We will try recording our trip from preparation of our boat to travel from Lowestoft east coast to Southampton south coast UK and the following visits to the location in that area.
Starting with jobs in the boat to do before leaving.
Good luck to us on this 240 mile journey by sea. Please subscribe to help us with this.

My favourite car deck (when they're in use) D deck (mezzanine)
Hope no sharks about or jovie would be in lol xx
That was good just watched videos xx
She should fare a lot better with the dark antifouling, looking really smart!
Salut! yeah,this is top masterpiece, farewell~Jd's- :)
Couldn’t add music by mobile for some reason
Looking nice and clean did 😅
Great to see her back in the water!!!
Awesome quality ...I would love one. Dam you could film. Movie seen s. With just the camera on this. No need for tho s big boom pole s .to put the camera on to film from birds eye view ..great for housing in music film clip s ..or for KZread vids. 😊
I have found my mini 3 pro flys well in the wind. What the wind does is causes the drone to use more battery power trying to keep stable.
Really enjoyed your. Video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you. Will be going again this year I think so will do some slower versions
Crikey, it has a full-on beard there!
It's a bit bad but then I did blow all the antifouling off in July so to expected ish. It's not clean still the worms are like concrete but back to 24knt. Come out again in March
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 Yep - I don't miss the harbour worm from Lowestoft one bit!
Oh come on! Open it up, let's see what it can do! 😁
Challenge accepted I will do that soon but the 3.5hp 4 strike just made more noise. So I think this will be better. Next time it’s out I’ll give it full beans for you. This day I was unsure how long it would last so was just being sparring.
We have exactly the same, the only issue I have found with ours is that if I leave the battery it will self-discharge over a period of about 14 days - I have never found out whether it is supposed to do this or not and E-Prop never answered my question regarding this - otherwise, it is a great motor and we use it in conjunction to a new lightweight tender that we purchased last year. We also bought ours second hand with a 3G tender from a great couple who keep their boat at Brundall. The tender was a little small for us and we sold that way too cheaply to a cruising sailor, but cant fault the motor - and yes - they are on the market second hand and are much better than the new price! Apparently the battery floats! Haven't quite felt necessary to test that! A great purchase - you wont be disappointed. The best bit is that the motor itself isn't that heavy and you can get it on the transom securely alot easier than an outboard and you aren't having to carry petrol.
It is indeed supposed to self discharge to a storage level all on its own. So battery is ok and doing it's thing. How is life in nitros and Somerleyton bridge jamming?
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 It get stuck all on its own now and it doesn't even need a hit day - not helped by a Broom hire craft jamming itself underneath on a rising tide a couple of weeks ago as it slowly crushed itself - they even stopped the rail traffic until an inspection had taken place - I can see someone's insurance taking a hit. Meanwhile there are problems at Mutford and only very limited opening times, Yarmouth still isn't operational (Either Bridge) and there is sooo much weed that venturing off the main rivers is a gamble so, altogether, that 13.8% toll rise has been well worth us coming back to the Broads this year... ;) Bet you wished you stayed hey? But the one positive thing we did was definitely buy the e-motor - I actually do love it!!!
Its a LithiumIon Battery and needs to discharged for storage a longer time. So the BMS is discharging it by itself after 2 Weeks to keep Battery safe in storage.
@ I thought as much but didn't think they completely discharged, well, for a three year old motor it is still performing well and I hope JD is happy with their's as well!
@@lovelifeloveboat it shouldn*t be completely dischaged. Load the Battery to 80% and then check in storage all 3 month. if it goes lower than 20% recharge it again up to 80% , The night before use, charge it to 100% and use it next day...
I must admit, we are having a little bit of a clearout at the moment - great to see you out on the water!
Dreaded outdrives! Need some new props there pal.
Perfect weather for a powerboat trip.
I really couldn't of wished for a better day in March
I estimate the cost of that passage at around £1,200 - that about right...?
Think at the fuel cost at the time it was 800-900 but not far out . So so so much better than it on a lorry for 3k though
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 Oh-sure. But it's getting to be an expensive way to travel...
Ah I missed this episode soooo just catching up!!!
That doesn't look too bad at all, not like the last time I lifted in Lowestoft, I think a whole greenhouse came up after!!!! Certainly found that the biggest problem for us has been dirty props!
