I recognized the song 2 by Sleeping at Last within the first few moments and I got full body chills. This was amazing, they two of them are just so... I don't even know. It bothered me that one of questions in the campaign 2 recap wasnt to laura asking two things. Did she know caleb was in love with her and did jester ever love caleb as anything more then a friend or was her mind a one train track to fjord. I know laura insisted even before the campaign to travis that she was going to make him fall in love with her but sadly as cute as they are together caleb and jester imo were perfect together.

Yasha wasnt there when Astrid was mentioned. Liam and Ashley discussed in Talks that they may have thought of different people (Yasha was likely thinking of Veth, and Liam confirmed Caleb thinking about Jester.)

Caleb and Jester ship was very cute however I do think Essek is better for him because they both got tons of personal shit they have and have very similar issues. Not to mention Caleb would feel guilty for not being able to be there 100% of the time because hunting down The Assembly is a time suck. Essek understands this because he doesn’t always have time either, having to move around constantly and being a criminal outrun. Though I don’t mind if others have different ships :)

I haven't finished the season or I'd comment more eloquently (~115 rn). I will say that Bren is more romantically connected to Veth than Jester, and that does not hold a candle to his connection to Astrid (or is it Ostrid?). He will likely never look to another until she (and the rest of the Volstruka) is redeemed or dead.

I'm a little confused when the player, Liam clealy contradicted what you say when on Talks, explaining that Caleb is in love with Jester and isn't in love with Veth. It's Veth who has a crush on Caleb. Also "that connection not holding a candle' to Jester is untrue, Liam has reiterated several times that Caleb wouldn't be in the place he arrived at, had it not been for Jester's kindness, acceptance and friendship. She changed the trajectory of his life forever. You're free to have preferences, but it's rude to come to a video clearly celebrating the connection Caleb and Jester have and trying to handwave it away as if it's a fact, not just your opinion.

Call it the bias of someone who isn't much for shipping. His character arc seems much more satisfying when based on redemption over romance to me, but I reserve the right to be wrong. You did an excellent job portraying them btw.

@@MasterofTongs @Master of Tongs I think redemption and romance can coexist. Imo being loved and accepted by someone after all these years of self-hate would be narratively satisfying: it takes a lot to love and allow to be loved. I'm glad you liked it! Hope you enjoy the rest of the campaign.

Sometimes, I forget Critical Role is filled with professional voice actors. Powerful moments like this, where they can get into character are pretty dang great. I always pictured Caleb as they say he looks. A thin, scrawny guy covered in dirt and mud and sometimes shit, who is perpetually miserable from his own self loathing. I actually like the more angular look you gave him in this animation, it makes him look more unique then what his official character sheet makes him look.
