Embracing Tom Dorrance's timeless wisdom, John Saint Ryan advocates for a paradigm shift: working with horses from the inside out. By prioritizing trust-building on every level, John lays the groundwork for an ethical and fulfilling bond between horse and human.
John had to find Tom Dorrance and the rest as they say is history. John became an avid student and friend. Together they created his first training video ‘Greetings from Tom Dorrance’, which was a great success and lead to several other training videos including ‘Feel, Timing & Balance’ and a biographical video called ‘Visits with Tom’.
John spends his time teaching Equitation Science and helping beginners learn how to ride and more advanced riders how to improve their skills. His Home Ranch is in Southern California and he also travels throughout the country giving lectures and clinics on equitation.

Good to see and hear you!
She's a mare.
This man changed the horse world and made it so much better for a lot of horses and horse people. And he did it without a big social media platform.
Menuda mierda de jinete
That Scene is in the Movie The Horsewhisperer, where Buck Brannaman trained Horses and Robert Redford too. Very cool.
Appreciate you keeping his ways alive. He lives on in the hearts of many horses for generations to come for what he did for them.
Nice!
Love your way of being
Great job ❤
"It don't matter what the horse is used for."
Am I lost, or is it that people miss the mark here, get the basics right and then move on, 12:41
Thank you for such a helpful video! I want to experiment with this style riding and this is something I can make!!
Wow, very thoughty. would you say this is a core element ?
thanks
Happy fathers day! have a brunch gig today and was just playing along with this beautiful tune.....all love, k
thank you
" you don't, you take square one with you " the elegance of simplicity. gettin to the age where i need subtitles, damn. all thanks, k
Two for two! Now I am a fan, John. Great work.
John- really nice job on this classic Croz song. I think you captured many of the nuances of the song in a very similar style to David's. Great choice. Thank you. Dan
The ending was especially beautiful. Great job!!!
@@JohnSaintRyanHorsemanship I think he changed it quite a few times. When he played it with CPR on 2003-2004 the last chord sounded different to me than it had in the past. I bet Jeff Pevar could speak to this, or James Raymond.
Any footage of Mr. Dorrance is good footage. Thanks for posting it.
Too true, thanks,k
Like it John.
💜What a great way to explain training & riding! Thank you!
I believe they are 4 meters long, something like 13'4''.
@@JohnSaintRyanHorsemanship Thank you. Gotta get some wood.
It's a beautiful thing to see this again. I still have my original string.
I'd give anything to have been sober and been able to spend some time with him! The knowledge this man had of horses is priceless!
Too many people that compete only think of themselves at the expense of the horse. That is wrong. The well being of the horse comes first in good horsemanship.
Big Nick Rafferty on the plain, excellently singing (and whistling) mournful cowboy love songs! Quality!
Fantastic!
Mr. Dorrance doesn’t seem impressed with pedigrees, rather he’s honoring the individual horse.
This is awesome 🤣
We should all study at the feet of Him. Thanks for providing this glimpse.
Lol. When was this shot? Bar bar dos. 😂
I so agree with this line of thought. I bought a 5 yr old cutting horse, that had never gotten through a show due to having been pushed so hard at 2 and 3, that he developed ulcers. I let him be a horse, created a connection, treated his ulcers and we were able to compete and win regularly for 3 or so years ($35k). At one point he was clearly telling me he didn't enjoy the pressure anymore, so I stopped competing. He is now enjoying life at 24.
master thoughts. thanks, k
Beautiful song 💐
@@JohnSaintRyanHorsemanship Aww that is very sweet, but you certainly have a nice thing going with your guitar yourself 😊
