Cowboy Cooking with BMac & Garry
Cowboy Cooking with BMac & Garry
Join us in our adventure as we show you how easy it is to cook over an open fire using Dutch Ovens, the cookware of the American West. You will witness our simple-to-use recipes from beginning to end , and along the way, see all of our successes and mistakes. We're not perfect, but if we can get at least one person to try to cook in a dutch oven, then it was all worth it.
No telling what else we may film along the way.
What do you have to lose?

Where are your recipes? Oooh, audio is terrible!!!
Yes. We had the burner on to heat the crawfish. It was loud. I tried to reduce the background noise as much as possible
Wheres wally
Those look like they would be great with strawberries, instead of shortcake.
Not a bad idea!
Great Dad
The best!
Sturdy table
Yep. Needs to be with all of those ditches.

I love this!
Give it a shot! Try it with other ice cream flavors.
Hi, Hope you are well. I visited your KZread channel” *Cowboy Cooking with BMac & Garry* ” and your video making is very good. Your content ideas are very good. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much. Hopefully we will continue to improve.
I can help to increase your video view. If you want.
Love to see people who know the difference in a dutch oven and a pot thank you very much sir
You’re welcome. I get it right every now and then.
A ok
I just bought at a antique shop a 13 inch Dutch oven. It has a flat bottom and a deep lid for coals. It weighs about 47lbs. It looks old. We’re the old ones that heavy?
None of ours are close to that weight. 47 lbs? Wow!
When did cowboys start wearing short-sleeve shirts?
When it gets hot outside. 😊
I'm 66 and searched for years for Lodge 18" or 20" camp oven. Susposed to have been made up until the 1920s on their old sales catalog. I bought a Cabelas 20" camp oven with lid several years ago, has its logo on lid. I've cooked several times for large Scout feeds. Once cooked 14 chickens at one time. Like your dad, i have to get one of my sons to tote it now, weighs 63 lbs empty.
63 pounds! Wow! I didn’t know Cabelas offered one that big.
@@bmac1964 they dropped it from their line about 15 years ago
👍
How many coats for 12” d o
For 350 degrees, try 17 on top and 8 on bottom. Good luck!
That would be a huntin' camp treat. Especially after a day of huntin', fishin' and embibin'.
And so easy to make. I hope you try it.
Very nice. We make them as a holiday treat and add sprinkles for the kids.
Yum! Appreciate the comment. Don’t forget to subscribe.
If you want to get rid of any of the Lodge 16s.... hit me up!
lol
How do you get that pie out of the Dutch oven? If you wait until it cools, will it over cook? I was impressed you could get it in the oven without getting burned! I'm afraid I'd not be so lucky! I love pecan pie!
Truth be told, I don’t remember. I think I just used a towel.
Wow nice video to follow❤❤❤❤
That’s what we strive for. Easy recipes that anyone can do. I hope you try it for yourself
Does it go good with Cigars? Asking for a friend...😂
Only with Macanodos
Absolutely agree! Since they don’t last that long, the disposal of said panels just causes more land destruction. 😳. Oh and the fuel they are saving! What? Not!! It takes fuel to build which could be used to supply what they are trying to remedy! It doesn’t make sense. The stupidity of it all - geez wake up people! 🤦🏼♀️
Couldn't have said it better. I hope you and yours are doing okay. And, I hope you are enjoying our videos.
Great simple recipes thanks for sharing. Great looking taters!
Thank you. Now go try it yourself. 😊
❤
Go make some Robbie

Because they didn't use common gumption
Yep
Wow that is an odd size. Pretty neat Hahaha we are the we don't make cobbler we make cake People so we have made lots of these dump cakes. Nice job y'all.
Thanks. Keep watching!
Man I really want one of the 16 inch D.O.s
I think Lode still makes them. Or, you can get a custom one at MACA Dutch ovens. You should be able to search for it online But, there’s nothing better than finding one in the back of an old Antique shop collecting dust.
Not a bad spot to have a cook at all. Love it !
I couldn’t agree more.
Very cool! Thanks y'all!

@@bmac1964 Not a problem
Yummy! About what size can of pie filling did you use? Apples are ready up here, so maybe an apple cake. Thanks!
Apple cake sounds delicious! It was a 16 oz can. Try it with pineapple. You can use all sorts of fruits.
In the future biden and oprah will use those to boil american families.. 😂😂😂 sick country
I will try that camp next time.
Can't hurt
Reach over there and grab some of that lard and rub it on top theme ovens.
Those are Garry’s. He never cared what the outside looks like so long as the inside is clean.
Looks good. I never thought to cut tortillas in strips to fry. We make pazole rojo for Thanksgiving and the strips would be perfect.
Glad I could help.
Great collection. Liked the railroad pot/ kettle.
Thanks. We can’t get him to stop collecting.
Inspired, I am cooking a mess of beans in a dutch oven over coals this evening while Im watching you guys. One tip for multiple ovens, we put matching brass tags on lid and oven so they dont get mixed up.
Glad you’re enjoying. We use the tag method when we have to cook with others. Lids can get mixed up real fast.
Never seen the spider type, those are pretty cool.
We have had spiders for years and love to collect them. Check out our video titled Uncle Jimmy’s Dutches to see more I’m on a few Dutch oven Facebook pages and I never see a spider.
@@bmac1964 wonder of they are regional?
No definitely not regional. I just think most people use newer ovens. The spiders are generally older. Like I mentioned, my largest one was used on the old Santa Fe trail. @@olivei2484
@@bmac1964 Well, they are really neat old ovens.
Thanks. Now, go find one for yourself.
Nice set of handy tools. I use a fire place type shovel and pliers. And an old larger (3 lb?) coffee can to set lid on, but that is tippy, so not the best.
Thanks. I say use whatever works. I bet Cooky used a van lid on the trail

@@bmac1964 i also use an old disc plow share to cook on, helps with the fire risk we have out here. Share, dirt, coals. Holds a 12" oven easily.
A disc plow is a great idea. We also use them for cooking in not cooking on sometimes A metal barrel lid works well too Maybe I should do a video on this?
@@bmac1964 A video would be a good idea, gets viewers thinking.
Thank y’all ♥️
No, thank you
Awesome, take care
Thank you
beautiful made pico de Gallo guys.
Thank you. I hope you try it.
I'm gonna have to get my DO's out and do some cookin. On that first dish, I would have got the taters about done and then added the cheese. It'll be fantastic either way!!
Good catch. I usually add the cheese at the end too. Garry likes to add before cooking.

Sounds great @@bmac1964
Man, nothing like a good pot of stew.. my grandma use to put okra, carrots, onion, corn, peas, beef, tomatoes, celery & potatoes. . with a little corn starch and brown gravy mix to thicken it up.. miss those days.
Sounds delicious!
This is great! Beautiful brick oven in the back. Imagine pizza would cook great in that too. Man I love Dutch ovens. I subscribed.
Thank you so much. Dad always wanted a nice fireplace. We tried to cook a pizza once, but it takes a long time to get a fireplace that size to heat up to temp. However, keep watching. I will be making a pizza in a Dutch oven soon I hope. Thanks for subscribing.
Nice content! I follow from the Netherlands, Europe.
Hello Netherlands! Would love to come and see your beautiful country one day. In the meantime, send me photos of your cooking to my Facebook page. I would love to see how you do it.
Great to hear from our friends overseas. I hope our videos inspire you.
Love it. Great collection
