    @@TerenceDIY quick question: where are you getting those torque specs? I ask because a Chevy Bolt forum says 74 for rear but 118 for front and now I need to figure out who is right

  • @TerenceDIY
    @TerenceDIY4 күн бұрын

    It's 74 ft lbs per Haynes manual. I would never post any incorrect information. If I wasn't sure, I would have mentioned that. The knuckles that those brackets mount to are aluminum. A 118 ft. lbs of torque is a little on the extreme side and can possibly fracture that knuckle.

    This video is great brother. Need your advice. I have a 2018 Equinox LT 1.5 motor. The vacuum pump shattered. Found out after I lost brakes driving and the brake pedal went stiff. Replaced the vacuum pump after removing the vacuum pump debris from under the valve cover. Put it all back together and she’s not turning over. The dash is saying “reduced engine power”. I have a jump pack attached, the engine is getting fuel, spark plugs are not flooded and we have spark. Any idea how I can get it running again?

    What screw is supposed to go on the rotor? Just wanna be prepared about to do my sister car in a few weeks… if it’s anything like a Honda screw then it’s gon be hard as hell man I had to use impact driver for that and it broke my bit

  • @TerenceDIY
    @TerenceDIY9 күн бұрын

    It's a torx t-30 screw I believe (regarding the size). It holds the rotors in place from falling off during vehicle assembly. I have quite a few videos with other vehicles that have the same screw. I show how to easily remove them using a small torch. Without a small torch, the screw is really tough to remove. You will most like strips the screw before it comes out.

    It being already removed could be the case. If it is there, when you use the impact, please press forward firm as possible so the bit won't strip out. If it doesn't come out hopefully the head of the bolt break. That would be great too. Keep me posted.

    This vehicle was not equipped with electronic parking brakes. However, if your vehicle is equipped with it, then yes you will have to put the vehicle in service mode. Instructions from my software... - Ignition on, engine off. - Press on service brake pedal. - While holding pedal down, push down on the park brake switch for 15 seconds. - A flashing letter P with a wrench symbol will appear in the display. When you're done changing the brakes, place your foot on the pedal and pull up on the park brake switch.

    So I bought one of these yard bug MTD lawn mowers recently and it had a broken cable too but it was the other cable, the one for forward motion. the reverse cable was looking like it was gonna break any day too so I bought both cables and started the project yesterday and finished it today. You are right about the reverse cable being easy because it's the lower cable down low by the deck. The forward cable was real bear to replace because I had so much trouble getting to it.
