I'm off topic but i used to crawl the bars in downtown T.O. and had the pleasure of witnessing this late great musician. What a period in time to see great musicians like George Olliver...Bobby Dupont...Dutch Mason...Ronnie Hawkins...McKenna Mendolsohn Mainline...David Wilcox....and of course The Professor. Usually for the price of a beer lol.

Thank you for your beautiful post and your equally beautiful playing. Jimmy Yancey did for boogie what Bix Beiderbecke did for jazz and Buddy Holly did for rock: he showed that this mostly raucous style of playing could be quiet, beautiful, lyrical. Yancey's last album for Atlantic just months before his death is a masterpiece, and the vocals of his wife. Estelle "Mama" Yancey just add to the sad beauty of it all.

I used to regularly book Scotty and Mitch (as "The Rockin' Deltoids") when I ran Olly's 50s/60s club in the Ports of Call entertainment complex in 1979/80. Loved chatting with him after the gigs...

ESSENTIAL and LOVELY and BEAUTIFUL TUTORIAL. Very basic and very transparent. EASY TO FOLLOW. Thanks Mr. BLUESY 🎹 PROFESSOR. So motivating cause it's possible to achieve for a beginner like me. GREETINGS FROM SPAIN. Muchos bluesy saludos y abrazos.❤🎹❤
This is so clean presentation , I have seen lot of other B'W piano videos but , none was so clean in making understand the notes , 👍🏾
