This channel focuses on adventure...from whitewater paddling to Skoolie conversions.
In fact, I had to rewrite this description! I began channel to share my passion for rivers; but, as life goes, I found myself converting a school bus (to drive around to different rivers) and many of my videos are now geared toward that!
I hope that the joining of two separate passions doesn't confuse people (or the KZread algorithm too much!
I love rivers. I spend my summers guiding rafts on the West Branch of the Penobscot River, living in a riverside tent, paddling with some of the kindest and coolest people I know, and feeling like I am truly home.
When I'm not on the 'Nob, I love checking out other rivers and learning from other boaters. My lovely bride and I have been fortunate to have paddled in many parts of the US, Chile, Costa Rica and Ecuador..and still exploring!
Thanks for stopping by! Please consider subscribing and I hope to see you on the river!

Best guide Ted, just spent last weekend tackling Penobscot with his expertise and making the challenge especially fun. Extremely competent, sharing knowledge in and out of the river experience. Looking forward to the next high flying raft ride
Thanks, John! It's a special place and I was happy to share it!
What part number is the bag
Nice work. I had to replace a section around the wheels on mine. Thankfully I was able to reuse the ribs. I used a plasma cutter to remove the spot welds.
Ohh...I could have used a plasma cutter! Some of the bolts chewed up multiple blades!
& just to clarify run all negatives on the fuse side to the same ground as the breaker side? So both will be wired to the chassis ground?
Joanne...I'm not exactly sure what you mean. The way I understand it, everything is eventually grounded to the frame of the bus. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by fuse side or breaker side.
Are those the circuit breakers with the prongs on the back or without? Need to know so I get the right breakers to redo mine
I am not a fan of the end result, looks like something i could do myself but wouldn't want anyone to see. But you liking how it turned out is all that matters. 😅
The only time you hear about Vikings is during a rafting trip. And the regular season... ...That was an NFL joke
👍👍😊😊
Why not just the 1 sloped dry pack?
I'm not sure I understand. What do you mean by 1 sloped? (I probably didn't do it because I didn't know anything about it)
Your first mortar dry pack was to get the slope for drainage, then you added the liner and another dry pack. I searched online to find why 2 dry packs are used, but no success. Where did you read to do 2 dry packs instead of just putting down the liner and 1 dry pack with the slope? I just put in my drain and I'm trying to decide which method to use.@@River-Channel
Ugh… I’ve got my work cut out.
That might have been my least favorite part...
Hahaha we are burning up cutting wheels! Great videos (love the rafting vids too) So happy to have met y’all and look forward to learning more. -your Katahdin neighbor, lisa
That's why I started the cuts with grinding wheels! Great to connect; reach out anytime!
It's not the eagle who he answered? : "Hey, " I said "You can keep my things, they've come to take me home" and the question is who are "they"? but there the song ends.
Good question. Is it the "crowd" he should be running with rather than the crowd that pulls him away from his true calling?
Is your fan running ? The 120v is for the fan as well as the display and the sparker
Yes...fan runs.
Been having the worst luck, im 98% finished and cant find anyone to insure my curaeay shittle bus conversion. Will be calling Kelly tomorrow with hipefully good results. Thank you very much for this hard to find information. Subscribed.
You're welcome! Best of luck...
Do they have any bathrooms besides porta potties? Looks nice.
I thought I remembered seeing a bath house on the description, but I don't remember seeing it when we were there.
What is Kelly's full name and what is her phone

