Pill box looks in great condition
WW2 pill box Darren
Always interested in old railway architecture and stations and this one no exception. Nice that the family who were about to start their holiday let you have a look round inside the building.
The mystery building is a WW2 gun emplacemet. It's cammoflaged
i have a story like this, i was walking the Cuckoo trail (old rail way in East sussex) while on magic mushrooms, as we walked up to a old station which was creepy as hell! :D
What a beautifully preserved station, inside and out. Many thanks.
LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS
looks like a bunker from ww2, to protect the station
Well thanks for that, mate… I now owe my Dad a pint 😂😂😂
Wow, thanks for this. Yes the looong bus ride in takes ages. If the railway line was re-linked to the network it would be a much better option. Other major themeparks around the world have direct rail links into their parks.
Looks like an old pill box, those windows are gun slits.
Yea I agree it’s been added for the war effort
Well done Darren for getting inside the station house👍👍👍
First 👍🏼
Yes you are!
When you're at Alton Towers again, check out the old Rock Walk and Cuckoo Arbour - I think you'll love them!!
I will yeah. Planned on it last time. Just ran out of time.
Another fantastic video. I've been wanting to visit here for a long time and this video is the next best thing, so thank you. I'd love to go exploring with you - I can't seem to find anyone who gets as excited as me over some ruins hidden in some trees, haha!!
York railway station is one of the finest examples of late Victorian architecture in Europe. It is a masterpiece of civil engineering.
Absolutely amazing to see what’s under Sheffield. Thank you
I only ever rode this once, but loved it. Such a unique ride. Sadly this park seems to be going the same route as American Adventure and Camelot and for the same reason.
I'd never been to Camelot, but now I feel like I have thanks to your fade ins, directions and drone views with captions. Thank you. Another three brilliant videos.
My pleasure!
I wonder if the Victoria Rooms (6.18) had something to do with the Freemasons given the symbol over the door?
Great explore mate - the bit revealing that bricked up station entrance in particular. I have been on a former line before (Shipley via Idle and Thackley) that I think might connect with that one at some point and/or possibly the Tyseral bit.
Thank you so much I am so grateful to watch your video of Battersea Park fairground!
Thank you so much it was very interesting!
Fantastic video, but it also made me so sad. I never truly appreciated this place until it was gone. I remember Aliens at Motion Master and also Robocop and, my favourite, Secrets Of The Lost Temple.
Would be awesome if they could get a like a cgi video made to show how it worked
An excellent video, thank you. I loved your overlay photos. It’s many years now that I was there but great to be reminded by this great video.
Amazing facts and knowledge. I am fascinated, this is right up my street! The sad thing is I need surfaces which are accessible for wheelchair users, so miss proper exploration. But now I know I can see so much in these videos means I can still explore but in a different way I guess
We went to Sunbridge Wells Christmas 2023 it was sad to see it so empty of customers, with only one bar open. When it first opened it was heaving, How times have changed.
Amazing informative video! Recently we found a path near the warehouse you mention down the first road to the station. The tree with its roots on show, got a picture of that!! There was also a tiny tunnel enroute. Was a small muddy path which ended by a gate beyond which a big metal pipe going nowhere. Sorry I missed the previous video, but I subscribed so shall follow AdventureMe. So very impressed, thank you
i never been Butlins but love these old photos the overlays are great ,love these now and then pics .
I was born and raised in Bradford. I left in the late 90’s and live in Florida, United States. So glad l left, and get to enjoy sunshine every single day. Never would have every thought l’de get to wear flip flops every day and live in such a great country. Even though, l appreciate you walking me down memory lane.
I remember the Exchange when it was still working and remember the development of the now new interchange by the Victoria.
someone should get a shovel and see if they can find anything, i doubt an entire coaster could be burried in that small space though
The 'morphing' is incredible!!!
Not rode it myself so I shouldn’t and can’t have an opinion. Someone didn’t read the memo, create the biggest coaster in the UK, they settle for a single foot taller than the current big one. A FOOT! Not a living soul will notice the difference of a foot!! I think they should have spent less on all the pointless theming and used the money wasted to buy a bit more track to make a short ride, a little more less shorter! Missed opportunity on many areas! Unlike the coaster at the moment, heads would be rolling if I was in the board room!
I know it looks short, but trust me when you're on it. It doesn't even enter your mind.
Bradford should actually improve their city instead of wasting their money on building and demolishing random structures
Bradford became prospers on the back of the wool trade. Though, by the 1930s the writing was on the wall when India began exporting its own, cheaper woollen products.
They could never regenerate Bradford by removing its two major car parks, People will just shop in Leeds,
'Brown paper envelopes'? Are you suggesting Poulson mark 2?
It isn't just the Councillors, it is also the Council officers who advise them.
Best era of this place was 2018, a year after it opened. All the bars/pubs were open. Great night out. Covid pretty much decimiated it but I think it was in decline even in 2019. Hope it bounces back. It really is a cool spot for Bradford and something people will travel for.
Does anyone remember the old race track that ran around the park - remember going there as a kid.
I can see this from mine and my grandmas and uncles housr
The food at spoons has gone down hill like a lead balloon
Why was the Power Station closed ? Now Europe economy is absolutely non existent, only service section with goods from Asia . Nothing is being produced in the UK and Europe. Total disgrace
The new Saltaire train station was built in the late eighties by the Leeds British Rail Works Department, located under Leeds Railway station, known as the Dark Arches. The entrance on Neville Street is now a news agent.
The electrical failure wouldn’t have caused a blackout across London because it only provided electricity for a fifth of the capital; primarily the capital.
So sad about Charlie, I have been on that chairlift with my grandad my grandmother wouldn't go on it she took the land train instead.
Really enjoyed this series, I don't have vivid memories of AA but definitely visited a few times as a young child, probably the last visit was in 2002 with school. Quite shocked at how different it looks now, the photo fades in the video really put it into perspective.
