    i too started with tesseract and snakes. its a winning formula. You might want to start trying 180s. Makes your brain and body do something different, makes going back to checks easy. Good shit bro!!

    push out with your front foot to bring the board back round. Get used to feeling four wheels sliding. It’s harder to do on quite a mellow hill.

    Nice progression and glad you’re happy - self motivated to continue, which is most important. As you get onto hills, you’re going to need to adjust your timing (reaction time) to the steepness. I struggle with really steep hills, but am decent with moderate ones. Currently can do 25 mph Coleman and 35 mph push up slide, but no stand ups or foot stops at that speed. I’ve yet to bring the Coleman around to continue downhill, but have come close at 25 mph, but not consistent. Keep practicing and it’ll all come together when it’s time. 🤘

    You are really coming along nicely! I continue to be impressed. I think a good next step would be more speed. Making sure you can throw out a pendy/shut down slide is as important as taking a corner well especially on an open road. Which would be my next tip. Doing predrifts into a corner will feel a lot better. In time you should also aim to have your back foot more in line with the board when doing toesides, the goal is being able to pretty much transition from tuck to slide without moving your feet. For heelsides you still have to fold the back foot down ofc 👍

    Good to see uk has such a nice surface road I been to MU and RG, no such condition when you do your crouching during toe side, try lean a bit forward knee to near/under your nipple look where you going, your rear toe better can touch the rail as well. try gear up first, the faster you play you must need gear up, but when you gear up, you less flexible. you better get familiar with full gear during initial stage

    I found that a hill that is steep enough to require harder carving to control your speed really helped me ease into learning stand ups. That and really focusing on shoulder rotation when entering the slide.

    Grabbing rail when doing predrifts has its pros and cons. Your weight gets closer to the board which means more breaking power but slightly harder to break traction in the first place. I think the toesides look pretty good, keep that hand in front of your heel like you mention. When doing heelsides grabbing rail might actually help you regain traction by pulling on your board with your hand. In either direction though you wanna be careful not to lift your wheels as you might wash out on your bum with your board in your hand. Keep it up! 💪

    it's cool to see you making progress. Honestly, i'd say practice your tuck correctly or dont do it at all at this speed/hill. Your need to get your chest down to your thigh, your chin down to your knee. You dont want to build bad muscle memories/habits. One thing i dont hear you talking about with your glove down (and maybe its because you know this and dont feel the need to mention it, as youve already "got it") but please think about your rotation leading from your shoulders in to your hips. Itll help you rotate both in to and out of the slides.

    Hey! how good is the comet at handling speed? It looks really narrow and seems like it would be quite unstable. How would you rate the boards stability?

  • @JimmyCruise
    @JimmyCruiseАй бұрын

    I have purchased a new board - a Loaded Tesseract deck. You're right, the Comet is quite unstable at speed and since I'm trying to learn downhill I thought I'd get a different one. The Comet is really great at cruising and turning, which is where I find the most enjoyment. But you're right, when going downhill at speed it may not be the best

  • @Kufunninapuh
    @KufunninapuhАй бұрын

    I think you are making great progress! Glad to see you wearing a helmet 👍I have a couple of things I noticed. It's a bit of personal preference maybe but it might be worth trying out. I really dislike the feeling of standing on top of or behind my back truck, for downhill especially but I don't love it for freeride/stand ups either. Try shifting your stance forward so that the pinky of your front foot is on top if or close to your front bolts and then sort of see where your back foot ends up standing roughly shoulder width. Mess around with your stance I guess is what I'm saying, try a few things :) The second thing which is less personal preference is try to plant your back heel on the board when turning heelside, it will help your form a lot. Someone mentioned it already but that will help with folding your back knee towards your front foot which in turn will help with shifting your balance forward for easier slides, it was already looking really promising when you were carving gloves down. Try finding a wider hill to have some more space or try finding a corner to try predrifts. It is really quite difficult to do a glove down speed check on a straight hill in my opinion. Check out a tutorial on both heelside and toeside pendys or pendulum slides. That requires some more speed but is way easier on straight. Also dont be afraid to shift your wheels. I think you might have an easier time learning on the wheels from your comet assuming they are powell peralta snakes. You can also flip those around as they start to wear down to make them feel pretty much the same all the way to the core. And I think the stims are gonna fit great on the the comet. Over and out!
