Exploring my curiosity and sharing what I learn along the way. Gave up a grand slam on ESPN in 2012 and still waiting for it to land.

    1) Never avoid hard conversation →Time does not heal anything when it comes to relationships. 2) Stress and anxiety are the result of a lack of plan to bridge your present reality with your future expectations for your life 3) Adaptability may be the single most important trat in life → chaos is part of life → put yourself in stressful situations on a daily basis 4) Don’t complain about anything, → if you can do something about it, do it. If not, you are just wasting time 5) Ambition without direction is a curse → ambition on his own can be really devastating → direction is far more important than speed → EXPERIMENTATION is key - explore a lot 6) Show up and do the work -> you can get pretty far by just doing this. → people overestimate the importance of excellence and underestimate the importance of reliability 7) Cherish the truth tellers in your life → find people who feel comfortable telling you the truth 8) Always default to kindness → kindness is underrated, it costs you nothing but it goes a long way. 9) Spend time with people who make your eyes light up → in life, every single person is either pushing you forward or holding you back. Nothing in between → your energy is finite, use it wisely 10) Embrace the friction of the hard to live an easy live. → every single thing that you want in life is on the other side of something that sucks. → Everything that is good in life is obtained by doing something hard for an extended period of time 11) The regret from inaction is far worse than the regret from action 12) Don’t follow your passion, follow your energy → “what feels effortless when you do it?” → what are the things that fuel me in my job? (for example) 13) Talent and skill are great, but they are nothing without self-awareness → self-awareness is crucial (know your strengths and your weaknesses) → generalize first, specialize later. 14) Delayed gratification is the key to the life of you dreams → look out for people who have the willingness to do the hard work now and enjoy the easy later 15) Accountability is a rare and powerful trait in the modern world. → life is not fair → fundamental attribution error → be harsher with yourself and easier with others (not always) 16) You are capable of achieving anything that you want in life, but only if you are willing to put in the work → you cannot work smart if you haven’t worked hard → don’t talk about it, do it. 17) Be a darkest hour friend → a real friend is there when you do not have nothing to offer 18) Closed mouths don’t get fed → be willing to ask for the thing that you feel you deserve for it (you’ve worked hard for it) 19) No one has all figured it out →no one knows what they want to be when they grow up 20) Life is much more fragile than you think → your time with the people that you love is extremely finite. → if you think something nice about someone, tell them, now. My notes, thanks again for this gem Sahil! (as always, you surprise me, I feel like you are my second dad)

@@Sahil_Bloom Generally I do, for this video though I already knew the lessons from your newsletter so I skipped a few parts. I love watching your channel for inspiration, so I think I would prefer a different setting. For example the video where you worked out with your new-ish gym buddy. It is also what I really liked about the cold wisdom series. I think if there's some new content and it's an inspirational setting, I am willing to invest 40 minutes any day! Love that you keep experimenting!

Hi Sahil....haven't watched you in ages....(was busy, sorry) but I randomly decided to browse my subscriptions recently and saw that you posted a video about your new book?!!?!? So, I immediately knew I had to get this, seeing as I've been watching you ever since your first ever video on YT. I pre- ordered it (date Sun Jul 21 exactly). And I can't wait to read it!!! 😀 Right now, do you know what I'm doing? Basically, the last video I watched of yours was Cold Wisdom episode 50. So seeing as I had watched every single one of your videos before that.....today I allocated a full Sahil Bloom catch-up! So yes, I'm going to make sure I've watched every single one of your videos by the end of today! 😇 So, here goes my cold plunge! Anyway, cheers! From your proud fan from England. 🤗

But that’s a good thing? You WANT be realistic with your expectations. Big ambitions are called dreams and there’s nothing wrong with that, but there’s a point to where you’re delusional, and thats NOT ok. So it’s fine to have big dreams, but be realistic

Excellent advice Salil. But number 15. Time! This is key! Base everything around how you spend your time (note the word spend, not use). Don’t waste it, spend it wisely. Consider everything you do that it may possibly be the last time you do that thing.. we don’t know our end date.. Brings us back to being grateful for the small important things.. Then with the above mindfulness comes and then focus.
