As an EV owner since 2011, this channel is dedicated to Tesla Model 3 and Fisker Ocean owners that like to modify and learn more about their amazing cars. Look forward to mods, accessories, tips and tricks that I want to share.
BTW, I hate talking head videos where you look at the host as they jabber on for 30 minutes or more. I present and edit for maximum content, how-to details, or at least visual enjoyment! No need to look at my mug for the whole video, no gratification of ego here.

Thank you Matt - another super useful video. I had to jump start my FOE - but thanks to YOU - I was all prepared! I also have the monitor and tender to give me feedback. Unfortunately my battery is toast! It won't hold a charge anymore - so I just drive the car in circles (from my house to house) so that I can keep it alive with the tender. SOOO, looking forward to that video of yours that will let me know how to swap that 12v battery - maybe with a higher quality one!? Thanks again for all your instructional videos and your more fun videos - I have to say that it has transformed my experience owning a Fisker from something nightmarish to something (almost) kind of fun - as in, what is the next little project that Matt has in store for us! Keep it up!🙌🙏
You can now say that your car is Long Range
Hi Matt. Do you know where else I can buy the Lift Pucks? They are sold out on Etsy
I'm planning on a DIY video soon.
That red tint looks like crap just remove it
I installed a monitor and tender leads using your excellent videos. 12V Battery was showing 100% charge after a 30 mile drive, overnight with no chargers of any sort connected it has dropped to 75% though still at 12.68V. Is that "normal" for a FO? Main battery shows no loss yet but I have been seeing @0.5%/day since 2.0.
@@cptpltM2000 What are you using as a battery monitor?
@@MTNRanger the quicklynks BM2 you suggested in earlier videos
@@cptpltM2000 I was asking because I don't see percentages on the monitor app's voltage chart. Where are you getting those?
@@MTNRanger Not on the graph but when you connect there is that blue circle with the voltage its reading and just above the circle there is a %. This morning it must have charged from the big battery overnight as it was at 99%. I guess it just drops to some level and the big battery charges up the 12V.
@@denniswen5684 Funny, I never paid attention to the percentage before. Over time you if you watch the two week chart, you will see occasional periods where the battery drops to near 12.0. But if it stays in the 12.4-12.9 range, you're good. What was bad was before update 2.0, the voltage would drop into the 11s and that causes lots of subsystem errors (telltales on the driver screen) and seriously weakens the battery.
Hi Matt, great video as usual! I was wondering if you had tried to open up the spare Fisker emblem that you have in order to get access to the bulb. I was wanting to do that with mine on my car but didn’t want to break it. My thought was that I might either be able to replace the bulb with a red one, or possibly coat the clear bulb with a red tinted substance in order to acquire the red look. TIA
Yes, I tried using the heat gun and tools. It would not budge. It's probably plastic bonded to be water tight. If I'm feeling especially destructive, I could try to dremel it. Future video I suppose.
Thank you for your help in so many topics. We went to wedding for two nights. When we returned the car was dead. Not able to use NFT reader to unlock the car. I will call AAA to jumpstart the car. I will be buying battery tender and monitor but until then what do you suggest to do?
I wish you luck. There is a good video by Mike that may help you: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6ZsxpqeZ6_NdMo.html
@@MTNRangerThank you Matt.
Dale Bugno After AAA jumped the car, I was able to unlock and start the car. I thought, doggy windows will not work but to my surprise California mode worked. I asked the AAA to check battery after jump start and it showed 13.1 volt. Before leaving for my trip I charged car to 80% and left charger connected so that it remains at 80% but it seems it did not help charge 12 volt battery. In the future I will connect the battery tender before leaving and also turn off auto mode for the headlights and also turn off Bluetooth.

@@jatinshah1257 Very interesting. I would keep an eye on the voltage over time when you install a battery monitor. Hopefully it was a one time thing.
Matt - really nice job. Having the logo red is required in CA, so I never considered doing the rear logo light mod. Now I’m inspired to try. Thanks!
I don't see a link pinned... I want that, along with front one.
Links are in the video description. www.etsy.com/listing/1727526870/fisker-ocean-lighted-hatch-fisker-badge
Very cool! Do you know where the info regarding the different states’ emblem lighting can be found? I’m in Florida, is the white emblem lighting OK? Thank you Matt
Most states will probably have the same law. I would look up Florida's statutes just to be certain.
I can see where a steady hand would come in handy when doing your cutting. Your final looked much better. Too bad it’s not legal to keep the white logo as is lit.
Yes, I used to have a better dexterity, but I'm old now.
Do you know in which states is legal to have the white emblem in the back?
Pretty much all of them it is illegal.
Just to be certain, I would search your state's vehicle statutes online.
Can we use other lift pucks from Amazon sellers
Are there any specifically for the Ocean? The ones for Tesla do not work.
