    Phil was a complete ass in this interview, more than just childish, as Miss Hepburn noted.

    He was never my favorite but I think she enjoyed it. I think Katherine Hepburn was a glutton for punishment and I think she enjoyed difficult men I think in some perverse way he reminded her a little bit of Spence she even commented on his hair being the same. So the people clutching the pearls that she was all offended No don't be ridiculous. She was eccentric he is indifferent sometimes I thought it was a lovely interview from an interviewer who is not my favorite.

    Phil Donahue trying, aggressively, to dig dirt. I'm glad she called him "childish." I think Donahue was envious of Spencer, And flummoxed by her rationality. He is really pretty obnoxious.

    I love how Katharine keeps her composure and continues to say “yes”’and sticks to her guns. “Does that shock you”…”is that wrong?” Ha ha I think she was fab!

    It's amusing to see Miss Hepburn here. Back in 1973, she had never done a television talk show. She and Dick Cavett did an impromptu interview that was extraordinary. Apparently, she enjoyed the experience because she did many other shows, including this one with Phil.

    She complained about smut and filth in pictures yet she herself posed nude in pictures at a very young age. She's dismissive but it's obvious she doesn't want to admit she contributed to today's oversaturation with p*rn in movies and sexualisation in entertainment. Lucille Ball was another hypocrite of the same manner. Don't complain about the filth while you're actively contributing to it.

    I kinda agree with her regarding faith , i hold a faith i become one of Jehovahs witnesses this faith took away my fear of death because in my faith it is just a simple sleep unlike the rubbish and lies i was told as a Catholic with purgatory Heaven and Hell fire 🙄 Many of us need a hope i live in hope daily . Spencer Tracey was a Catholic , it gave him no peace its a rotten religion filled with fear and lies . Hepburn was a one off she was a good actress i hope she is sleeping well .

    This, too, is fraudulent. Katharine Hepburn created a public persona that in no way matched who she truly was. Mr. Donahue must have known it even here. She and at least one of her sisters were lesbians and Tracy was gay (or as they called it then "homosexual") The celluloid closet is far deeper than most truly realize. Finding her brother dead from auto-erotic asphyxiation all those years prior took a terrible toll on young Hepburn. The family (like all good Old Guard families) bore it in denial so well that most don't realize the truth of it or that it was easily the most formative event of her young life leaving her defensive and distrustful of most. How could it not be otherwise?

    This is the best interview I've seen with Katherine Hepburn as always she is independent strong yet I found her extremely sweet. She tolerant Phil answered his questions truthfully. I don't agree with all her views but I certainly respected her . She was a fabulous actress I believe Spencer Tracey was the better one unfortunately the most troubled one 😔 ❤️

  • @stardusth2o
    @stardusth2o Жыл бұрын

    Donahue’s interview style is so aggressive it reminds me of how a lawyer might question a witness on the stand. It sometimes leads to some interesting answers from his subjects but boy can it be hard to watch. Hepburn was certainly more than capable to hold her own in the face of such an abrasive, perhaps tactless, approach nonetheless.

    You can't "cover your bets". Phil seems to be an intelligent man but he just can't get that! You can't MAKE yourself believe. You could SAY you believe, but you cannot make yourself believe. On top of that, If you chose the right religion would just be a matter of luck.
