the complaints about the price going up a villa park being developed to have more seating for match days experiences is understandable but it all comes with wanting to support a club that is trying to join the elite. villa are shockingly poor in the arena of revenue from match days in comparison to other clubs.
i'd actually rather sell ramsey than luiz. idk if ramsey will ever be the same player again after the injury problems he's been having
Great pod. Great info thanks guys
Keep an eye on Chris Heck - i get bad vibes from him. Tom Fox mark 2
Best intro ever 👏🏻👏🏻
Just imagine how good it would have been if he’d ridden it!!
Brilliant Quality Vid again lads! Cheers 🎉
Season ticket holder in the north upper for years, sat next to my dad for 32 years. He is 75. Go to renew and find we have been relocated and moved 3 seats apart from each!? Great work Villa 👏🏻👏🏻😤😤🤡🤡
So many ads
Only 3!
Also fans in non " premium ", seat areas, are being moved to accommodate the fans who have been told to move. Absolute chaos
He constantly lied to Gabby about the redevelopment of the North Stand
I’ve sent several emails to Chris Heck about my feelings but can’t ever get a reply
Thank you for mentioning the season ticket fiasco. The loyal fans are being penalised
Supporters, never forget you're 'consumers' to club boardrooms. Little revenue generators that will never shop around elsewhere -- gold dust :)
I think big star players cause more problems just look at man united I’d rather take players with potential that Emery will mould than “champions league” players Tyrone Ming’s will hopefully come back strong But someone no one’s talking about is Emi Buendia what if he comes back flying like he was before his injury ???
Loved Pt 1..... looking forward to Pts 2 & 3. I'd better get back to work now!!!!
I do feel like we're missing something with Luiz cause player trading is kinda rare... and we're doing it with Juventus of all clubs who just got banned from Europe for using player trades to conduct financial trickery... I bet we're gonna sell him but with some of the weirdest terms we've ever heard cause they've been locked in a room trying to figure out new cheatcodes
Also worth mentioning that if we sell Luiz for £30m+McKennie that's not a £30m gain, that's a £52.5m gain Cause we'd sell Luiz for £60m and buy McKennie for £30m to make the trade work on paper. The £60m is immediate while £30m is amortised over the contract length so like £7.5m a year so our FFP gain is £52.5m. That's probably why Juventus want to value McKennie so high cause they don't really have £60m to spend so they're saying "ok we'll give you this now if you overspend on our guy"
Loved the podcast this season, great work to everyone involved and thanks for your hard work
Really enjoyed this
Season Tickets. I feel for the guys in the North Stand but no one is talking about the Holte. I’ve been moved three blocks from behind the goal to close to the corner. No notice, no explanation, no compensation

Very interesting and exciting podcast. This has to be the best era in Villa’s history… even more so than the ‘old days’. Started supporting Villa in 1971, so I have seen some ups and downs… but this seems to be much more than a up-cycle to me.
Great team saw them at Anfield and thought these are going places
An idea to reduce number of matches: playoffs and the round of 16 are played only once at home of the better seated team.
Let's say the first has 21 points and the last 3. Means 0,5 points between adjacent positions. One win can be 6 position improvement. So probably all matches even at last match day will count. Super exciting.
thanks, great pod. The note by Dan at the start really helped. For some people it would steer them away, but for me it persuaded me to watch, because its something I find interesting (and hadn't worked that out from podcast title)
The North stand definitely needs replacing
That red jacket is amazing
Surprised you didn't mention that Commcast owns NBC and Sky.
Oof Comcast is a horrible corporation… but not to take away from him, just hope he’s not bringing the bad elements from that
I know this is probably an old question but how will Birmingham City councils current financial predicament affect affect the clubs expansion plans.
Thanks to John for putting some meat on the bones of the owners latest appointments. It did seem significant when first announced but like most supporters our attention was elsewhere at the time.
Thoroughly interesting and informative. Would like to see more of these kind of episodes. Well delivered guys, excellent. Question: what impact does being based in Birmingham have on revenue, ability to attract investors, players, etc as opposed to London, Manchester etc which currently can support multiple huge revenue clubs?
Build a Baltic super sized restaurant & they will come & stay after the pubs close 🍻
And a mega casino 😂
I hate the modern stadiums and have visited many and at times for big games - across Europe too. I adore the charm and more importantly the intimacy of being part of the game that is very much villa park 😮
You dont like the nou camp the bernabeu the allianz we could have something like that and our revenue and worldwide reputation would sky rocket we can then buy the best players far more easily
@@petersmith2522 no - I prefer small intimidate gigs where I can feel part of the action & not standing in a field of 100k people. If they can maintain the intimacy then go for it : no track style stadiums please 🙏
@@cestmoi7829 i dont see why a massive stadium cant still have that atleast some of the seating will be close some might prefer to be high up looking down but at the end of the day we have to think of the club and we have enough fans waiting for tickets to even go as high as 80 thousand fans and just be a massive club no more real ffp struggles we have double our current wage bill available 🤣
@@petersmith2522 with the average additional spend being 10 gbp at villa on game day & spurs 90; there is quite a lot of scope to increase revenues with the current capacity. If they introduce a bowl I with give up my season ticket 10m away from the dugout pretty much sitting on the halfway line & gently retire to the sofa 🛋️ as I do t want a Birds Eye view of the game.
@@cestmoi7829 but still a brand new 75 thousand seater stadium and all the addutional infastructure would be far more spectacular and attention grabbing on a global level we would be like a ac milan in birmingham or a bayern munich and we would have amazing financial structure behind us most likely also get huge sponsors on top and more fans just for now being so amazing 🤣
The high speed train company is going from Las Vegas to Southern California. (Not South Carolina)
Exciting times, and hopefully more success on and off the field to come...and yet we still have a handful of 'vocal' handwringers at the club, whinging and whining because they're being 'forced' to move a few rows back from where they're used to sitting...in the name of making the club better for all in the long run! Wait till they start putting a brand new stadium together! 😅
I personally think we are going be leaving Villa park in the near future
Why has an American career man who has no connections with our club, other than being an employee chosen our badge.
