Bought the grill used and thought sweet he’s throwing in pellets no worries. We’ll should’ve double checked before I stared haha

I went out to use my grill the day after a storm and the controller was completely dead, not responding. Found this fuse was burnt up so i replaced the fuse and the board comes on now and feeds pellets with the auger. Hot rod won't heat up now. This hot rod was juat replaced less than 5 cooks ago. Can't imagine its bad already...
@augietx86711 ай бұрын
Make sure the connection to the hot rod is tight but it sounds like you might need a new controller. They're pretty fragile(I'm on my 4th one) and often some parts will work still. They're like 25 bucks on eBay, 40 on Amazon. If you can wait, pitboss customer service would probably send you one for free.
@Famousfifty811 ай бұрын
@@augietx867 Yea I'm at that point now where I'm thinking, do I replace more parts, or do I just invest in a new grill instead? This thing has a new fire box and ignitor already. Honestly the auger motor has somehow held on for dear life with the little piece of aluminum that holds it in place when I have had it in some dire situations with jammed pellets many times. Has held up through a lot. But that scares me now because of the age. Had it for about 8 years now, and hate to let it go. There have been a lot of improvements in technology since then also. Not all improvements are a good thing though. My old 700FB has had far less issues than a lot of folks with the newer Austin XLs and such have had, so it has done me very well. Weirdly they are still more expensive than most newer Pit Boss units too, if you can find them online. Maybe they are just better old machines.

Add enough for the cook. You don't want to run out of pellets or your fire will go it. You can prime with everything on. If it gives you a code after a while, just turn it off and start priming again.
