Bismillah, brother, I say this publicly because you posted this video for the public to see and hear. You completely butchered the Quran. I never understood why brothers insist on trying to recite the Quran or read ahadith in Arabic when they dont understand how to do it. Before you post videos, make sure that you are educated on how to properly recite the Quran. You didn't recite one ayat correctly. Just read the translation until you are able to read the Arabic properly. Put the work in and most importantly get a teacher who has knowledge of how to teach tajweed. May Allah bless us and our families. Ameen ya Rabb. I also agree with the comment that the khutbah is not the time for teaching a subject. But rather, it should be used to admonish and remind the people of their duty to Allah. People should leave the khutbah feeling like they need to change their lives. The talk that you gave is more suited for a history class, not Jumuah. And Allah knows best. Remember go back and put the work in as it pertains to your recitation and Arabic in general. May Allah guide us all.

Fear Allah, delete this nonsense. Proud of this brother for educating people, and it’s not up to you to decide what people can talk about at jummah or what makes people “feel like they can change their lives”. This is needless negativity commented on an educational, positive, accurate lecture. For brother Mutaqqi may Allah reward you for all your efforts and may Allah help you continue to educate us all on our history and other topics too. Huge fan of the podcast, sending blessings from Canada, by way of Oromia!

@concernedcitizen1899 I usually don't go back and forth, especially as it pertains to unfounded comments. Time and time again, I see Black American Muslims delivering khutbahs but don't possess knowledge of the Arabic language. And that wouldn't necessarily be a problem if they stayed in their lane. Meaning, if you can't read the Qur’an in Arabic properly, then don't read the Qur’an in Arabic. Just read the English interpretation. The Qur’an is the speech of Allah, so we should make every effort to learn how to recite it from qualified teachers. And if you feel like you have to recite the Qur’an then don't record it and post it on KZread for the world to see, hear, and copy your mistakes. People assume that if a person is bold enough to post a video of himself reciting Qur’an then he must be correct in his recitation. It is embarrassing how Black American Muslims, after all these years, still lack basic fundamentals. I remember when I was studying Ummul-Qura University in Mecca, Black Americans were on the lowest of the totem pole. We were expected to fail, you know why? Because we usually failed and / or quit. We were lazy. The same thing took place in Madinah University. And it had nothing to do with racism. The Africans flourished, but not us. Take the time to study. And again, when you look at the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, you will see that his Khutbahs contained words of admonition. He would inspire the people to change their lives. It is said that he would get so angry that his face would turn red and that his voice would get so loud that it was as if he was warning of an enemy attack. There is a time and a place for everything. Your comments are unfounded. I don't understand why everyone feels as though they must post videos. Learn the basics of the Deen first and foremost. Study and learn the correct Aqeedah, etc. Learn the Arabic language, memorize the entire Qur’an. Get to the point where you don't read translations anymore because you have the ability to read the Qur’an and understand it without translations. I will definitely not remove my comments, and I pray to Allah that I am among those who fear him and love him. I pray to Allah that the brother takes heed to my comments, though hard, they come from a place of concern. Oh, you who believe, fear Allah and say a word that is straight to the point and Allah will make righteous your deeds and Allah will forgive you for your sins, and whoever obeys Allah and his Messenger has indeed achieved the greatest of success. 33:70-71 May Allah guide us all, and may Allah bless us and our families. Ameen ya Rabb.

As Salaam Alaikum. I watch the Jumah weekly, however there is always a problem with your sound system. The recordings are always extremely low in volume. I just purchased a new computer this week and the problem of low volume persists. Your KZread audience is not receiving the blessing of the Jumah Khutbah because we cannot hear it properly.
