Back then when it wasn’t invaded by economic migrants. Please bring me back to the real Canada 🇨🇦.
This is so stupid. I wish I was British… 😢
Cried like a baby...❤❤❤
Take me back......please!
Wonderful video! We saw Dan Fleenor's Hurricane Hell Drivers at the LaPorte County(Indiana) Fair in 76 I think it was. Great show!
What’s the name of the song that was sang to the King?
Hi Muddy York ..the picture you have of Thornton Blackburn is actually a picture of William Lambert…who was the leader of the Detroit Underground Railroad in the mid 19th century. Unfortunately so far there have been no photos found of Thornton or his wife Lucie.
Thanks. I wondered about that. So far as I know, there are no images of Thornton Blackburn. I found that on another video about Thornton Blackburn, and left a message asking for sources. I am usually more careful about perpetuating inaccurate information. Thanks for flagging it. I will change the picture in my presentation.
@@MuddyYorkWalkingTours…I thought it odd too…sometimes there’s inaccurate/incomplete info out there especially regarding historical figures…we rely on different sources to substantiate info published…none of us lived during the historical subjects lifetime…so we can only rely on the sources given…but sometimes as we see they’re information is inaccurate as well
Hi ty for sharing this incredible story of my great Grandfather we are very proud and humbled by his Legacy. If im not mistaken you mentioned a warning tour id be interested to go on pls advise on where i can get in touch thx in advance 🎉😊
Thank you for watching and for sharing your comments. You can find my website at www.muddyyorktours.com or just email me at [email protected] Thanks!
Thank you for all your efforts in producing this documentary. Fantastic information especially all the side stories which contributed to Albert becoming Canadas 1st black postal carrier.💯🎯
Thanks for watching and commenting. Putting together the side stories really helped me to understand the context of what Albert Jackson would have experienced here.
Amazing enjoyed this video immensely and pray that finally we can educate are young ppl on the true struggles of slavery and how brave my great, great grandmother Anna Marie was to escape with young children. We are very proud of are great grandfather Albert Jackson. Ty so very much.
Thank you so much for watching, and for your comment. I had heard of Albert Jackson's story before, but didn't know too much about Anna Marie Jackson before. What an amazing story about an incredible woman! I'm grateful to have the opportunity to share this story with quite the varied audience, and share the history of the city from a perspective that they might never have considered too much, before. Your great-great-grandmother went through some really traumatic experiences, but she's handed down a brave and resilient legacy for future generations. Thank you so much again for commenting!
Thank you very much for your video on the life and times of my great grandfather Albert. All of us who are his descendants are very proud of his legacy. Your well documented video about what he and his family endured and accomplished despite hardship is much appreciated and we sincerely thank you!
Thanks so much for watching, and for your kind comment. It is very fulfilling to know that one of Albert Jackson's descendants has watched the video, and I am particularly grateful that you approved. I have shared it online, here, but have also recently presented it to dozens of people in various communities across Toronto. I'm glad that I could make Albert Jackson's story - and his family's story - a little bit better known.
Definitely interested in any future videos of historical figures in the area you have focused on. Wishing you much success on all of your future videos. P. S. That’s my dad Lawrence Jackson holding the Albert Jackson sign ..he was a grandson of Alberts and included in the picture is also Alberts granddaughters Priscilla Jackson Walton and June Jackson Brown
@@rockytoronto wow! Thanks for sharing that information. I hope you don't mind that I used the image. I actually currently have about 30 biographies of various Torontonians that I've put together over the past few years. I mostly deliver them in a few different retirement communities around the city. I'm really trying to build up my repertoire of diverse stories in order to add to the way that history was told back a few decades ago. There are a few other biographies on here, but I'm looking into getting another platform to carry them on. Stay tuned! I will post more information as it becomes available. Thanks again for commenting.
Wonderful..looking forward to that. Oh and no problem using the photo..there’s many online…on different websites and platforms.
Brilliantly told, honest and enlightening about an author I did not have much knowledge of. The books, yes, just not LMMs' lifestory. thanks for the telling.Wonderful phots and art.
Thanks so much for watching, and for leaving a comment. My KZread account is somewhat indiscriminate, but you should find a couple of other biographies on here.