Hiii...I'm in stage..remove the seats my question is Should I keep the heaters back there? Pros cons?
If you see yourself traveling in cold climates you may want to leave it in so you don't have to run an alternative heat source. We stay mostly in warm climates in winter so took it out.
Nice welder. I am a beginner. I clicked on the video because I saw the FORNEY. I am using one at work, it's a different model, but looks identical to yours. The machine is solid and easy to use. I am considering buying the machine you have for my own personal use. Good review, thanks a bunch.👍👍
Thanks! I still use it on a lot of projects! Really happy with it.
Merry Christmas!🎄🎁
You, too, Phil!
Can I put a wf8955 in my wf8935
I couldn't make an informed recommendation on that, sorry! I don't know about the 8935.
Hey, that's me! I didnt realize how much of this you were filming! I must have assumed you were snapping photos,; love it! Looking forward to hanging out with you guys more and finishing her up!
The spray can dance and the flying leap were my favorite parts! Thanks so much!
Wow, Ted! Sure looks awesome. I cannot believe that she did all of that with spray cans!!!!
Thanks! Spray cans weren't the original plan, but when we went to the auto store and ordered paint that had a clear coat in it, this is what they gave us!
Cant wait to meet my bus familey🙂
See ya on the road!
Looks awesome!
Thanks!
Welcome back!😁
Thanks! Tougher to find content with less projects!
@@River-Channel But interesting...always! Till next time.😊👍
Thanks! Working on a "This is what we like and would change after a year of full time bus living" @@philmickey7247
I know I’m late but I’d like to see you explain band on the run
Is that wheel well thin metal? Was it replaced before. My international has heavy steel wheel wells. I wonder if it varies with manufacturers of the bus?
Thin's a relative term, Billy! Not sure...I'm guessing around 16 gauge. You can buy the wheels wells, but they weren't as cheap as I had hoped...
excellent
Did you ever have any moisture problems with mold or anything? This is a lot like I'm currently building mine and I've had some concerns.
Not really. It was a pretty rainy summer and no mold. Early last spring we used the heat a lot and had condensation on the windows. But no problems. If I had to do it all over I’d spray foam the whole bus.
How has the ceiling held up? We're thinking about buying the same one for our skoolie
Great...no problems at all!
@@River-Channel thank you
Dang...I deliberately looked this up cause I'm about to cover it in an English class and was looking for someone else's thoughts on the meaning within that seemingly bizarre falsetto bridge. I'm not sure why it says "she's flying", not "he..."
But to be fair, I dig what else you have to say about the song..
Lol on the sound efects lol lol
I just got a skoolie I live in Washington DC and im.looking to get insurance to register my GMC short bus, do you have kelly's info, thank you for all your help.
It's in the description below the video. Best of luck!
Thank you very much ;)@@River-Channel
Just emailed Kelly! Thanks a lot 😊
BY FAR THE BEST DOOR INSTALL VIDEO!!! THANK YOU
Thanks so much!
Impressive built out. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Still living in it full time and loving it.
@@River-Channel So cool! I'm glad you're enjoying it. We have a Ford shuttle bus that we can stand inside. I decided to convert it to take our kids on road trips when they're off from school. They're still young and love their school so we didn't want to disrupt that.
I'm not a beginner I own my on welding service an I use this machine out in the field all the time great machine I plug it up to my Hobart welder/generator for smaller jobs and I'll tell u something else to I see u have the forney wire witch is a good wire don't get me wrong but if u use the blue demon E71T11 wire in it u will get much better welds and hardly no spatter
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll pick some up for the next project!
thank you very good video
Thanks!
where did the black wire with the pigtail hook up to that came in the power center
Don't see Kelly's #

Hi Just purchased a school bus and cutting out I realised it’s way more rusty than expected and might have to do the same, how much did it cost in metal / material ?
I don't remember exactly...but I think the sheet steel was around $400 and the tube steel was around $300;
Great review. As a matter of fact this is the one I bought, thanks to your review. Totally happy with it as I too am a beginner pretty much. I like your honesty and the fact you're not reviewing it like some pros whose skills have gone to their head. I mean really, comparing a $399 welder to a $4,000 welder, then say it's junk because it cant do the same job. lol
I know, right? "This Honda Civic is a pile of garbage because it's not as fast as a Porsche." I'm still really happy with it...just welded a crack in my exhaust with it last week. Super handy to have around!
Thanks, how much is that insurance costing you, if you don't mind me asking?
We bundled it with home insurance so it's about $30 a month.
Im always surprised your videos dont have more views. Watching you work there are so many small details and tips to pick up - the kind of things you usually only pick up from making tons of mistakes on your own 😄
Thanks, Tyler! I certainly made a lot of mistakes along the way. Learning how to fix them made me a better builder!
Just watched your video. Mine is in lithium mode but it’s only putting out 13.5 volts. However it is pushing about 55 amps thought. Thoughts?
I am not an electrician. 55 amps seem like a lot, though. Do you have a BMS on your battery?
Anyone have insurance in nj?
Good info Thanks for the video man!
No problem! I’m liking it more and more the better I get with it!
I need insurance for my school bus what to do
Call Kelly.
How has it held up?
Great! Not peeling at all despite my climbing up there to pull kayaks on and off the roof. It does get dirty, but so does the rest of the bus.
