👍
Nice video. Can't wait to see the wheat harvest that started today in NW Ohio
Thanks man, kind of bland but wanted to get something out since it’s been awhile. Got some wheat off yesterday before it rained!
Good luck planting your 2024 crops
👍
Always the eternal struggle against the weather. Keep getting rain right when the fields look passable for work in my area
Absolutely! About to get hammered here in an hour, we shall see
Looking good brother good luck planting we’re having the worst luck with all this rain
It just won’t stop!! Hope all is well
No knife??!😮😂
I lose them too much lol
Great video
Great job fixing your tile
She did good! Thanks for watching!
Yardwork! Yes...John Deere is the best.🤠
I did that once when I was much younger and not used to a hand clutch. I rammed the allis chalmers wd and barely missed granddad. 😢 Lucky to hit it in the rear tire
Nice, why is it called tile ?
Technically it’s called corrugated pipe but it gets it name from the old days when “clay tile” used to be installed in fields!
@@ClouseFarms I always wondered, thank you.
Great video
Thanks man!
What’s your overall opinion on the 5100M? I priced one out w a loader as a do it all chore tractor, my concern is I’ll outgrow it because I’m used to running Deere’s early 6 series tractors
This one kind of replaced our 4430, and I personally didn’t think I would like it but now I don’t really want to see it go soon. It runs our 200 gallon sprayer, our mower, and spreads fertilizer. For us it’s great but I feel you should “know” what tasks it would do before pulling the trigger to justify it if that makes sense? We are getting a 6R 110 to replace it since the 5100M is part of my father in laws “MUD” deal with Ag Pro where he gets a new set every year, the 5100M was all they had on the lot to choose from, but I really enjoy having it. Hope that helps!
@@ClouseFarms definitely appreciate the input. Keep up the good work & have a safe planting season!
I got a couple of them bushings if you need some
Dang, We just bought enough to do the back row, and hoping that we will have a different planter by the time the wing bushings need replaced again!
@@ClouseFarms understand
Good luck
I know prices are all over the board right now, but 9000 an acre is hard to believe but it is a pretty good bargain today. But you are absolutely correct if someone had to start from scratch building a farm buying land and all the equipment to operate it could never turn any profit. By the way that 4955 sure was a good looking machine.
You are 100% right, it’s not a great bargain, currently, it’s only justifiable for us because it’s right close to us. Love the 4955, will always be on this farm (hopefully)
today is it
Not a bad price in today's times. I just bought a farm in November and was offered less than three months after i bought it over 3,100.00 more than I paid for it. I live in southern ohio and seen a farm in my area bring over 16k per acre.
It is just a crazy market nowadays!
9k per acre in NW Ohio?!? CHEAP! I just sold/closed on 30 acres in NW Ohio and got over $14k/acre couple miles south of Whitehouse. Corner lot 3/4 acre woods. That was NOT at auction just through my attorney. I paid him 2.5% commission. Comps here are between $12-$16/acre. There is no need to sell at auction and pay those high fees. Wise up land sellers. FYI Dad paid $200/acre in the 50’s and they laughed at him then. You will do good on your purchase.
Thanks for sharing Chris! In this case the two owners were out of state and were ready to move on! Surely a long term investment that will be nice whens its paid off before we are 50. Gotta love to do it for sure!
We farm just west of Toledo and 80 acres just sold for $12,300
Sheesh
Great work
Awesome cheers mate couldn't see it in Australia night time obviously
I watched from my parents' place. Really cool how the sky got that twilight feel
Was Defintely the best part!
100% right with not being able to start without family already doing it. Everything is expensive, especially in relation commodity prices. Best of luck man, do what you have to do. We’ll be making the same plunge in the next year or so
Absolutely! Don’t see how it could be done starting out. Thanks for the support, good luck with yours as well! Hopefully the rates go down by then haha
Great helper u guys have
Absolutely!
Where you located in northwest Ohio. I’m in ottawa, OH
Tiffin, so little under an hour East
Nice to see a somewhat local person. I am from Bowling Green area, with a history of farming. Been out of the arena for about 15 years. I really like your videos!! Thank you!!