Now, this scene is sad in another way: Charles is the only person in this room still alive. Everyone else… they’re all gone. Passed on into history and memory. So in a way, Charles is now the opposite of Bertie. The living man looking out on the faces of the dead.
whats the name of the song?
The last British monarch to bear the title of Emperor.
Thank you, Richard. Very informative.
Very informative. Thank you for sharing Sarah's story with the wider audience that's available through KZread!
That was fabulous. Thanks so much. Eatons was a big part of my family's history. My grandfather worked in the fabric dept. inspecting cloth as well as being tenor soloist and Choir Master at Timothy Eaton United Church.
Thanks for watching, and sharing your own family history.
I love this scene. Seeing the moment when he realizes that this will be his last Christmas with his family and his people. His people loved him and he loved them. The respect they had for each other is unmatched. I love this show! Jared Harris is awesome!

Thanks so much for watching it!
"In the Bleak Midwinter" BY CHRISTINA ROSSETTI In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow, In the bleak midwinter, long ago. Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain; Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign. In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ. Enough for Him, whom cherubim, worship night and day, Breastful of milk, and a mangerful of hay; Enough for Him, whom angels fall before, The ox and ass and camel which adore. Angels and archangels may have gathered there, Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air; But His mother only, in her maiden bliss, Worshipped the beloved with a kiss. What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb; If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part; Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.
Rewatching Episode 1 after the end of the series
Super video!!!!!
one of the top three moments in the entire series
Why didn’t anyone else clap when the Queen consort clapped?
This scene is one of the most moving of the whole series. It's genuine, heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time.
What song is this? Pray tell me. Anyone?
Wow! Thanks for posting this. Saw this as a kid at the CNE. Still amazed how they can balance a car on 2 wheels while driving. This old time show as seen in this video would never pass the safety standards of today 😂
I was on the verge of crying he was a great king and he knew his time was coming to a close so sad!!
The Christmas celebration brought to you by the Peaky Blinders…
Song name please? ))))):
It's a traditional English Christmas Carol called "In the Bleak Midwinter".
I saw these guys might not have been this year whatever year it was the banana splits were on the bill. One of my earliest memories.
I just can't help feel so sorry for queen mary of teck. You give your life in servitude to the crown and god rewards you by taking what was supposed to be your first husband and then you loose your love of your life and literally 3 sons. With a 4th in exile because of his own stupidity. You want to talk about true blood sweat and tears of the crown just look at the life if queen mary i have to give her credit she carried through it. All of it.
I’m not even British I’m American and this killed me cause not only was it the kings last Christmas he celebrated with his family but it was also his last Christmas with his mother too and she outlived him man every parents worse pain😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
How poignant this scene is. The family is together again. God Bless the King. God bless the Queen.
56 years later I still recall MOST of the words to this song
What an amazing scene, it just has so many layers. There is a very subtle but penetrating tragedy to it, the king is trying his absolute hardest to enjoy his last Christmas, to make it a happy one, but he just couldn't contain the overwhelming sadness, and it's not because there is anything wrong but because it is all so absolutely perfect, this moment was not plagued with drama or tensions or anything that would make one happy not to be part of the royal family, it is an absolutely beautiful moment that would make anyone glad to be there, but that also means that knowing that he won't be there for them anymore suddenly is so much more painful, knowing that they still need him, knowing that his daughters specially still need him before the responsibilities fall on them, his family created the most perfect moment and he now truly sees just how much he is about to lose and how much it will affect them, his happiness ended up breaking his heart, it was impossible for him to not tear up, and make things uncomfortable for everyone, worrying them when he didn't want to. The tragedy and what makes this so heartbreaking is that there was never a chance for him to have a truly happy last Christmas knowing what he knows.
What gets me is the thought that he was looking at his family as he knew it would be shortly - without him. He looked to a young Princess Elizabeth knowing the burden she was shortly going to have to carry and he wasn’t able to carry it for her. The father - daughter aspect just breaks me when I consider it.
Gets me every time. Not a fan of most of this show but this scene was just perfectly done
King George was a brave humble accidental king who led his peoples through the war, that ultimately took his life as well.
What is the name of the Christmas Carol?
He make me cry
A moving scene.
Very interesting. I had no idea about any of this. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!
This gets me every time… 🥹❤️🎄🌟
