Thanks so much for this video. My kitchenmaid is also a piece of junk...but thanks to you we were able to remove the door and drawers to clean out all the ice that had collected under the big drawer. You are awesome!!!

Thanks so much! Couldn't find instructions on this anywhere else. My problem was the top drawer had jumped off the rails at the back and was jammed. Removing the door allowed me to reach in while the bottom drawer was closed and lift the top one back into the runner.

I have this refrigerator right now lest that 2 years old, it’s making noises cutting on and of by itself, I can’t tell you the amount of money I’ve lost from the freezer not freezing

I have had the same problem. In that fridge there are two computer boards. One runs the main refrigerator. The other one controls the temperature of the two deli drawers. If you have a technician turn off the separate board that runs the deli drawers, they won’t be in conflict and that problem won’t occur. At least that’s what worked for my piece of shit KitchenAid

Very useful for me. Thank you! My freezer was faltering (ice cream melting) and I wanted to get back to the cooling grid to see if it was frosted over (it was). I couldn't get to it to check it without taking out the drawers. This video showed me how. Thanks again! Edit: one thing I noted when you're putting in the bottom drawer, you need to make sure that the very back of the "drawer rail" is far enough back over the "sliding rail" so that the little notches will actually fall all the way into place.

Agreed. After I accomplished this step, it looks like on my model that they set the screws for the inside back cover panel BEHIND the side shelving sliders. It's one obstacle after another.

Thank you so much for this video! It made the clean up so much faster! We agree - Kitchen Aid refrigerators are pieces of crap. this one is now relegated to an overflow Beer/soda fridge in our garage. To add insult to injury, their Customer Service also stinks. We appreciate you taking the time out to video this for us. Thanks!

Such a simple thing! Thanks for saving some time (and maybe some broken parts)! 600+ people have viewed. Don'tcha think that would tell the manufacturer something?

glad it helped. There are 600 likes, but there are over 100,000 views. That should definitely tell KitchenAid that they need to either a publish something helpful or, I don’t know make a better product.😏

Does anyone have a problem with excess condensation and a fishy smell that moves around between the freezer and fridge and is there sometimes and not others??? My Kitchenaid fridge is less than three weeks old and I had the repairman here last week when the control panel at the top was filled with condensation as well as excess condensation throughout. I’m not doing any of the things that bring on condensation. He couldn’t find the problem but suggested I empty it, unplugs t and let it dry out for a few days so I’m doing that now. This thing is driving us nuts!

Thought I'd never get those tab stops out... THANKS! Best video I've found! I'll add that I pushed the flat head screwdriver (medium sized one) underneath, just like you did, and then I turned the handle back & forth to pry it up a bit. Then I pushed the screwdriver in a little deeper and turned the handle again to pry it up further. Then pulled it with my fingers kind up-and-out. ...Now to remove the light cover and order a new LED lightbulb. Light in freezer and in top of fridge are out. Same circuit. See this guy --who skips over the tab removal, perhaps bc he's doing it wrong and probably broke it or ruined the tabs this way ;) kzread.info/dash/bejne/k5yjs498d5q7lZs.html

This is what happens when you outsource manufacturing to the lowest bidder overseas. You get junk... I still have American made stand up freezer that is 45 years old and works perfectly. My washer and drier are also American made, and 28 years old, so is my microwave. and my cook top.