Appreciate you watching! We are In BG every year pulling a truck and a semi during the fair!
@@ClouseFarms I am there pulling my antique tractor every year at the fair and of course during the national pulling championships!! lol!!
@@duanedierksheide4770awesome! I’ll keep a look out for your tractor this year!
Thanks for sharing. Wish you luck.
No problem , thanks for watching Mike!
Great teacher great video
Great job driving the tractor young man
This better blow up, this made my day🙌🙌
They are both loving every second of it 👍🏼
Absolutely!
How you guys pay off these kind of debts is beyond me.I couldnt sleep at night.
Defintely not easy, especially with low markets but just a big investment that’s rewarding in the long run!
Subscribed to see how you grow this. Good luck!
Thanks for watching!
Tyler - Make sure to call 811 before you dig…
Farmers are exceptions ;)
Thank you for sharing this. There are almost no video's talking about the process to get a beginning farmer loan. I live in northwest ohio also and think prices are out of control but when my Dad was young and land was $500 an acre he thought the same thing. There will always be jealous people trying to run you down for pursuing your dreams.
100%. I thought young guys might find it helpful that there are options like that out there and how I went about it. Yes, prices are crazy! Definitely have to love doing it to pursue it. Thanks for watching!
Nicely done great addition
Thanks for watching Walter!
My favorite race driver is Ryan Missler from Bellvue...is that near you? Good dirt track racin' at Fremont and Attica, I hear. God bless you folks on your new farm! WillyB
Thanks Willy! Yes, we are probably 10 minutes away from Bellevue and Attica, and are in Fremont all the time. Attica has some nice races!
i am north of you 30 miles and i have been cutting bean population back and yields have been going up and i am on 30 in rows i used to plant 200,000 and now down to 80,000 on the same variety and yields are up 30 on the sand hills
Wow. That is good to know. I’ve been really debating on doing that, but we have been running pretty decent beans for this area the last few years I’d hate to change, but it’s something I do want to experiment with!
175000 to180000 good population for seneca sand@@ClouseFarms
@@nwofarms It has been good for us so far!
Just found your videos... you are just over the line from me (points 18 miles east) subscribed in hopes of starting a trend for you. Have fun..enjoy the rain?
Thanks for watching! Nice to hear from someone close! Rain wise it’s been wet the last few weeks with a few dry days. Ready for 70s next week!!!
Great video Tyler and your Dad
Nice looking bean planter
Thanks! It sure it
Sad times farmers pay stupid money for farm ground. Luckily they have ground that’s paid for because that farm won’t pay for itself at that price. Ground in my area is bringing 22 k an acre.
That’s correct. We knew going in our off the farm income would be needed. 22k is insaneeeeee
awesome video. i have been saving for years to try and buy some land to start a hobby farm its not cheap.
Thanks for watching! It certainly is not, but that’s the price you pay for the enjoyment of it!!! I hope you have good luck!
Remember the 80's!
Heard many stories. If this was our main income then it would be a different story lol
I have a family member in the same boat you’re in. He’s not a land owner yet. It just to expensive. He doing rent grounds and he has a good start on his own equipment. But this is really a very tough time to start farming from scratch. Hang in there and maybe things will go your way. There are lots of farmer with off farm jobs just so their mortgage is paid. I don’t understand why the farming lender groups don’t cut young farmers a very low interest rate and no money down and let the land and equipment stand as collateral. I don’t think the leaders of the financial world understand that there not people just standing in line to be farmers. Most people today just won’t work that hard to be a farmer and hold down an off farm job. Maybe people will get it when there’s nothing to eat.
It is unfortunate these days, nearly impossible to start from scratch like you said without equipment already. There will be good years and bad years, just the risk we are willing to take to have that benefit of it being paid off before we are 50. I wish your family member the best!!!
Best of luck young man.
Thank you sir!
Congratulations!
Thank you sir!
In canada in our area that would of sold for 50,000 an acre.
That is crazy!!
