There should have been a Mass Protest by College Students against the Vaccine Mandates. There were some Protests by the General Population against the COVID Mandates and People being injured or losing their jobs for refusing to take the COVID Jab.

Great video, Rabbi. You have analyzed our situation perfectly. We need to rise up and be heard from Temple to Temple and hold our leaders accountable. You ask why there are no protests against Ukraine, Sudan, etc. It's antisemitism.. We need to recognize it has surfaced. This is our chance to shine a flashlight on it. What upsets me is the fact that my grandson has to avoid places on his campus because of protests.
It is appalling to see. We are all shocked, but I agree it is all well planned and it’s not happening spontaneously. The same tents, scarves, chants, posters, etc… Someone is orchestrating this across the country.. and I wonder if some of the officials are being told to stand down. I will certainly vote for those officials who are not only standing against antisemitism but also acting on it.

The Hamas riots are carefully organized, with manuals, structured roles, and budgets of millions or more. It's planned in stages... It's not really about 'demonstrations,' and protesting isn't really relevant in this case.

I have been a social media user for half of my life and a power user for long-periods of that. I realized this week how freer my mind feels since I removed the social media apps from my phone. So much of our lives are consumed with this stream of recently posted nonsense. (My nonsense included, of course.) Social media and its platforms have changed a lot in the past few years, and I've been reflecting on that lately. Their constant demand for our attention and energy. The truth is that it doesn't surface great material from people we like. It prioritizes our anger and frustration. It encourages us to think in hot takes. It makes us think that what we type in these boxes is more important than what we do in our actual lives. Our willing self-enculturation to this makes it difficult to reflect on what matters and slowly absorb the information we actually want. The writing and content that makes us better people. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of good here too. Social media has brought new relationships, ideas, and voices I do want into my life. It has been a part of so many people's livelihoods, including mine, and created opportunities for which many of us are grateful. Those are good things. But something deep down makes me feel like those good things are rarer than the harmful things, and more than we'd like to admit. We have ceded so much control and power to just a few corporations to manage our access to each other. To profit off of us and addict us to the constant swiping and scrolling. The last few years have made it clear to me that we need a revolution in our relationship with information, with each other online, and with the voices that enter our minds. I've tried to think about what that looks like for me. What kinds of inputs make me better? What voices inspire me? What formats are important to me? When and how do I want to engage with those inputs? How do I find new trusted voices? I don't really have an answer. I just can't stop thinking about it. I feel more exhausted by the hamster wheel of social media than I ever have and I have a feeling I'm not alone.
Rumi is telling us that the entire human experience is valuable and that we should treasure every moment that is given to us. Not always easy but it pays off.

I agree! Thank you Rabbi Li-Paz. My mind is my greatest asset. I choose life, happiness & to be grateful, loving, and kind before I get out of bed. My attitude determines my altitude. I do what doctors told my mother I may never be able to do while I was in a hospital bed following a hit-and-run car accident. It has been 25 years since that day in September 1998. Today, at 65 years old, I thrive doing the best I can every day. I endeavor to stay blessed, not stressed. Thank you again.
