I was never a major league prospect but, I taught myself wrist control when I was a little kid being bored throwing railroad rocks back in the early 70's. I think that's where a lot of this comes from, controlling the wrist and having it come naturally to you. (not saying they did the same thing) In the 90's I ended up playing 3rd base in some slow pitch softball leagues and the first basemen always told me my ball danced all over the place, the balls had a raised seem though compared to Major Leage baseballs. Wish I could have corralled that movement back in the early 80's. I guess we all do though!

A lot of people mock the balk rule, but a balk is definitely a real thing, and if there was no balk rule the game would look completely different. Sometimes refs blow the call like they can blow any call, but it is definitely good that the balk rule is in place.

I had a friend in high school who played catcher and got a concussion because he was hit in the mask by a foul tip and then in the back of the mask by the bat

Easy solution: Hit batter below the waste goes to 1st; hit batter above the waste goes to 3rd.

Eventually one of these days some of these pitchers are going to be able to throw so hard that no catcher will be able to catch it, it'll be coming in too quickly.

Being a pitcher is like sitting 150 yds out on a driving range - you're technically not the target for anyone, but it does need much of a deviation to hit you.

some of this are obvious missed hit and runs. Look at how bad of jump some of the runners are getting.

This one kindasorta hit me in the feels. Well done, regardless of a few repeat clips. Also, Philly gets a bad rep, but a lot of these are Philly fans handing off the ball. And kudos for digging up the clip of the young Philly fan throwing the ball back!

actually i would like to ask if for 6:18 that situation, the pitcher doesnt step off the pitcher plate and continue his pitching motion, and the catcher step forward to the homeplate as third runner trying to steal home. then 1) is that still count as a pitch, that means either a ball / strike should be given after that "throw"? 2) can the batter actually genteelly swing his bat and contact with the catcher so that it's catcher interference? my main concern is that, i believe if the pitcher step off the pitcher plate before throwing to home plate, then it would be similar to picking off a runner. but then if the pitcher doesnt step off so it should still be a legit normal pitch?

1:01 that's a strike.
