It isn’t EcoDisc, it’s MonoSpace
@@lyift1329 I personally don’t agree with Kone’s “Space” names referring to the model of lift. They are all the same equipment and hardware, just in different configurations (except for MaxiSpace). “Ecodisc” is a well known and succinct term for all of Kone’s modern lifts, as it’s used in every lift they manufacture. I think “Monospace” and “Monogoods/Transys” should just refer to the lift car, and “Minispace” just indicates it’s a motor room model of Ecodisc, which is confusing because the MRL models of Ecodiscs are sometimes put into motor rooms. Just my opinion.
@@liftsinireland if you think it’s EcoDisc from the down sign, it’s just powered by EcoDisc, there’s no such thing as a “EcoDisc”
I hope it’s not modernised by a piece of c**p and actually stays there or it’s modernised by KONE, Orona, Otis or Schindler Lift
I have very sad news - unfortunately 2 of them are currently being replaced by Kone, it's a real shame I didn't see it coming at all. I thought they ran really well.
Nice Kone EcoDisc. These lifts are called Kone MonoSpace R7 or R9 (depending on the model) in Australia
What a coincidence, I just filmed that lift myself only a few hours ago. Great minds think alike
Every Irish lift company back in the 80s must have used these fixtures. Ennis, Mid Western, Walker, Pickerings (slightly different to these ones). Great video. Was that a public lift?
@@europa2000man Thabks! Yeah, it’s a public lift.
Nice
Nice video of the day.❤🎉. 0:25 .
Kone Elevators are the best! In the Point Shopping Centre and residential apartments, there's the DX version which is the best.
Last Kone M series Lift 1993 Has Been Replaced ☘️🇨🇮🍀😊
Last Pickerings Lift Year 1982/1984 & 1985😢 Replaced By Schindler ☘️🇨🇮😊
Something similar happened to me at 47 Thomas street in limerick. There was a 2nd gen EcoDisc and after I finished filming I was trapped inside. In the end I had to press the emergency release or I genuinely could have been stuck in there for a long time. Was there an emergency release when you got trapped??
@@FionnsLifts There was no emergency release, I looked all over and couldn’t find one.
I think he just wants a ‘bleedin’ row with someone. Typical Dublin scene. I got a glimpse of a fight at the Heuston Station LUAS stop one Saturday evening recently (not like it’s a rare occurrence or anything)
That’s what I was told by a man at Orona Mid Western who were maintaining these lifts before Schindler took over. I talked to him over the phone
They are actually Pickerings lifts from, I was told 82 but the centre didn’t open until 85 (so they were probably installed in 84)
Can you tell them to stop?
I wish
Cork is starting to become like Galway when it comes to old lifts. They are nearly all gone. I’d say the Merchants Quay lifts are also on the way out soon because the last time I was there, out of 4 lifts, only one was working. I wouldn’t mind but they are excellent lifts and if they were maintained properly (it’s probably the fact that parts are not replaceable), they could last at least another 20 years. Same goes for the Paul Street ones. It all seems to be down to lift companies not making the parts for older lifts anymore (which we all know is done deliberately so that they have to replace them) and owners being told that new lifts are more energy efficient. Great video by the way
Excellent
0:03 "1 person per lift". 0:18 The real capacity: 8 person
That was because of COVID.
💞Wow🧡🧡🧡🧡💜💜💜💜
I am not going to question how the hell that gen2 lost position with only 2 floors.
At least they kept the original cab and motor
Nice lifts

Excellent Catch
Too bad the IMEMs in France are somewhat better
That lift still has a glitch in the voice. Great video
Nice elevators 👍
Nice video i was there 3 weeks ago on April 3rd
That’s actually not even harsh as it’s not loud and you didn’t even shake your camera a lot due to it
Yeah
Too Bad, there is no "Sorry, the floor selected is a restricted floor" when you press the locked floor
I love these older Otis gen2s and Otis 2000s. Sadly at WestQuay shopping centre in Southampton England they had been modernised to Kone monospaces in 2018
Wow it's a kss 280
Lift comming out in Imperial Galway today 13/4/24
The other lift has been modernised since at least 2021. This lift must be still in working order
