Brilliant video moray, really shows how easy maintenance on the mira 9 redline is, as you mentioned try the k40 or even the blue and white 1060 that I have, maintenance can be very time consuming especially when you have to go at the lense and mirrors, I must say the mira looks like the Rolls-Royce of lasers, again a great video man, you’ve really up your game

Looks good. If there’s concern for bleeding of paint a quick coat of satin clear can help seal up pores, then sand and use the paint to fill in the engrave.

@@LothianWoodworks I made contact with the chaps at Eli-chem resins here in the UK and they confirmed that their water based Aquacast eco resins were definitely laser safe - I did a demo of it on my channel if you want to check it out - so I suppose if you want to do some more like this you could try theirs safe in the knowledge that it's definitely ok!

Nice jig! When using the laser on the coasters do you find the engraving different for each slate coaster since the coasters vary in thickness? The distance from the laser head to the coaster does not change but the height of the slate coaster varies. Or is the minimal difference in slate coaster thickness not much to worry about?
@LothianWoodworksАй бұрын
Hey thanks for the comment. I only worry about the height difference when doing high detail coasters.
