It's like Axiel swage.
Yup. I’m in one of those houses in ATL. I was nice to my plumber and had him install a tankless.
Great work man!!!
I've LOOKED at CPVC and it shattered
Order your materials BEFORE you start a job. Contracting 101. You're welcome
@@JoeLiberalism Sometimes in the plumbing emergency service game things come up immediately with no advanced warning at all . Thanks for sharing your experience and watching our video!!
Lol, just solder it after a small sanding
@@holmestim63 That would be a lot of steam to deal with in this particular circumstance. Thanks so much for watching our video!!
I think the expansion tank is supposed to hang downward
@@joshphilips9919 According to the install sheet that is provided with the tank this is excepted as well. Thanks so much for watching our video!!
😂😂😂😂 that’s not a propress. Even if it was. It had to be attempted at solder for a reason. And you chose the same that you thought. Your hands aren’t dirty enough for 40 years plumbing.
@@pjplumber2146 I try my best to keep the hands very clean. Plumbing is extremely nasty! Thanks for commenting and for watching our video!!
Shoulda refused and put in a tankless.
@@tuvoca825 She didn’t want to spend the money.
Homie probably charged 500$ for that repair
@@christopheroberry5726 Why do you guess that? Are you a plumber?
Thank you sooooo much!!!!!!:-)))))
@@lolaloren1773 You’re welcome!!
Great parallel with life and plumbing. You speak the truth.
@@johnhardy9935 Thanks for the kind words and for watching our video!!
I’m no plumber at all. All the plumbing I’ve done was fixing leaks on a few mobile homes I own but they all had that cheap (gray) now illegal) pvc. But why not just use one connector where you first cut the pipe?
@@clownshoesmma6249 To avoid getting my tools right up on the floor joist . There was not too much slack in the line. Thanks for the great question and for watching our video!
Looks good
@@RavenBlaze Thanks so much for the kind words and for watching our video!
Just solder and fill in the crack. No need to cut and do extra work
@@misterkay7100 That might have been very challenging to deal with the steam my friend. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching our video!
Ours is in the corner, behind our washing machine.
@@jeffreyhall5307 I guess that is a little better than in a closet that is too small. Thanks for watching our video and commenting!!
electrolysis
@@cryptodegenerate503 Could be. Thanks for watching!!
They sold fittings with solder in them already just flux and apply heat not a propres fitting to me they where just garbage
@@kendrawilliams1348 We learned this fact after posting the video. You have a very popular opinion of those fittings. People do not like them . Thanks for watching our video!
Could have used the pipe cutter from the beginning and cut down some minutes.
Pex
@@gdizzzl why do you suggest this my friend!!
I helped my neighbor by repairing some bad copper piping from his WH. I soldered it because I'm an actual licensed journeyman plumber. Pro press has it's place if you're fighting water. If you aren't,then you're being lazy or you aren't proficient at soldering, which is most "plumbers" these days
Newer hot water heaters are bigger in diameter.
@@audiehitchcock2167 That is definitely true my friend! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!
Put some roofing tar around it
@@anthonypagan9377 Thank you so much for your suggestion and for watching our video!!
Gonna suck when that cpvc goes bad.
@@arickhoops It should last a very long time because there should never actually be any water in it unless the T& P opens. I get your point though my friend. That is why I only use it on pan or T& P lines. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!
Looks clean
@@creeper2479 Thanks!!

It was a Yorkshire fitting you mug ... mupet
@@nathanwhiteside9502 I am gonna guess you are from the UK ? My next guess is mug muppet is probably not a compliment 😂😂.
The thing is people are not learning these skills from their dad or grandpa anymore. Most Men today can’t change a tire or their oil.
True that, when I was in school we were taught these things in shop as well if we were not fortunate enough to have a parent or mentor teach us. Thank you so much for watching!!
Thanks for speeding up the crimping process. 👍🏻
You bet!...LOL
@@TappPlumbing yeah I get tired of seeing all the other Plumbing channels just do it in normal speed or not fast enough like they’re basically just showing off their pro press tool
@@michaelcatalanottohandyman Thanks so much for your feedback back on this ! I actually don’t spend much time looking at other plumbing content because I stay busy making ours. This is great info! Thanks again!!
I did to of these yesterday
@@51-FS That is pretty weird! I almost never have one ripped out of a copper system. Of course it happens on cpvc several times a year. Good to hear from you brother! Hope all is well !!
@TappPlumbing hope u guys are doing well to,mine was split from them freezing.
@@51-FS I’m assuming that it’s well water or high acidity water and the cheap thin copper pipes because from the look of where it broke in the video it’s extremely thin looking right there. I’m assuming something was eating the pipe up from the inside or was a faulty manufactured pipe.
@@michaelcatalanottohandymanor he didn’t have insulation and or hose bib termination sealed.
I must say this is a first, bless his heart, doing good for our neighbors sometimes cost us but still worth doing!
You do not put drywall screws on copper you dummy
Put a tankless water heater they r excellent
@@connieadams607 They are great products but she did not want to pay for one. Thanks for a great suggestion and for watching our video!!
Had to replace a 75gal gas water heater down in a basement. Carrying it down a hill through overgrown basement access door next to heat pumps and blackberry briars. The old water heater was 38years old and the bottom fell out moving it. Water heater replacement sometimes is a nightmare
@@ryanyork837 I can definitely relate my friend! I hope the bottom didn’t fall out when you were in a finished basement. We always have to be careful when moving those type of heaters not to injure ourselves also. Thanks so much for watching our video!!
You're the greatest man!
@@zoelafantaisie9287 Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching our video!!
Your pipe wasn't in your fitting all the way either. You should have soldered it and used slip couplings.
@@CT-qx8nl I passed on the solder because I didn’t want to have to put up with the steam . I am pretty confident that repair should last for decades. Thanks so much for watching our video!!
Wrap the s*** out of it with 10 mil Pasco tape and then coat it with blue glue

The entire point of the slip coupling is so your pipe can be close inside the fitting, just about the sloppiest 1/2” repair imo

When raising pressure what psi should it be?
@@pjones1246 You definitely do not want to go above 80 . I normally try to leave it around 50 to 60. Your plumbing system is fine with it being on the lower side. Thanks for a great question and for watching our video!!
@TappPlumbing definitely thanks for responding and keep up the great content
one cut one fitting needed to do this repair. 2 couplings is extra expense
@@yeshuatamayo6508 The way the original pipe was cut there would be no way one coupling could span that difference my friend. Thanks so much for watching our video!!
If solder is king, why did you put crap pro press in
@@deloach205 Pro press is a great alternative when we need to save some time and don’t want to battle the steam . What makes you think pro press is crap?
since is gas fed, why didn't you just go to a tankless?