Never ever ever leave villa park.
There's so much to worry about with off the field at the moment tho. No new season tickets for waiting list this season, absolute joke. Less general tickets, to make more premium tickets. And general tickets up by 12%. I've been on the waiting list for 5 years now, and no chance of ever getting a ST, as I'm number 8000 something. I was a season ticket holder for 10 years, but had to give it up, for family reasons. My only advice, is never give it up, because you will never get it back.
Cramming more seats it sounds like? If we did move, why not BMH?
Cruises are perfect for Pensioners. Dan, you are still too young. It would be the perfect holiday for Kendrick.
I’m sure young people can still enjoy things 😂
Brilliant podcast - very well researched and presented - impressive considering it's not the type of story you usually report on. I do think these appointments are probably the most significant changes that are happening at Villa. We are sorting the football side of things, but if we can transform into a global brand then that has the biggest and most lasting effects for the club, the city and the community.
Thanks Tommy
Great pod
Stairs is an investment company, as such it's worth Zero, and has none of it's own money. All "investment" firm simply convince other people to let them invest and manage some of their money to make profit. This is the problem with capitalism!! Too much faith in digits on paper! One War in the wrong Country, and global money markets can crash within a day and billions of digit money erased in moments and people throwing out of Windows. Be careful what you wish for Villans! £6:5B of other unknown peoples investment in Villa is not necessarily a good thing. Look at the mess Chelsea was in when Roman had to suddenly pull out. Luckily Atarios is only a minority shareholder n board member. It's actually quite a small company but with a lot of financial assets n partners at its discretion. They won't be pumping billions into Villa by any means, but rather they will be used a financial security collateral on large business, financial, club, player deals....which means Wes & Nass don't have to actually spend their own money etc. Money number digits are exchanged by computer, future profits from Villa club deals, sponsorship, TV, merch, tickets, is shared between club, and investors etc. In short, the more money you have the computer to flex with, the bigger deals you can make and more profit generated, without much actual money be exchanged! Smoke and Mirrors, laughable really, if people weren't struggling to buy food! 😂
People dont like change but its inevitable the change needs to happen. To increase revenue its either a massive increase in season tickets prices or a larger stadium more butts on seats and maybe not hit in our pockets as much. Ive been a villian for over 50yrs and seen the changes to the stadium but as it now come to a stage where to increase capicity either the stadium needs knocking down or do you move to a better area build a new stadium with better transport links. I know Villa Park as history but if you stand still you stagnate you got to change to improve. Anything in your heart remains there and Villa Park as it is will become a memory/history even if we moved to a new stadium.
This is all very interesting to me too. You are right to concentrate on Villa (not least because it's a Villa pod cast). However, I don't think you paid enough credence to the fact Atairos have invested in VSports not just Aston Villa. There are expertise there to be utilitied by each party to benifit our club but having a portfolio of football clubs seems to be an in thing. Certainly across Billionaires and Billion dollar companies it's always been assests that are the biggest desire as apposed to simply making more cash flow. Atairos have been able to buy straight into a portfolio of clubs, injecting cash into Vsports that will be of use into further acquisitions. We see now that VSports intend to buy Vasco Da Gama out in Brazil. My expectation would be thay Atairos would be a lot more hands off than perhaps expected in the opinions of the video. Expertise are there should they be required but with us not moving stadium, a few changes to the existing commercial arrangements at Villa park is small fry for a company like Atairos. I'm not suggesting they don't care nor that higher revenues at Villa and other clubs isn't a goal. Rather I'm suggesting that the end goal is a higher value asset overall. As well as potential soft power in the development of multiple metropolitan areas around the World. Lets not forget that FOSUN bought into Wolves witht he hope of finally being allowed to be part of the HS2 development. The Chinese bought into City Group but have bery little to do with day to day running of it or any of its clubs. Sporting achievements do seem to be of interest to Swaris and Edens whilst I'd predict them simply being a means to an end for a company like Atairos. Not that this is a bad thing. I think We'd really see the benifit of them were the club become interested in themselves improving infrastructure in the area. That may be a hope or even an expectation within Atairos but until We get an overall plan for VP, it's difficult to assess. Further infrastructure projects via football clubs in Egypt or Brazil may be a more realistic possibility and goal but We'd have no knowledge of that without speaking to locals of those places. Anyway I'm not dismissing anything in the video. It was well researched and I enjoyed it thanks.
I think Aston Villa needs to move away from Villa Park. If we want to complete and generate funds, we need to aim towards a Spurs like stadium... The location and the potential for the current stadium is not suitable.
We should go beyond spurs at 60 thousand go 70 thousand as we have the fans there waiting even 75 would could achieve cause its also more space for rival fans or casual fans that go to the odd games maybe from other countries now our fanbase expands
@petersmith2522 I agree but I think success on the pitch will determine the realistic capacity of the stadium...
@@BlackRuum its true we need both really world class team and stadium and it all comes down to can the owners afford to do both or can they make it happen some how it would be a great leap above some teams even tottenham if we went 75-80 thousand we would be getting crowds like man utd but if its true we have 25 thousand fans wanting tickets and also we can allow rival teams more tickets id say its very possible and we shkuld look to maximise our revenue intake it would also atrract alot of attention to the club and maybe more fans
@@BlackRuum another bonus if we moved we can just keep playing at villa park until its ready
