Jeez we had one of these in our fleet just as I got out of the bus driving game, it was much smaller though, it mainly went out on runs where there wasn't many people. No loud gearbox in it, I don't recall what it had in it but it was 4 speed auto turbocharged 6cyl diesel.

Drove one of those (bit older model) for many, many years, straight 6 naturally aspirated diesel with a Morse (I think it was) 4 speed auto. It was slow, smoky but very reliable. Edit: after a while thinking (it's been 20 years) it was an early 80's model fitted with an International straight 6 with an Allison 4 speed auto and no exhaust brake, Morse was the brand of selector and was the old "stair type" looking selector mounted on the left side of the dash above the engine hump. This Hino bus was the later models of the PMG, we had one in our fleet for a while, never drove it though. Good memories, today's buses are luxurious but very boring.