@@MTNRanger Thanks Matt I just order the ones that you have. Also, is there any tire center that you think does a great job in rotating the Fisker wheels (COSTCO, Discount Tire) ? Costco told me that they did have pucks and can rotate the car tires. What's your thoughts and experience. Also, When it comes to replacement breaks, what kind to you recommend and who to replace them? I live in Atlanta, GA. Thanks for all your help and what you do for us remaining Fisker Owners.
@@120Loop I've been using Discount Tire for over twenty years and they are the best where I live. But if Costco has the lift pucks, I don't see a problem.
@@MTNRanger Awesome. Who do you recommend for brake service and do we have to get a special kind of brake for the Fisker?
@@120Loop Brakes are the last thing I'm worrying about. My six year old Tesla has brake pads that still look new. FOA is looking at replacement pads, but for some reason Brembo doesn't have the part number available.
so having testla to install one for me
Yes, probably the best way at this point. Back when I did this video more than year and a half ago, Tesla upgrade service wasn't available.

Would be interesting seeing the same tests done holding the doorhandles in simulating ice.
Yes, that would be a good test. Even better to have a gauge to measure the force.
@@MTNRanger I agree, hope to see it soon. Love your insightfull content on these great but somewhat buggy cars :)
Will 750mA Charger and Maintainer work as well or I need to buy the 4 Amp?
I really wouldn't go below a 3 to 4 Amp unit. You could try it and see, but I think it would run a long time trying to charge it up.
Will 750mA Charger and Maintainer work as well or I need to buy the 4 Amp?
I would get at least a 4 A charger/maintainer.
How often do you plug in the battery tender?
I try to plug in every night. Once the 2.1 update installs (maybe even 2.2), then I will probably only use it when I'm away for several days to weeks.
Great information. I have the same problem. Contacted hansshow and they sent me istructions for the sftware update bet there is no file to download. it looks like all my communications are going to China. I tried to contact hansshow in the US to no avail. There is nothing on the website to download the sfware update that I can find.
Interesting - when I contacted them recently they told me they had no timeline for these coming to market so I went with the LinerX ones instead.
Hard to say why you got wrong info, may be that person wasn't updated. They just went up for sale this week.
@@MTNRanger I'm thinking it's because I was asking them about 2023 MY Ocean, which still shows as unavailable, but if you choose 2024 they are there. The LinerX ones are working great.
@@anbock55 Yes, I just noticed that regarding the 2023 vs 2024. I'll add a note in the video description just in case.
I think we need some kind of movable cover to close the two rods of each front seats. These can hurt back seat passengers if they don’t wear shoes. Never see any car with that much exposed seat rails.
When you move the seat back to the normal position, the tracks are mostly covered. My Tesla seat rails look the same. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZZeHlLGIY6bZctI.htmlsi=V7BtxmOb-lIulgi4&t=698
lol Matt. That first 5 seconds of video 😂. You are becoming younger.
Or at least laying down on my garage floor.
I have absolutely no idea how you got the accelerator pedal on. It is an absolute pain. It’s almost as if it’s too small. Impossible.
It's recommended to heat the rubber on the covers so they slide on easier. This video is also six years old, so I'm not sure if the pedals changed over time.
@@MTNRanger I have a 2019 Model 3, I put them in scalding hot water for 10 minutes, then rubbed oil along the edge. There was no getting the accelerator on. Curled it over, tried to lift the rubber on the left side, and never could get it all. Rubbed my fingers so raw I took the brake pedal back off and threw them away.
@@SmoothGummi Well you did everything I would suggest. Which ones where these (there are lots of them out there)?
@@MTNRanger RPM Tesla
@@SmoothGummi I would seriously contact them and get a return/replacement. They did that for me when their LED lights broke after a couple months.
Hi, have you had any luck with getting in contact with Hansshow support on these firmware updates? My wife's H6 is flaky and reboots a lot. We did the update (worked great, your instructions are solid), and it seemed to fix it for a couple of days. But now, it's still reboots 2-3 times in her 20 min commute. I feel like it's faulty, but we can't seem to get a response from them.
I haven't noticed any issues, but I don't drive the car as often as I used to. I'll ask Hansshow. Thanks for your comment.
I just got a reply. They said to click on the chat link on the lower left side of their website. I know you said you tried to contact them, but try one more time with the direct service chat.
Any update on the durability of this product? Any issues since you have installed these PPF protectors? About to pull the trigger on a set and thought I would ask. Thanks
If you apply it correctly, PPF will last for years.
They look really good! Thank you 🤩 //
Hiii good morning! Thanks again for all your programs with the reviews of Fisker accessories. As well all your tips about repairs and fixes on the car. I have an Ocean One #1012, and I am expecting to have the updates for 2.1, which has not appeared.. and now I’m not even sure if I have all parts of 2.0. But I noticed that my car is no longer online? I can not connect to the car via the app… and can not monitor or have a location of the car. Are you having the same problem? Or do you know if there is a fix for this? Or is it because the company has decided to shut it off? Thank so much for your response, very much appreciated, Rirkrit
The number of cars in the US with 2.1 is maybe 20-25%, so there are still quite a few more to go. I'm waiting myself. From what I have read, they are updating any missing modules OTA before they send the 2.1 update. So that takes time. The FIsker cloud-to-app service has been down for two days now. We are still waiting for it to come back online.
