Great video, thank you!
So glad you posted this. I have two blood orange trees I need to get into the ground. I've been delaying doing it because of the heat and lack of rain.
Lovely! I hope to recreate a lush pollinator field like this!
I just bought one. Looking forward to seeing it grow and tasting it.
Thanks for the tip. With summer coming on strong I have considered getting some of these. At least for the deciduous trees I planted. The ol' 5 gallon pail with a small hole drilled on the side may have to suffice for the Green Giant Arbs I planted. Quite a long hedgerow of them so I am hoping we don't get too dry here in the NE.
Best of luck to you!
Thank you for making this video
This was really helpful. Thanks for posting.
Definitely A beautiful bloom. Hope it tastes as good as it looks.
Me too. I have some strawberry Guava trees too. Hope to get g fruit this year
Thanks chief. As someone transitioning into a permaculture lifestyle it's very humbling to see how much detail and knowledge there is to be learned.
Will that attract rats and mice to your garden throwing feed on the ground
The chickens eat it right up but I'm sure there's enough left over to attract some mice. Doubtful that rats would be interested in a stray piece of grain or two. Gotta remember though this is done before the garden is installed. It's just a plot of dirt at this point. It'd be a couple weeks before anything is planted that rodents could harm.
I’m always impressed
Thank you.. it's tough finding time!
So glad you are still making content. Appreciate your work.
Bush-to-mouth. Yeeaah!
Please provide written script
😂 This really works wonders for me too!
What area are you in. I'm in the Gainesville area. I want to see if your techniques will work in my area.
I am in Zephyrhills, FL . Zone 9b.. but it's always colder here than surrounding areas so regardless of what the government says, I claim zone 9! Lol
@@oldfloridagardener Same here zone 8
It looks as if you are an organic gardener. How do you keep the bugs away from your cabbage in the warm climate? Me and my neighbor stay away from growing them because it seems like we are just growing for them 😂. (Atlanta)
Hello, any update on the re sprout head?
Thank you😊
Thank you ever so much for sharing your knowledge of pitchforks. This year I created 40 square yards of garden beds (which I had never done before) for my wife, and I have been truly amazed at how wonderful the pitchfork is as a garden tool. We have very clay soil so I have used the pitchfork to break up the ground, shovel it into a wheelbarrow, and then sieve the soil of rocks on a half inch screen. Before replacing the soil I used the pitchfork to break up the ground to the depth of the pitchfork before replacing the screened soil back on the ground. This allows the clay soil to be broken up to at least two pitchfork depths before planting the beds. Once I replaced the soil, I then amended the soil with gypsum, compost, wood chips and a mixture of biochar, hay and rabbit manure at the top, wile tilling the various layers. This was all made so much easier with the pitchfork!
Как вы удобряете брокколи?
В каком месяце вы сеять семена брокколи?
I've been searching for this, thank you
I too like a longer handle, but it's for the longer reach (less bending) not the leverage. The leverage in this instance gets worse with length because the pivot point is wherever your back hand is and the front hand does the lifting; while the weight being lifted is further away putting the Lifter at a mechanical power disadvantage from the short handle - but that also means you don't have to move your arms as far - so in that respect it's an ADVANTAGE - so long as it's not excessively heavy material.
I learned a lot from your video. Next year I will be more careful when harvesting and I will leave the plants in the garden to see if I get a second harvest off the plants. Great Video thanks for the info.
I have been eating the broccoli leaves chopped up mixed with onions and liver cooked on top of bacon.
That sounds delish!
This is so helpful. I thank you❤
hi, how long did you keep the greens in ice water before bagging them . thanx
It doesn't take long for them to cool down. The purpose of the ice is to just stop the cooking process So I would say if I threw a big colander full of greens in the ice bath and swirl them around a little bit I think maybe 15 to 30 seconds is enough to stop the cooking and get them cold then I put them right in the bag
@@oldfloridagardener thanx
good video, did u add any salt to the boiling water ? if yes how much. thanx
I have been on a mission to grow cabbage sprouts from 2 years. I have some good ones growing now. But I cut off my cabbage head too low and I didn’t leave any leaves, but sprouts are growing. I will try again in the fall. I’m in North Alabama, so it’s about to be too hot for them. And I just harvested some really nice broccoli heads Saturday. I knew about the side shoots but I didn’t know about the suckers growing on broccoli! I will be on the lookout for those! Thanks for all this helpful info! Happy gardening to ya!! I’ll be back to your channel for sure!
Thank you for proving the evidence of the regrowth. Is one thing to say it and another thing to show it.
So the ensilage rake is best for moving triple shredded MULCH from a pile delivered onto my driveway? Wolverine brand?!? I went to U of M, Go blue!!! :)
Great Video. Just what I needed
Dang Lee!! Great videos!! I am CRAVING some Collard greens about right now!!
Gonna try this! Thx!
Great video! Thank you.
What time of year do you plant broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage? Mine got aphids on them. How do keep them off your plants?
Very useful information, thanks for taking the time to create and post the video.
I like the stalks as much as anything else. They're worth peeling the skin off.
Hi!! I can't wait for your naked gardening day video !!! See you soon!!😁😆😁😁
Oh this is really about Cabbage and Broccoli welp Sir
Side shoots , not suckers. Suckers come from root stocks.
so last year I cut the heads of a cabbage and 4 more heads grew! I was so shocked I never ever thought that would happen! So you never know!
Good info! Thank you sir.
the sound quality in this video is super duper good. perfect.
Isn’t Gods creation and design amazing?😊❤️
سپاسگزارم بابت ویدئوی بسیار زیبای شما. سبز و پایدار باشید 🎅
Good Morning, do you know how deep does Broccoli roots? I only have pots, but I'd like to give it a try this year.
Have you tried cropping the top of the main broccoli head before it develops in attempt to grow multiple big heads? Its a old trick and might work.
Haven't tried that trick
@@oldfloridagardener it works with marijuana plants and I think it will work with broccoli. It’s called topping.
