Don't ever spot someone without checking in with them first and getting their approval. When you fall, you have certain expectations of how you're going to fall, a spotter changes that expectation. You risk severe injury to both the climber and yourself, if they're not aware that you're spotting or how you're spotting.

A video about auto-belay safety and its message for climbers to not become "complacent" with safety. Checking if you are clipped in is a good safety factor but it really needs to be accompanied by other safety factors such as the pendulum factor on certain routes, a test fall from a much lower height, and checking that your own harness sits on you correctly otherwise it wouldn't matter if you clipped in twice, checked it twice, trice or however many times. Complacency is led by example in this video by missing some very important safety factors. Were earbuds used in this video? If so how could you hear your designated clip spotter? If you shouldn't get complacent with safety gear then maybe check the instructions for the mask again, if you care. Yes, check the clip-in, but more safety in an instruction video that is led by example especially when it's preached for. "CHECK YOSELF BEFORE YOU WRECK YOSELF" also #stopthechalk #allchalknowalk
