What is the slowest speed your lures run at? I am looking to use these types of lures for musky. In Lake St. clair.

So, just for reference, what is the shortest and longest lines on your boat, from the short flat line to the long rigger? We normally get bites on our boat from 125 yards, but have gotten them from 75 yards to 150 yards so I was just wondering if we have them too long...btw, we have yet to install outriggers so all the lines run either from the rod tip or pinned to the cleats with rubber bands. Mahalo for any info.

your tutorials are fabulous, you have been most helpful with helping me choose my colour combinations. one question, what causes the lateral crease down the wings on your bullet lures? It really helps make the wings pop!

Brah, great vid to equalize on 9". How about a video on complexities of 12 and 14" lures? Thats where folks get all hammajang. There's a 100 ways skin a cat yeah. I like do nail knot or noose to tie skirts on and i find they grip better at higher speeds and don't make humps in skirts. Try make vid on bigger heads. We'd appreciate it!

Brah, like da Fumachu look!! Hahaha. I've experienced that sometimes ahi seems to be hook shy, so hidden hooks maybe better. Front hook gets mahi since they go head first. Ono, marlin and sometimes ahi go for whole bait or from rear. Great vid!

Garrett, I love y'all's lures! The artistry that goes into each one is proven in a hard- fished Oahu environment. I'm looking to break into the marlin scene in west Florida and you can bet your ass I'm introduce Tsutomu to the crowd. Looking forward to all the bloody decks brah!

When do you rig a lure on a double hook, vs two J hook rig like the one in this video? Do you run any lures this size on the bigger double hooks, or just the two J hook rigs? Thanks for the info.

  • @tsutomulures

7” lures I’ve used the Tosa double hook before but I mostly use it on 6” or smaller. Double J’s on 7” and bigger

@@tsutomulures thanks for the reply. What are the reasons you like the double js in the 7in and bigger lures over double hooks?

Thanks for all the advice Garret, guys like me really appreciate it. Plus too, the lures you sent me couple weeks ago catch. 9" Milky got us two fat Otaru, the 9" Amaebi hooked a small marlin last week. Had a few 10lb kine kawakawa, but that was a ice blue/black ice from Avin folks. Im gonna order a few more this month, dipped in extra lucky luck!

Great video. I love lure making. Maybe I was mistaken but it appeared you were sanding the lure head down to be clear. I thought everyone now uses those vacuum resin chambers that make the lures come out perfectly clear with no sanding etc.
