    Thank you very much for this. My attention span has been totally nuked over the past few years, and it has led to horrific anxiety and difficulty in focusing on anything for more than 15 seconds. I started doing these about a month ago and started to focus on sounds in the world as well. Now, I feel like I'm regaining the ability to have prolonged periods of undistracted thought, and it is very freeing. So many things in this world are clickbait and dopamine shots right now that it's very easy for the brain to get conditioned to that type of stimulus alone. Outrage news, porn, click bait, video games, you name it. It's all destroying the mind.

    It seems like people use this to soot themselves instead of training their attention? I’m assuming the barking dog is set up for a challenge to stay locked on your sound, not really about calming.

    Not fully but I was able to somehow magnify the desired sound but had an awareness that there were other sounds in the background. Of course my mind would want to wander but was gently able to bring it back.

    I have a difficult time with the first 5 minutes of keeping my attention on the sound. I loved when it got faster. The end was easiest. So....holding my attention is the most difficult. ADD.

    Whenever I really hone in on a sound I get this feeling of nostalgia, it brings me joy. Maybe it reminds me of a time when I had better attention and wasn't so much in my head, but it is strange.

    Thank you. I've started watching when I felt overwhelmed of emotion and had addiciton behaviour two years ago, cause my therapist told me, and it works for me. Right now I need to begin again, cause a lot of problems around me such as divorce, lost my purpose, and all of these happening while I'm in imigration situation. Okay, then, let's do it!