It's always the props. Issues with this is prop only just sent on and on 3 weeks it looks carpeted.
Never had that much of an issue in the broads lol
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 Oh I haven't since I have been back in there, but at Lowestoft!!!! harbour worm rife!!! We were at ABP near the third crossing!
Looked much like mine prior to the Marina sorting it out. Nothing a power washer won’t sort
That is Gorgeous. You could practically live on this one. What more could anyone ever wish for. The Gorgeous wood , not sure what it is, perhaps Cherry or something similar. Loved this one.
Thank you, Just as well as I’m going to have to very soon.
It's been a while matey. You struggling to get time to and weather?
nice to see someone having the opportunity to use their boat 👍
Can you slow down your video, would like to see the island. By the way I was born on the island, left in 1957 as a child. Anyway hope all of you enjoy your stay.
Thought I'd replied to this. Sorry about speed is a lovely place and I'll sure to go back and so take note of your comment to be slower..

Love your videos, you deserve way more subs! But, and i hate to add to your misfortune, but that ticking engine is definitely getting worse compared to your earlier videos? Hopefully it's just valve backlash adjustment.
Hi , thanks for the comment appreciate that. and as much as i agree with tapping noise it has been like that but with canopy up it amplifies it more? still want it fixed though but it appears to come and go more , prop fix next bit required . always expense. valve gaps are ok but need to recheck but when l did them last last one on cylinder 6 was noticeably stiffer than the rest so wonder if it hangs slightly. once again thank you for support.
odd when running bit harder in goes away. love for it to not do it though, it came on once when we had it out for antifouling few years back then when we restarted it had that rattle ??? never been any different since. fix it soon i hope
Born and bred on the Isle of Wight, still love the place,
Lovely place to be..
must try and keep it in 4k when transferring and adding but editing software i was using has stopped so got to get use to another one so apologies
Hi. the beach is name lepe beach and is pronounced leap.
Sorry to hear it wasn't a very rewarding day for you product wise but I enjoyed your video very much. It was a pleasant meander through the Show exhibits with a boating family. Your camera is excellent! Very sharp, clear and stable shots with great audio quality. One day I might be able to get down to Southampton and see the Show myself! Good luck for your future boating ventures. 😊
Thanks for watching. Yes we had bigger plans for the day but as mentioned in other videos we do it fur reminders on our life events with the little one. Is definitely worth a trip down to go. Looking round the new boats is such an eye opener to how lovely they are and we can only dream of ever owning one.
Nice
Just out of interest, can you plug in a diagnostics system to interrogate the engine problems?
Hi No these are pure anything electrical so not much to tell you there is issue. Think we just had build up if broth in props and somehow by shear unlucky luck blade broke about same time.
Great video, I miss the whine of the Volvo superchargers, great boat the Targa 37, I had one for 7 years and it never let me down
Its served us well so far over the 4 years we owner her but the river isnt what its for. But this new venture down the south coast is proving very much what it was made for. Thanks for watching
Stay blessed guys
What did that cost in terms of fuel used?
We had fair bit in the boat when fuel was sooooooooo much cheaper so had 1 tank that probably cost half the second but estimate around £600-700, Truck wanted £2800 before fuel prices moved.
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 but you must have had an epic voyage 👍🏻👍🏻. A great feeling of personal satisfaction I would imagine
@@PhilbyFavourites yes it was a big challenge in a 26 year old boat. Lots could go wrong and it didn't so very pleased to do it and in better time than I though we would.
That was a very long day! 750lts of fuel wow - must have been circ £1500 worth. Would it not have been cheaper to put the boat on a lorry? I have a Targa 30 and find the fuel consumption is much better around 3k revs just off the superchargers @ approx 22kts ish.
It was just before the fuel went bonkers so timed it right really. But lorry was circa £3000. And adventure would have been missed. The speed I was doing was actually not ideal but I had limited time in open water before the trip. So could compare different burn rates with different speed. It was out of super charger but feel now I would have gone a touch faster to bring nose down slightly but we live and learn. I would have also spent more time at the key points. Really didn't back off much at all. Also had to stand to look out for fishing and lobster pots. Was defo long day. Eastbourne stop for fuel if later in the day would have been nice place to rest, but was there at mid day haha thanks for watching
I’m curious, I always thought superchargers ran continuously as they are usually belt driven as opposed to a turbocharger that comes on line when the exhaust gas pressure is high enough at a certain rpm.
