember you should add some blue chesee and serve with some itallian toast.
I find I have to knead the dough otherwise it's just too crumbly.
I am very excited to bake this. I have been trying to find a good recipe!
Mouth watering!!!
I would avoid putting that much raw flour on the top of the dough then folding it into the dough. That flour is not gonna be hydrated like the rest of the dough. Use as little flour or none at all before folding in the dough. The crumb is so dense in places, I think it is mostly due to that.
onion bread - could you use fresh sautéed onions?
Absolutely 👍
HINT: I made this today. Im a useless baker! I added a second tsp of instant yeast, 2 tsp sugar to the very warm water, waited until it bloomed, then poured in slowly into my mixer, to form a doughball after a few minutes. a bit of flour on the counter to form it into a drier ball, then into a corningware bowl with wetted interior sides, plastic wrap on top then a doubled tea towel on top. placed on a cooling metal grid suspended 1 inch over a warming burner on the lowest setting for 30 minutes, then shut it off. rose very well (hard to get anything to rise where i live its high n cold here) in the 3 hrs. after 3 hrs, depuffed it, baked as recipe. turned out very well! im kinda shocked!
Looks delicious.
Hi can i use Balsamic vinegar instead of rice vinegar ?
With so much liquid i don't think adding more water in the recipe is necessary since you need to get rid of the liquid by evaporation. Thank you. God bless you
Can I water bath this and store ?
I’ve never personally done any kind of canning so I really can’t say.
I would totally enjoy more about your journeys and cooking. I too am a Christian.
This will really save me an out of the way trip to the H-Mart....I'm really obessed with this dressing and kind of put it on everything. ❤
That’s awesome. I’m glad you like it. Yeah my closet H-Marr is over an hour away.
No seasonings? 😮😢
Can anyone tell me if you can alter the rye/white flour ratio? Could I add more rye?
Sure. Play around with the ratios and come up with something that suits your tastes.
Where to get the coconut aminos? Is it optional?
Coconut aminos is a substitute for soy sauce. You can use soy sauce. I usually get coconut aminos at Trader Joe’s, Kroger (Fry’s), and costco.
@@justcookwithdustin5678 can I substitute the rice vinegar with sushi vinegar?
Absolutely. You may just want to add a little more sugar as sushi vinegar is sweet.
@@justcookwithdustin5678 alright! Thanks for the guidance. Appreciated it. Will try it soon
I already made this twice, now making it a third time. Everyone love it!!! I make double the amount and give out jars to friends and family 😍
That’s awesome. I’m so happy you love this recipe. 😊
@@justcookwithdustin5678 Thank you!!
This is EXACTLY the recipe I needed. Thank you for making this video. 👍😍
You are so welcome 🤗 thank you for watching.
How long do I let it cook before putting it in the jar?
It wail very depending how how much moisture is in the tomato’s. You want to be stirring constantly and when you can begin to see the bottom of the pot as you stir you will know it’s ready. Thank you for asking.
For me, the blue cheese was an essential part of the flavor. Thanks for inspiring me to recreate this!
Absolutely. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Would this work with sourdough yeast and adding olive oil?
Absolutely. Now that I have been baking for a few years I almost always add olive oil to my breads and pizza dough.
I live in the middle of nowhere and kewpie mayo doesnt exist and cant order online, can i use regular Heinz mayo ?
I would give it a try and see how you like it. It may take a little more mixing as the texture of American mayonnaise isn’t as smooth ask Kewpie Mayo.
@@justcookwithdustin5678 Thank you for your reply! I live in France so the mayo is a bit different than the USA, I found a small one that taste similar to Kewpie but without the Umami taste, I will try it and report back !
This is lovely! Thank you for sharing the recipe :)
I’m so happy you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching.
Gonna try it today
Awesome! Let me know how you like it.
Im making the recipe as we speak… how long is the cooking time in total approximately ?
Thanks for asking. 30-45 minutes. When you are stirring the pot you want to be able to see the bottom of the pot for a split second. The time will vary based on the moisture content of the tomatoes. Or let it cool for a bit and if you’re not happy with the consistency of it put it back on the heat and continue to let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes. Thank you for trying my recipe and let me know how it turns out for you.
@@justcookwithdustin5678 i just finish making it. IT IS DELICIOUS 😋 omg! Just amazing ! 💯.
Awe! That’s awesome. I’m so happy you like it. 😃
Can I use honey instead of sugar in the tomato jam
I found this on google. If a recipe calls for 4 cups sugar, use 2 cups honey. Cook the jam or jelly slightly longer than time stated in recipe using sugar. When substituting honey, use a commercial liquid or powdered pectin. It’s seems that you can make this substitution. Let me know how it turns out for you.
@@justcookwithdustin5678 thank you very much 🙂
If you put it in the fridge overnight, do you cover the dough
I do. I always keep it covered to keep it from drying out.
Think I’m gonna try this
I love to pan fry my artisan breads also... adds one more layer of flavor and texture...
Making it right now thanks!! Love that you also garden some of the produce
That’s great. Let me know what you think.
@@justcookwithdustin5678 It came out amazing! I put it on toasted bread with melted buche cheese and melted butter and a little salt, it was paradise 😍Thanks
I am making it today 😃 Thank you 😊
That’s great. I hope you love it.
how did it go
I luv this Thankyou delicious 😋
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Hope to hear soon from you! All the best in a New 2022 year!
Thank you. Things got a little crazy for 2021. Hoping to get back to it this summer.
The fact he left the one piece of spinach in the hash ruined the video for me
Great recipe! Thank you!
You’re welcome. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Happy New Year 🎉
I’m going to have to get a slicer now. Only way I will be able to get the cabbage that thin.
A good mandolin should do the trick. 😂
@@justcookwithdustin5678 I have a very good one. I’ll try that ! Thank you!
Can i use ordenary mayonaise ?
You can. I have found that the flavors are different. Regular mayonnaise also takes a little more mixing because it’s not as smooth.
Thanks for the idea, I'm going to go try it right now
I got a full belly now. Nice and easy breakfast and it really looked like I knew what I'm doing in the kitchen. Thanks again 😁☺🤤
That’s awesome. I’m glad you enjoyed it. And I appreciate the feedback.
It looks so good I guess!
How many days shelf life of the dressing when you made it?
I’ve only ever had it in the fridge a couple of weeks before it’s all gone and I need to make more. If I was going to make a large container of it I would go by the use by date on those ingredients.
Great video. I’ve been making this bread and variations for over 12 years. You may like the light crust, but most bakers and myself bake it darker. My loaves are a chestnut color.
Omg!
I am visiting and wanted to know more about local Asian markets to visit while I'm here. Thanks for this!
