Je n'ai, malheureusement, jamais vu Maria, sur scène, et, je donnerais très cher pour vivre cela ! Mon rêve fou, serait de rencontrer Callas, dans l'Au-delà 🙏🙏🙏 En attendant, ce jour, je savoure toutes ces merveilles, qui, très souvent, m'arrachent des larmes d'émotion... Жаль, что в комментариях как-то особо говорят о Корелли , а Бастианини ?. О нем надо не только говорить, но благодаря этому великому баритону и идет вся канва. Я уж не говорю о его редчайшим голосе , красоте которого невозможно оценить. И только Каллас и Бастианини , подчеркнули Корелли , как великого тенора. Поэтому участие этих троих, гениев не случайность, а закономерность, иначе и не может быть !!!! Нам остаётся только вздыхать и молиться за их души, чтобы им на небесах было хорошо !😊✝️🙏🙏💖💖💖💐

Maria Callas e' Anna Bolena, Maria Callas e' Norma, Lucia, Violetta, Amina, Leonora etc...la Sua ineguagliabile unicità, per me, che purtroppo sono nato troppo tardi per poterla inseguire nei teatri del mondo, sta nel fatto che, anche senza le immagini, ascoltandola, La vedo recitare, vivere, soffrire e, a distanza oramai di cinquanta anni, ancora regalare emozioni immense a noi tutti. Callas-эта метаморфоза, которую она, Каллас, зделала создала сама себя , благодаря своёму таланту , огромному трудолюбию , и пониманию , что господь бог наградил её уникальным голосом, благодаря которому и благодаря огромной музыкальной образованности- всё это в купе и доносила до публики на протяжении всей своей жизни. Вот почему больше ста лет (1923 г рожд.) , ещё при жизни, а потом после её смерти - она продолжает наши умы волновать , и слушая голос, мы приходим к препету , поднимая , что больше , мы , никогда такой уникум и такую ДИВУ не « получим» никогда!!!😇😃👏👏👏👏👏🌠✨💖💖🎼🎼
Bellini and Callas were a match made in heaven. Norma, I Puritani, La Sonnambula and Il Pirata. No one will never match Callas in these roles. My favorite opera composer paired with my favorite opera soprano.

Tosca... the first opera I saw live as a teenager (not with La Callas, but still impressive). Thank you for uploading this: The London Tosca with Callas and Gobbi - a great, great moment of glory in the history of opera. Maria - Divina, Assoluta, embodiment of Greek tragedy, baring her soul, giving us all. Hundred years ago you were born - you sacrificed a lot for your art. May you have found, after your so untimely death, the peace that was denied to you during your life. R.I.P. and thank you for everything you gave us.

Here is a comment from an Athens singing teacher, Maria Civelli, when Callas was only 14: The tone of the voice was warm, lyrical, intense; it swirled and flared like a flame and filled the air with melodious reverberations like a carillon. It was by any standards an amazing phenomenon, or rather it was a great talent that needed control, technical training and strict discipline in order to shine with all its brilliance. A model student. Fanatical, uncompromising, dedicated to her studies heart and soul. Her progress was phenomenal. She studied five or six hours a day. ...Within six months, she was singing the most difficult arias in the international opera repertoire with the utmost musicality.

Some may know that Callas made her debut in Puritani in 1949 with Serafin at La Fenice. Under amazing circumstances. She was in the middle of singing Die Walkure, and he told her she needed to learn Puritani from scratch in 6 days to fill in for someone else. Which she did. Not only learning this so fast, but in a totally different singing style.

The voice of Callas is a voice of the Olympic Goddess. It's above all, as if it comes from cosmos! Her voice could be filled with enormous wrath and next moment with subtle tenderness, sorrow or incredible suffering... All these because she didn't just sing, she"spoke" from her soul with her voice. Yes! As a great actress, she has this ability to transmit any nuances of the image state she plays. I am just finished listening to whole opera and I am in shock!I don't understand - where Callas got strength and stamina to continue to sing with such a phenomenal vocal ability and dramatic intensity through the whole opera. She was performing for 2 and half hour, challenging her voice but it never failed her! And towards the finale her magnifesent voice overpowered the chorus, the orchestra and her partners as usual. Isn't it a phenomena of the genius? Yes! Without douts!

And let's give credit to the conductor Antonino Votto who, in my opinion, understood the incredible drama of "Norma" far better than Tullio Serafin (pace, Maria). The conclusion to Act 1 proves this. Serafin never got a performance out of Maria like this. Wow!
