Welcome to the official KZread channel of the King of Soul - Otis Redding. As one of the most influential and powerful singers of the 1960’s, his songs “Sittin on the Dock of the Bay,” “Try a Little Tenderness," “Hard to Handle,” and albums ‘Pain in My Heart,’ ‘Otis Blue’ and ‘Tell the Truth’ are beloved across generations and remain classics to this day.
Born in Georgia, Redding began his career at a young age in school choirs and bands and developed his raw and expressive voice. Redding signed with Volt Records in 1962 after they heard his rendition of “These Arms of Mine” during a recording session with Johnny Jenkins. Over the next few years, Redding released a string of hits, became a tireless live performer, and honed his songwriting abilities before his 1967 death in an unexpected plane crash. Redding became even more famous after his death with the release of his most popular track to date, “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” and his legacy as the King of Soul lives on.

Great Song & Version. I'm A Sax Player, so, I prefer this one (the original), even though I like the one by The Black Crows, too.
I have loved Otis Redding since I heard him as a child. Still love the Man and the music of the Big O Otis Redding! ❤️
1968 saß ich mit einem Jungen unter einem Baum und er spielte auf der Gitarre diesen Song, absolut berührend …Ich wusste damals nicht, dass der Sänger bereits tot war 😔

Brutha could rock anything, even a Christmas song
unbelievable that this and "sitting on the dock of the bay" were both published posthumously, after this legend left us at the ripe young age of 26..he was so far ahead of his time, and is so mature and inimitable in everything he sings!
Yep that's it. Go Otis 🎉🎉❤😂
love otis, kudos to insomniac to put it in spider-man 2...school those kids....
🌲I love the mix tape for the tree!!!
I love to hear otis sing
Huh. Took me a few jumps and hoops to get here, but i like this. I must be maturing 😂
Proper!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
The big O is the man
My favorite singer, Otis Redding. My favorite band, Booker T. and the MG's with the Memphis Horns. And originally made famous by my Great-Cousin, the incomparable Charles Brown. It can't be Christmas without playing this great song!
