how did you do this sound
Did you make these tabs or did you find them??
Very good
Got to love how some of the best bass lines are simple.
fantastic, thx
Fuuuuuck!!!Homeboy has got more talent in his guitar strap than I do in my whole existence!!! Nicely done
Tabs?????
Shows Peter Hook’s incompetent playing!
Lol wow thanks for the constructive comment. He makes 2 mistakes in the recording, and I played the mistakes so I guess you're right.
@@TylrMrshll This was not a criticism of you. It was a criticism of Hook’s “playing.” This is not professional competent bass playing. I am sure that you can play far better than Peter Hook!
Peter hook has not ever been interested in being a 'professional competent bass player' and he's perfectly happy with that. He makes 'sounds' that thrill him and fit the sound of the music and band(s) he played in. End of. Go listen to pastorious or Stanley Clarke if you want professional competent bass playing, or a session musician. But does the competent session bass player's stuff make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end when you're 15 years old listening in your bedroom ? Probably not. Tis what it is.
@@joebloggs1756 I see your point!
Quel cazzo di pollice e da tagliare 😅
I saw your video for the first time.😀 Nice bass sound and playing🤩🤩🤩 😍Great performance😍 I'll come see you again.😁 Subbed🔔🔔🔔 I also upload music videos as a solo band.😀
tone tutorial urgent
one of the absolutely not boring bass cover i ever seen 😍
The bass I want playing song I want to play on bass I want...great one buddy 🤩
i had no idea that xiu xiu did a twin peaks thing but holy shit this is amazing
Shouldn't the verse riff be played without alternate picking, downstrokes only?
like 80% Joy Division is all downstrokes, but I have pretty firm/aggressive picking technique and much better timing this way. I also have some mild carpal tunnel so it can be a little tricky for me do all downstrokes a lot of the time.
This is sicckkkkk. now i want to throw my electric guitar away and buy a bass
Felt the same way buddy that was 2 years ago
Ohhh. That's a beautiful song. Your bass sounds so good. Love it
Tabs pleaseeee
nice cover, nice cat
how the hell did you get that tone
Nice pbass
Nailed it
great cover. Love this album,
Awesome cover! Why aren’t there more covers of this beautiful song 😢
Fucking sick I love this
Joder que buenos son.
u got tabs for this or did u learn by ear?
That little lick he does sounds so good 🔥
FUCK YEAH!!!!
what fx are you using?
Aguilar TLC Compressor > EQD Westwood > Kinotone Ribbons (Just for a little bit of tape saturation) > SansAmp Paradriver. The tone is mostly from the Westwood + SansAmp, and the rest are just to tighten it up a bit.
I have a hard time describing the shade of blue that's my favorite color but that's literally it. Just soothing to look at, no? What was their song that was stuck in my head the whole time in chicago?
This is totally that song lol. The color is called Miami Blue and I swear it looks a bit more teal in person, but it never shows up in pictures or video. The color is gorgeous though, it's the prettiest bass I've ever owned
That P Bass is so fresh! Been slowing putting together one myself so this gets me hyped, great cover too!
thanks my dude. I had a Squier P bass back in the day but when I saved up enough to get my first Fender I went with a jazz bass for the longest time. But then after like 10 years I got a P bass wanting to mix it up a little and instantly became a a huge simp again. It might be super simple, but nothing else sounds like it.
@@TylrMrshll Haha, I’m pumped to have that PBass sound myself soon. Especially since I’ve only ever owned Jazz’s
new bass is gorgeous, what model is that? awesome cover as well that thing is growling in that tuning
Thanks dude! It's the Professional II P Bass in Miami Blue, my first American Fender. I've been fawning it for years, and my other p bass has a few issues so I ended up getting this. I got a lot of work done to the other bass though recently so it's playing a bit better, but this one just plays spectacularly. I got it set up recently too and it's probably the best feeling bass I've ever owned. Really happy so far.
dude this is sick, idk if you take requests, but if you do pump fake by snowing it would be super cool!
I keep meaning to get to that one. Snowing was my favorite band for like 5 years so I can definitely do that
@@TylrMrshll bet thanks
My daughter is learning this on bass and I shared this with her ♥️. She loves how Peter invented lead bass 😆. Excellent job. I’m a huge fan and you really understand his style
Tuning??
I play it in standard here, but after making this cover I figured out that peter is always tuned F#BEA (a full step up, like andy rourke in the smiths) in AC, so this isn't exactly how it's supposed to be played.
What a great cover man. You gotcha !
Es en standard tuning?
what effects do u have for the bass
I'm pretty sure for this one I used: Aguilar TLC compressor > JHS Chorus (set pretty slow and deep, and pretty dry) > Caroline Somersault (basically another chorus, just a touch to add a little bit of offset modulation on top) > Caroline Meteore (reverb, cranked up the knobs but it's pretty dry so it doesn't overtake the signal much) > Kinotone Ribbons (A tape emulator sorta pedal, I use the crinkle and a bit of high pass to "degrade" the signal, this gives it that lo-fi sound) > Sansamp Paradriver All that is just DI'd into a Focusrite 2i2. The Ribbons does most of the work here, it's actually what gave me the idea to do this song
kzread.info/dash/bejne/l5abptVwfbedgbw.html I uploaded an isolated bass track version if it helps to hear how the effects stack
@@TylrMrshll thank you so much !
this is probably such a boring suggestion, but god DAMN would i love to hear this tone over tears over beers. it's got maybe my favorite bass in mobo's discography (other than the chorus of everyday) and i think you could do it justice. spectacular cover, i come back to this -- and some of your others -- often. good shit, homie (:
Damn this comment is so nice I'm gonna just have to do it. I've actually been having a bit of issues with this bass lately and kind of why I've taken a break from covers cuz it made me so sad to play. I've finally taken it in to a shop and it's getting plek'd right now, the neck has a tiny twist they're fixing a bit, and the bridge needs realignment (idk if you can tell in just the videos, but all my strings are misaligned towards the higher side, makes it really easy to bend the G off the neck). I should have it back in a few days from now though and I'll get to work on that. I got a pretty big back catalogue I wanna work through but I've been pretty lazy lately lol. I've always considered doing a mobo song and was on the verge on doing Mass. but never really got around to it, but this is just the inspiration and timing I need
@@TylrMrshll now that you mention it, i definitely see the misalignment. glad that you're getting it fixed, homie! i really look forward to everything that's coming-this channel's one of my favorites to come back to. do you have any originals, by the way? thanks for taking the time to reply (:
I really appreciate the kind words man, thank you. I haven't tried to write in a good minute, but I used to be in a band called Goodland and we're on spotify. I have a few videos of us live on this channel too, before I was really doing covers so it's way back there lol. Writing was always one of the hardest things for me which is kinda why I started doing covers on here actually
pls more french police
😃😄
OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE THIS BAND youve saved me so much time
awesone tone!
Well Done Mate…..🙌
Bout to go learn this RIGHT NOW