@@dospalmascb super chargers on these are belt driven pulley but they are clutch activated. They come in around 1500-2400rpm
You want to travel by land buy a car lol.
Terrible sound and monotonous views, boats nice I suppose
Yes sorry about the sound. Was only the phone as driving and getting to get there asap. It's all coast line when in a boat travelling. I did video the Eastbourne marina but it didn't work? Different view and technical glitch.. Sorry you didn't find it interesting. Was a difficult journey. A challenge for me I guess.
Would be nice if you can get some shots from different angles, great journey though...
I agree with that. Was in tight schedule I guess as it originally as need to do rather than nice to do. But after doing it wish I i had spent longer taking it all in.
Oh my days! With all that marine life down there I'm surprised David Attenborough isn't filming a documentary?
Barnacles on and a broken prop, robbing fuel and speed.
Yep. That's why we have boats for the beautiful views that make all the hassle worthwhile:-)
They do try us at times for sure. But you can't get enough of it when they behaving
How many miles was that journey?
That was 240 I believe
Ironically, we have just taken our boat out after 4 weeks and was faced with the same problem - 4 weeks ago, 30kts, yesterday 18... recently antifouled.. so I had a peep underneath with the gopro and even after 30+ miles at sea, there is literally a green beard and more crustaceans underneath than I had ever seen - well worth an investigation with a gopro or similar, at the state of the hull!
If you seen the latest video snippet is all around my prop and I have a piece missing on the port drive front prop. Guess it's extra spicy with growth this year
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 Apologies, I hadn't seen that - If you can get the boat to quite shallow water, you may be able to avoid a lift to change the props, just the spinner and a nut! On the other hand it is dooable with a quick survey type lift and bottom wash (I have also previously managed to mostly antifoul the underside of a boat like this too! :) Am enjoying your videos - including your long haul down from Lowestoft! When you raise the drives to beached position (+38/40) can you get the spinners out of the water and get a better look?
@@lovelifeloveboat did have a go Saturday but not tried it again yet. Could do with a quick blast of and pro change maybe
Hello from a fellow Solent / Itchen boater! There’s a few sandy spots around. Priory Bay towards the eastern tip of the IOW would be my top recommendation.
Ooooooh thanks for that. Will have to pay that a visit.
We did Shotley to Brighton via Ramsgate in the 1990’s in a Rinker 300 with a single 5.7ltr Mercruiser doing 2 miles to the gallon! - it was so different with no wind turbines - really enjoyed the video - brought back great memories - thank you
That brave with one v8. That crossing straight from Harwich to Ramsgate I have to say makes you nervous even with two engines. But those are 26 years old
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 - we had to carry 2 x 5 gallon containers of petrol and call into Bradwell Marina to fill up and then fill up at Ramsgate - a couple of diesels would have been lovely - the capacity was 65 gallons and we watched the fuel gauge closely - getting into Ramsgate outer harbour in the dark!!
@@mikeh1404 my butt would have been twitching. My first larger boat was sunseeker with twin v8 5.7. As you said you watch fuel gauge as it's always in a hurry downward. Sound great though and go so well.
So sad to see the wind farm that is going to do nothing to help Brits with soaring inflation and fuel costs.
Nope no help at all. But then if they didn't put electric up for a reason to capture electric cars what else could they blame.
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 I apologize for getting political. I enjoyed the video.
@@zekelucente9702 no problem. Glad you enjoyed it.
Looks like you are having a great holiday, have you checked the boost pressure from the turbos? we have the same engines in our Hardy Seawings 355 of a similar age, performance was dropping off, so fitted boost pressure gauges (which indicated low boost), replaced both turbos and she was like new again. Also had all injectors overhauled - good maintenance practice but didn't seem to improve performance, keep the videos coming, an interesting watch.
Hi yes replaced one turbo and both set of injectors overhaul /replaced nozzle. Odd thing is it was fine then we didn't go out for few weeks and then it's been bad since. Turbo do spin. But I have the other one so will do it soon. Thanks for watching.
