I'm cheating a bit here but the album Pet sounds by the Beach Boys, personally, is a great example of unconventional sounds or using instruments in unconventional ways to get the sound they needed! especially after seeing/hearing about Brian Willson's process. It really got me interested in how other people get the sounds they want!

    Lovely interview! I've been following his work for quite some time. So nice to hear he was in the same Record Label as Björk! That's major.