@@MTNRanger Thanks! Did realized the Fisker cloud was down. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This was very helpful. Thank you very much. We anticipate that for many of us though the 12V will be run completely dead in the next weeks and months. It would be really great if you could also soon do a video on how to completely exchange the 12V battery. Which kind of batteries shall we buy and how to recalibrate windows, etc.
Thanks, I'll cover that in a future video. Unfortunately, we can't calibrate the windows without the FAST tool. So try to avoid disconnecting the 12V battery.
Why do the slats look so glossy? Are there any matte options? I could not find any but saw some pictures of proslat walls that look more matte.
Maybe just the video, they don't look that glossy to me. They only sell one finish, but you can pick colors.
What about auto unfolding it when you are backing out the garage?
Sadly, it doesn't offer that.
@@MTNRangerohhhh actually it does unfold automatically it you driving in 3 miles but didn’t help if I’m backing up the garage 😅
@@kimkimkat5791 Haha, gotcha.
Annoying fact that drove me crazy... your doors have to be shut for the '+' on the profiles screen to work. If not the '+' will be greyed out and not function.

@@quentinstephens1947 He is sold out right now. I guess my video helped with that! Keep checking in a week or so for restock.
Hi Matt I have another question regarding recalibration. The Autoglass refuse to replace the windshield without completing the recalibration. So do you have any idea. I can your manual say " using Fisker after sale service tool. " 🤔😓. Thank you
That is the FAST that is mentioned that the service techs use. FOA is trying to get access to this. Right now it's extremely limited. If you haven't joined FOA, I would recommend it. Then you could post this on their forum and see if anyone can help.
@@MTNRanger I have joint already
Sorry. I saw a comment that said they used a 30 cm extender. Thanks again. Having difficulty getting the piece below the steering wheel back in correctly.
Yes, it is tricky. The angled clips do need some finessing.
Great video. I'm thinking of installing the extender. What was the length of the extended you used? 30 cm?
I used the 60 cm, but 30 cm is all you really need. The 30 cm was out of stock when I was planning this video.
I have the ultra mini display 4,6, but would like to change it to the one you have in the video. Is the wiring the same, so I can use the same wirering from the 4,6 inch?
Unfortunately, all these displays use different wiring harnesses. It would make things so much easier if they were the same!
Good job. Thanks for the shout out too!!
Of course, we're all in this together!
Just watched this and was wondering if I could apply this to my own situation. My Android will no longer work with the car. Calls come thru but voice is just static. Couple questions. 1) Do you know which fuse controls the phone/voice? Would it be the same fuse? 2) When taking the fuse out and waiting for a reset are you having the car on?
The RF22/55 fuses control the Tbox and ICC modules. When pulled also turns of the center display. I'm not sure if there is a specific fuse for the phone/voice. Yes, the car is on when you remove/reinsert the fuse (it's technically always on!)
Why bother with the BT monitor? The charger should provide the charge state information?
I don't know of many 12V chargers that show that information. Mine doesn't. Also, the monitor stores two weeks of data that is helpful to determine when problems are occurring.
Do you have a link for the battery tender and extension cable?
@@mikeg3055 Yes, they are listed in the video description.
Hi Matt thanks for sharing. Is Ocean 12 voltage battery lead acid or lithium ?
@@chealay7251 It is an AGM lead acid 12V battery.
Would you be able to post the link of the terminal cable and the Bluetooth monitor that you used in this video? I would rather purchase using your link from Amazon. Thanks for all you do for the Fisker community.
@@aakashpatel-dw5oi Yes, I meant to add the links to the video description. It’s updated now. amzn.to/46gJvGC
Once you get software 2.1 will you be removing everything you just installed?
No, it's always good to monitor the 12V battery. The tender is also good for when you are away for the car for a week or more - less vampire drain and less wear-and-tear on the high voltage battery pack.
Since I took delivery of my Ultra I went away three times for a week to 10 days without any issues. Minimal vampire drain. Left the car charged at 80%. @@MTNRanger
@@jeffreymills4307 Yes, there appears to be great variation in vampire losses. Mine has about 1% a day on update 2.0.
Do you plug and leave the battery tender at night assuming 2.1 will install any day ?
@@sskv100 Yes.
I am NOT mechanically inclined at ALL. I've had my Ultra since December and I have not opened the hood even once. I wish I was mechanically inclined but I'm not. What advice, if any, can you give me to remain an Ocean owner WITHOUT having to do things like this? Thank you in advance.
Try to find someone that could do it for you - friend, auto repair shop, car audio installer, etc.
Great job. Applying mine today. Bought the same kit. How long is this expected to last? Thx
If properly applied, it should last for 7-10 years - similar to most PPF applications.
